They look more like people who would take their island's culture and bend it to their own mission much like a religious fanatic.
Lillie being a member of the Alolan royal family and being kidnapped for random would be great
I can't help but wonder if the island trials has to do with the royals, like maybe by becoming champion you get to join their family (maybe by marriage (not that I think GF would introduce player marriage into the game))

Perhaps Lillie could've been kidnapped by Team Skull but she was eventually set free; however, she could have Stockholm's Syndrome and could do whatever they want her to do, so therefore she is evil. I was also thinking that there could be some sort of a "mastermind" behind Team Skull and the leader is actually doing what the mastermind wants. The mastermind wishes to remain anonymous, but there could be an epic scene where it is revealed to be Lillie and she has betrayed the player! I just want her to be evil in some way, haha. ^-^

My initial guess is they will be a pokemon version of some kind of a death cult.
And I don't think that would be beyond the scope of a pokemon game, given we've twice had teams that wanted complete/almost complete genocide.

I'm not expecting much from Team Skull but I hope they're genuinely evil instead of posers in a suit.

I'm pleasantly surprised by Team Skull! AAAH, I love them! <3
The characters look reeeeeaaaalllly nice. The boss looks rather young, compared to previous team bosses, which I think is a good thing. He seems a lot more colorful and 'cool' than the likes of Lysandre, Cyrus and Ghetsis. I am disappointed that the boss is once again male, but I will say, Plumeri looks like she's here to take lives. To think this is how she'll look when you battle her, AAAAAH! <3
The grunts look very nice: I'm always here for more bandana. The black outfit with the white details and coral pink/ocean blue hair is such a beautiful contrast. Love it! I won't be cackling at their horrible fashion choices like I was with Team Galactic and Team Flare grunts.
I also like their name and their possible relation to death/eternal darkness/necromancy. They have the potential to bring out something cool for them. Let's hope they don't miss their shot.

Team Skull looks legitimately evil. Wasn't there a rumor going around that the evil team's plan was to covert all of Alola into a resort? I'm not sure what rumor that came from and whether or not it was discredited.
Team Skull don't seem like the sort who would be interested in running a resort

With all the alchemy connections going around, I hope their plans surround alchemy, maybe the whole creating azoth thing I mentioned before.
To be honest, a plan to create azoth sounds pretty dark. As always, Solgaleo and Lunala are involved, but what about Zygarde?
Zygarde completes itself to keep an ecosystem from going out of whack, something an attempt to create azoth would cause. This could point further to the idea that Lillie came from Kalos to protect Alola. Well, if that's true, we now know from who.

They seem like the kind of guys that would order for your heart to be ripped out to appease the gods, or some sort of pirates.
I hope it's the pirates and not doing human sacrifices to summon/appease the emissaries of the Sun/Moon.

Seeing as the names of both the boss and the girl member of Team Skull are death related, yeah, then I pretty much called their necromancy/shamanic theme from the start. Works perfectly seeing as, again, Alola is life-themed, and is teeming with life.
Team Skull, the name alone, says everything about them.
