I have finally made my choice for my heart gold team. I had a really hard time chosing the starter. I knew I wouldnt take Feraligatr because I absolutely wanted my water type pokemon in my team to be either slowbro or slowking (that was a tough decision too!). But to chose between Meganium and Typhlosion was a big pain. I finally decided that I would rather have Arcanine as a fire type than Typhlosion. So my team is as follow:

(I havent decided about the moveset yet , though)

-Ariados

-Togetic

-Slowking

-Arcanine

-Jolteon

They are all pokemon that can be obtained pretty early in the game, which is a good thing.
I originally planned to use Tyrannitar and Houndoom since apparently they can be found in the safari pre-league but I have already trained a houndoom in one of my previous teams and Tyrannitar is way too over-used to my taste

For the Fire type, try Houndour, great against Psychic-types too.
Grass, go for Abomasnow, great for Grass-types, just beware of Fire-types.
Electric, either Zapdos, Electivire or Magnezone, Zapdos for taking care of Ground-types,
Electrivive for Dark-types or Magnezone for Rock-types.
