Team Rocket, Magma, Aqua- oh my, which villains to use?

As the title suggests, I'm at a little bit of a loss for my villians for my newest trainer story. And as anyone knows from reading my shattered illusions or whatever I dubbed it, and Angel vs Team Magma, my villians are always villian-y my way. But, I find I don't want to use Magma, as I'm using them in my AvsTM fic, and I'm already using TR too ... but I've got possible plot for them... so anyways just wanna see what others input is for the three choices, spoiled so plot won't be revealed XD

Team Aqua: [SPOIL]Trying to awaken Kyogre or melt the polar ice caps to flood the world and bring about the devistation to the 'land lovers'. I don't know which one I will use yet, if I use TA, but it'll probably be the easier one, if more cliche/over done. TA trying to awaken Kyogre as not to sure how I'd bring about an evil plot to melt the polar ice caps XD[/SPOIL]

Team Rocket: [SPOIL]Giovanni's moved in on Hoenn as TA and TM squabble like two little gangs of five year olds, and he basically does what TA and TM were trying to do, and succeeds. Gaining controll over the two titans, and the character has to take the dangerous journey of trying to track down/find Rayquaza, or locate the orbs that TA and TM stole before the brats brake them.[/SPOIL]

Other: A villian of my own design, plot, and etc. OK. To clear things up. The 'Other' is NOT A MAFIA. NOT A TEAM ROCKET WANNA BE. NOT A TEAM AERO THING. NOT ANYTHING TEAM THEMED. IT IS ONE VILLIAN. ONE ._. ok?

I think that team rocket would likely be the most interesting of the three. Especially if you plan on combining Aqua and Magma along with them. However, Team Aqua alone might be a nice idea too, if you maybe look into the ice caps idea. Hmm, maybe it might be an idea to weigh up the ideas you have for both, and then list the best ones from there, and also maybe look at the advantages of using one over the other and things like that?

Another villain would also be something to look at, becuase if yout hink about it, you could come up with a totally new character and pretty much just make him or her your own. Ohhh... I dunno :< I suck at this sometimes ;___;

It would all be interesting if they just make a new story line instead of building on the old ones all together. That is why I picked a new Team.

Team Rocket's pretty open ended, so I'm voting for them. They can be written in a lot of ways.

I would say create a villein of your own. That way, writing with them will be more flexible and you won't have to worry about mantaining there personnalities from the games and anime.
Plus, it would be more original that way, and originallity is something you should never fear the use of.

I say Team Rocket, creating a villian of your own is all fun and stuff... but I do so enjoy Team Rocket. At least what they could be, and I know you can portray them the way I think they would be in real life. Or at least like the godfather or something... *never saw it*

I mean you can make TR perfectly original, as Giovanni has potential to be uber ebully ebulness.

Though perhaps there is another way to take it with TR involved, involving your own villian along with it or something.

But all in all, I suggest you do a nice original team. Set it apart from the others, make it non-conform! And while you're at it STICK TO ONE-TWO FICS!!

Well, judging by your style of writing, I think you'd do a better job of TA. But reading the spoilers, the TR idea would probably more interesting on second thought.

IceKing, Ren said that if she uses a self made villain, it wont be apart of a team I just think since TR is actually one of the more easier to devolpe into your own thing villains I'd go with them.

Course Giovanni is filthy rich which just gives him bonus points among women << >> I bet he was a stud younger too... *runs*

Using existing villains is fine, but I prefer to use them in tandem with new ones.......cutting the same shapes from a different cloth, if you will.

Look at Lovrina, Snattle, Gorigan and Ardos being in Enigma Shadow, for example. Old characters, new organization.

*stares at above post* I assume you can't read if you post something like that. In a trainer fic, the story revolves around a human trainer. Human 'good guy' needs HUMAn 'bad guy'. It wouldn't make sense to have Pokémon 'bad guys' unless it's something along the lines of Mewtwo or whatever evil genius Pokémon mastermind could ever fit in. But for a trainer fic, Pokémon 'bad guys' are a no-no.
And if you're too daft to read, Ren's choices included ONLY Rocket, Aqua or some other villain. She asked for nothing more and nothing less. >>



Anyhoo, I say you go with Team Rocket. The plot seems more interesting, and it's easier to play with, expand and build. You can twist that plot a lot more, and I've always felt that you have more leeway with Rocket because they can be portrayed however you choose. Plus the plot you chose for them seems much more interesting and engaging, I think it will have more of an appeal.

Yeah, all the teams are seriously overrated.

Take the two evil forces in my fanfic, CORE and (spoilers as it hasn’t been fully revealed yet) [spoil]The Crimson Dawn[/spoil]. While CORE kind of falls into the “team” category, [spoil]The Crimson Dawn[/spoil] are a [spoil]religious cult who despise all Pokémon and await the day they will wake up to a “crimson dawn,” a.k.a., the extinction of all Pokémon on the planet.[/spoil] Try thinking outside the box, it won’t hurt if you attempt something new. Well, unless you fail miserably at it.

On that note, why are Pokémon acting as the evil force so bad, Psychic? Just because it’s different, doesn’t mean it can’t work. Being a trainer fic doesn’t mean you have to adhere to any sort of predefined rules, and in fact a unique idea such as the evil force not being human is precisely the difference that can help differentiate a good trainer fic from all the other random clichéd fics out there.

I admit I would have a hard time seeing pokemon being evil. And Mewtwo really wasn't evil.... just very misguided and abused. But he could be seen as evil. I view most pokemon like animals. Animals are not evil, so I have a hard time accepting most pkmn as evil.

And besides, would you really want to see a pkmn story about an evil pokemon? Because it wouldn't get the chance most criminals would get. It would be destroyed like Old Yeller...

And I really don't want to write the death of an animal

Hehehe... While they won’t be acting on their own, my fanfic is going to have Pokémon that are pure evil in the future. So yes, I do want to see a story, my story, about evil Pokémon. The thing is, you just have to have a good explanation as to why they are evil.

It’s a good thing I have no problem writing death scenes, including those of Pokémon (as is quite obvious with all the violence and gore I’ve had in my last two chapters *cough*). I suppose your ability to make Pokémon evil depends on your overall writing style and morals.

Well, I think it might be cool to have a sinister corporation as the evil team. It could work if well done. Maybe have this corporation be a front for TR.
Maybe a front for a new team. Also, you could have the enemies be a mafia-esque organization.
Pokemon aren't animals. Usually they are portrayed as being at the same level of intelligence as humans. Some authors have even made them smarter. It is possible to have an "evil" Pokemon, if you mean it wants to kill or maim the protagonist. The best way to pull it off would be to have a Pokemon that badly wants to be a human, and will do absolutely anything to effect the transformation.
