Team Rocket's Counterattack (1234)

Queen Cynthia

Dignified Queen of Sinnoh
So, this was supposed to be Team Rocket's final episode and it all ends with a "That's it for us!" ?? Hard to believe!
I guess many fans, including myself, already seem to be disappointed about MPM because it hasn't really lived up to our expectations yet. But sending off Team Rocket, some of the most iconic characters of the franchise that way? That would be terrible if you ask me and even the writers who did a lot of things wrong during the Masters Eight must know it and can't be that stupid!
No, that simply can't be the end of Team Rocket and there's bound to be some happy ending for them or at least some farewell scene they actually deserve. Let's not give up hope until the last episode!

Anyways, the plot itself was written well and I guess it must have been TRio's smartest and most elaborated plan for ages. I wished their Pokemon from OS had returned as well!
Also, what I really liked was the cliffhanger between this week's and next week's episode. Now this is gradually becoming the kind of series that comes to your mind when you think of a title like "Aim to be a Pokemon Master". Too bad it's only two more episodes to go...

Almighty Zard

He has returned.
i really don't know what to say after watching this, the ending was too abrupt, but it would honestly feel just as abrupt for them to show up again later like that didn't argument at the end happen at all.

Yeah, that Psychic animation was just horrible. I'm not exactly someone who will analyze things frame for frame, but that was so noticeable I couldn't help but laugh at just how bad that looked. That was literally just a still image. You know what that reminds me of?

I think they got it half way right with this episode since they had a plan and their reserves got to participate.

However, I think it needed.

1. A definitive conclusion for TR (Disbanded to go after their dreams or arrested).
2. Longer battle sequences.
3. If TR gets a conclusion, Giovanni should be involved in some capacity.
4. At least one more episode to properly conclude the above.

Again, I think people are misinterpreting the episode due to conclusions they jumped to back when it got announced. It was never meant to be a big finale for the Rocket Gang, Yuyama makes it clear it was just meant to be an episode where the old Rocketmons return because he wanted to do an episode where that happened. And the scene at the end he laughingly describes as "breakup-related drama that's the kind of slapstick inherent to the Rocket Gang".

Maybe the episode would've been better received had it happened a few weeks earlier?

This is what I what I didn't want to see happen since I'm not a fan of these Team Rocket splitting up types of episodes; I unfortunately am expecting them to come back and return back to the status quo of chasing after Pikachu by the end of the last episode.

That's probable, but this leaves many question ahead of the true final episode and something to Rocket fans to look on

About the episode that Psychic was awful if this was the last Blast off it was pathetic. You can even pause the screen and see they make the same expression...

Third I love how they remember all their "Graduated Pokemon" (I love this therm) really happy and then Mimikyu in one of his rampage sprees.

Fourth and most important, not bringing Mime Jr with James to Kalos was a huge mistake, I always felt that James was missing something during the last years and it was Mime Jr, they are so perfect.

I don’t know it it was meant to be a big finale or not since I wasn’t paying attention to what Yuyama said about the episode, so my opinion of what the episode should be is not based on a interpretation of his words, but in my opinion it would have been better if they had went in the direction of giving TR a conclusion.

(You just said something so weird.)
I just know the sudden, half-******* breakup is not really meant to be serious.

What I have a huge problem with is Latias being the start of it. She just wasn't needed to be in this particular episode.

I actually thought Mime Jr's deception was a good way to break the myth that only humans are bad and bad Pokemon don't exist. Latias needed to learn that before she became an anti-human bigot...

There should be a special where Mime Jr and the banana eating Togepi team up for some kind of evil plan.

No the break-up at the end is meant to be more serious than usual, because as much as certain denialists are denying, this is intended as a grand Team Rocket finale, but in this case it's a grand penultimate chapter, we'll have to see if they even bother Ash in episode 11 and I'm leaning towards no, this was still the final time TRio fights Ash Ketchum

Animation was generally mediocre but not even close to being the worst in any regard

I did not have any problem with the animations with the exception of the PNG blastoff.

Also this was probably the last Team Rocket focused episode. And it was a good one.

Grass type FTW
Ash be like:"You use Pokemon from Sinnoh and Kalos? then i'll do the same."
if TRio do reunite, i hope they will no longer try to catch Pikachu, but do something else instead.

This ending though, woooohh. Usually when they do this it's usually at the start of the episode, not the end. I'll say this when this show does cliffhangers, I'm generally shocked alot of the time. Good going TR. Now will they show up in the finale or not?
