I do like the grunge leader and the admin is fine. As long as they aren't the basic 'stealing Pokemon' and actually have some charecter and a better story I could really get behind them.

Hmm, maybe Team Skull wants to use the box cover legend to move the sun out of the way so that Alola can be in perpetual cold darkness? Like the usual depiction of a cursed island in movies, dark and stormy.

Sounds like a fitting place for a team like them.

Yeah, because they look like a mix of pirates and necromancers and/or shamans. Seeing as GF stated that Alola revolved around life itself, Team Skull could be a evil team trying to disrupt the balance of life found in the region. That, and a name like "Team Skull", pretty much links them to a sort of "death" theme, seeing as skull symbols are often used to represent the concept of death.

......Life and Death theme again? Are they really trying to make up for the missing Z? :p

It can be. Xerosic was initially shown to be the leader of Flare, but he only turned out to be the right hand man.
He was never shown to be the leader, it was just made clear that out of all the scientists he was the most important. If the scan says he's the leader, he's the leader

I love their designs, the girl looks great.
You think they'll be Duskull users?

Well, I guess so....I think. I mean Masuda did tell that Alola was teeming with life, so that is why they went with the Sun and Moon motif, seeing as the Sun is also a source of power that empowers Life. I mean, if you get a team called "Team Skull", the first thing that comes up in anyone's mind, is of course the symbolism of Death. That much can't be denied. More, if you look at Team Skull, from appearance alone, they truly look like a bunch of pirates crossed with necromancers and/or shamans. The latter would fit with Alola's culture, making them Pirate Shamans of some sort.

Well that name was not what I was expecting. team Skull. I like the look of the grunts. Still need a better look at the two leaders. I wonder what their mission is going to be?

Ayy, evil team.

Skull looks promising, hopefully they'll be received better than Flare. They also seem like another straight up evil team, instead of the usual "make the world a better place by using unorthodox methods". I hope we hear at least a tiny tease of what they're doing in the Friday trailer.

I like the name team Skull. If they're really a bunch of pirates, it'd be so cool.
Not so much w/ their appearance. Looks like some street thugs in Bronx.

i'm really excited about these guys, they feel like they have a lot of personality, like the rest of gen 7 does. i'm excited to hear more about the leader's personality, i love his pose & expression from what we can see so far

That's exactly what I thought when I seen them, a leader with personality is long overdue and get see these guys filling the hole of arrogant character you just want to beat everytime.

A while back I made a lengthy post guessing that the evil team's plans would be to disrupt the players journey/pilgrimage - The Island Trial - in order to break a tradition which preserves the balance of life force within the Alola region.
Whilst not all of this fits now (Information seems to suggest anyone can partake in the Island Trial, not just a special few trainers) I'm still willing to bet that Team Skull is doing something akin to this to disrupt the natural balance of life force within the Alola region.
I guessed the name was going to be Team Pulse, so I was close with the life themes I guess. Just this team definitely seems to be themed more around a lack of life.

So, Team Skull it is!
I like the team's name and appearance.
I'll sort out my thoughts on them:

Plumeri: She looks exteremly sexy, but also scary with that angry face.
She probably is an Admin and from what I can tell, she might be an exteremly strong trainer.
Looking forward to more news about her!

Guzma: He totally looks a pirate with that getup, which in turn gives him a threatening appearance.
For some reason he reminds me of Archie and I wonder if their personality will be similar....
I wouldn't mind honestly, for I loved Archie's character! :D

Grunts: Loving their outfit! They look more menacing compared to the previous teams' grunts.
The similarities between them and the pirates cannot be ignored, nonetheless I think that they have a certain degree of originality.

Plan: Don't know honestly...
I wonder if they will even make use of Lunaala and Solgaleo...

Anyone else here think Guzma looks like Prof. Willow from Pokemon GO?

Design-wise;

  • Guzma: Very-well designed, love the sun(and moon?)-glasses.
  • Plumeri: Shelly 2.0. Love her, but reminds me Punk Girl in X/Y.
  • Grunts: Totally likeable, especially with their skull bandanas.

Plot may center around a tie between Team Skull and a rich, well-respected, guy from the Royal Family. The guy, perhaps?, provides money and funds for Team Skull to cause a mess in the region without centering himself in the plot in order to not to damage his reputation among the community. Can be tied to Lillie, as her elegant style matches with a royal theme. Team Skull's aim might be ending the Pokémon extinction in the region; relating it to how the living creatures are consuming Sun's and Moon's energy, resulting Solgaleo and Lunala to not to show their full power or similar situations. It is really hard to anticipate by looking into their designs and predict their main goal.

Again, I still think Lillie's father will be some rich dude. Maybe she's part of the royal family, if not heir.

Guzma is named after a flower that dies after flowering while Plumeri is named after a plant associated with death and graveyards in some Pacific Islander cultures. Make of that what you will.

Well, looks like they will be Ghost-type specialists.
They could indeed be a group of shaman. Fitting for a region that has a traditional and spiritual culture brimming and inspired by the concept of "life/life force".
