Teddiursa and it's sprites?

This is just a small curiosity I've had for a while now and I was just wondering if anyone has an answer or wondered about the same thing.

Tessiursa is the only Pokemon outside the Kanto region (excluding Deoxys for obvious reasons) that has 3 sets of sprites. 1 for R/S, 1 for E and 1 for FR/LG. Why is this? Did a programmer really like Teddiursa when making the game and thought he'd put it in for fun? Does it have some odd meaning?

I'm just curious so if anyone has an answer, please answer.

I knew about that Teddiursa thing, but I never thought about it. I bet someone accidently did an extra sprite for it, but nobody wanted to waste it.

Maybe they did it just to mess with people's heads to where they make thread about why there are 3. I'm curious myself.

Maybe they didnt like the sitting down one for the R/S. So decided to switch it to the FR/LG sprite. But in Emerald, the starting Sprite is always the R/S so they couldnt use the FR/LG sprite. Im guessing that.

The answer is obvious if you think about it. If GAMEFREAK hadn't made a new Teddiursa Sprite, then we wouldn't have these lovely little threads filled with confused people =D

Honestly, I dunno. I heard once that R/S Teddiursa is a lot more difficult to manipulate than the FR/LG one, but if that were true, then the FR/LG would've been carried over to Emerald =/ So that ends that theory.

EDIT: Dern you, Banette, you beat me to the joke 8<

My personal opinion is that one of the spriters just thought Teddiursa was cute.

That is really odd...I can't really see the reason for it, maybe they just like Teddiursa

I think he's talking about Advanced Sprites...

Anywhays, the answer to this question is quite obvious. Clearly they made a Teddiursa Sprite for Fr/Lg as a way to show they're going to remake Gold and Silver! 8D *shot repeatedly*

I don't know...what's stranger is Teddiursa isn't even catchable in Fr/Lg [except in Altering Cave...which, let's be honest, isn't happening for most people].

You can catch Teddiursa in Emerald as well.

The point I was trying to make is why they would do a Fr/Lg Sprite of a Johto Pokemon not even catchable in the games it's made for...

Hmmm... it can't be because it was cute, because then others who are very cute compared to teddiursa, like togepi. Pokemon Jump may also be the reason. Or Gamefreak likes us confizzled.

Same with Quilava.

I don't agree with the sprite having something to do with Pokemon Jump. Look at Vulpix, it's sitting down, and it's able to be in the mini game. Yup, it's confusing. I thought about this earlier (before the U.S. release of FR/LG), but I lost curiosity after about 3 seconds.

The thing is, Vulpix is a quadroped, while Teddiursa walks on its 2 feet.

Actually, the Pokemon Jump bring up a good point. That could actually be the reason as to why Teddiursa's Sprite is different. It would look just plain wrong to have it jump while it's sitting down and turning its head around to the screen. Cheap too...
