Deeply Sorry if this sounds too Hi-Tech, but do you think that with all of the thunderbolts from pikachu, that team rocket, or anyother person who gets zapped with an electrical attack will have a stopped heart, or at least an irregular heartbeat after the attack? I don't want to hear the answer: "Cuz it's TV"

It's not the Voltage that does the real damage. It's the current. A Vandagraph Generator generates a couple million volts but it has very little current so it doesn't affect your heart. So my guess is that Electric Pokemon attacks have a lot of voltage but little current.

Well, that's what you're going to hear. It's a cartoon. That's what happens. I didn't hear people whining and praying that Tom would be OK after being cut into pieces by Jerry in the Tom and Jerry cartoons, or how cartoon characters can be murdered and be in the very next episode.

Why don't you ask how Ash hasn't suffered third-degree burns from Charizard and such. It all comes down to it being a cartoon.

Ya, that's why I figured as much. I knew i was going to get a few of those posts.

EDIT: Also, How is this kind of electricity different from the electricity from outlets? If we discovered electricity from natural lightning and physics, and pikachu has the ability to create those thunderstorms, and people get injured from stray lightning, how could pikachu generate an electricity that doesn't injure people, but can create storms that can injure people.

Sorry if it kinda goes in circles, im too much of a debater

I really haven't thought about Charizard, since he hasn't been on recently but that's a thought. I know it is a cartoon, but i'm just trying to get opinions

But even so, if an electrical current runs through you, you'd burn to death before it'd affect your heart.

I would think that you would only get burned to death if there wasn't liquid on or in you, but since blood is a few nanometers away from the contact, it would usually conduct it, eventually, to the heart

Hmmmm...that makes sense.

But when it all comes down to it, it's just a cartoon. So anything can happen.

Im sorry darkchu but I have to say it: Its just an anime/tv show.

You don't see Jessie, James or Meowth having heart problems so obviously there is nothing wrong with their hearts. Pikachus electricity obviously has no
affect on them.

Doesn't post often
I wish their hearts stopped.

So hot he's on fire.
So do I.

But god, what the hell. Obviously he wanted some kind of debate about it or at least a discussion. Like what TBA was trying to do. (omg agreeing lol)

You people coming and being all 'lol its TV st00pid lol', THANK YOU FOR BEING A BROKEN RECORD. You can GO now.

I've always wondered this myself. XD Electric shocks...to be blunt, CAN'T be good for you in those volumes. :3

Basically, there is nothing wrong with Team Rocket's cardiovascular system despite the fact they've been shocked by Pikachu a gazillion times. Afterall, if they do we would see it.

I've noticed that TR doesn't seem to be getting directly hit as much anymore. It's usually Pikachu hits some object around them(balloon, machine, or even the ground), and the explosion is what causes the blast-off. Back in Johto and Kanto there was a bit more of TR actually being electrocuted. Perhaps parents complained that it was inhumane or something, and the writers had to tone it down ¬_¬

And being blasted into the stratosphere by random things exploding isn't?

I agree that people should stop saying "it's a cartoon", since several anime can get pretty serious and realistic at times (you know, if you get past the magical or science fiction elements already established in a series), with Pocket Monsters being no exception. Rocket Dan, however, are comic relief, and more often than not, they just seem to get involved in a slapstick routine... however, it does seem a bit odd when the slapstick starts to effect the more serious parts of the storyline. Case and point, Nyaasu unlocking Ryuu's cage and stating he's grown used to electric shocks thanks to his experience with Pikachu for all these years.

...NINE-THOUSAND!!!!
yes, if Pikachu could turn a Pokemon Center to rubble when it was still young, it could probably be an A-Bomb substitute in real life.

The Pokedex says that Raichu has to stick its tail in the ground to discharge excess electricity. So how much control do you think Pikachu has over its electric abilities? How much can it control the voltage? Heck, it can control the direction the lightning moves through mid-air.

There's no doubt the reason people can live through all of these dangerous Pokemon attacks is the fact that it's just TV, but there's one occurence that comes to mind that sort of breaks that tendency, which is this: Even though Charizard's Flamethrowers, or any other fire attack for that matter, doesn't permanently harm Ash, how come it was such a desperately dangerous situation when TR was going to burn Ash with the official Moltres flame of the Indigo League? Remember, with the grasshopper mech?

It all really depends on the situation. But for the most part, the writers can easily get away with this kind of thing on account of it being a cartoon, which isn't really a big deal.
