Dont, move, a muscle
Sorry this post took too long, but I had no time this weekend to go on serebii for more than a few minutes. Would you mind if I edited my sign-up? I just want to add some things to his history, and another portian to his powers.

Also, I don't want to make whiplash a huge part of any RP because she doesn't belong to me. She belongs to a Serebii member named Musical Mayhem, and while I sent her a vm asking if I could use whiplash, she hasen't been on in 2 years. So just in case she comes back, I want to avoid any potential issues.

I'll post something in the disscusion thread tonight though. I've got some ideas you might be interested in hearing.

Perfectly alright, and I see now.

Donut your character is fine. He's not really overpowered considering the opposition. If you'd like to format it go ahead, but if you'll be changing stuff we gotta look you over again.

Would be nice if people would move non signup stuff to the discussion thread. It's lonely.

Here is the villain you wanted:

Singup form

Name and Last Name (If you have one): Unknown
Hero or Villain: Villain
Super Hero/Villain Alias: The Butcher

Age: Unknown, somewhere between 2 and 3 centuries old.

Gender: Male

Description: This character is... Vile. Butcher is bald, with greasy Brown skin, as he is black. He has never bathed in 14 decades. Despite his actual age, he looks as if he is in his thirties. He has one robotic cyborg eye, pure red, and a metallic scar above his eye which looks like an iron eyebrow. He has hands that are removable, and transformer into a butcher's cleaver. His teeth are also metal. His good eye is dark brown. He stands at 7"6ft tall, and weighs 700lbs approx.

Personality: He is evil. He relishes pain, and loves torture. He mercilessly cuts down his enemies, and sometimes his allies. Whatever gets in his way. He is one of the most feared commanders of Shade. His arch nemesis is Renegade.

Background/History: Much about Butcher is unknown. No one really knows when he was born, but it is thought that it was around the time of Jack the Ripper. The butcher saw jack as an idol, and all throughout history, he has been involved in some of the bloodiest massacres in history. It is said he was the mystery funder of Adolf Hitler, and during world war 2, he Tortured poor souls to their graves, within the heart of Nazi occupied Germany. He also pops up vaguely around the COld war. He then disappears, and re-appears in 2014

The Butcher was the person that was part of the bomb that was released at the White house in America, and blew up the peace summit held in Brussels. It is said, that he was the one who stole the Last Prime Minister of Great Britain's 3 year old infant son, and burned the child, before slashing out its stomach, and pulling out the still live boy's entrails, as the child was on fire, and smearing them over his face. He then through the burning, bleeding carcass of the child who was so close to death, to his pet Komodo Dragon, to finish off. The prime Minister shot himself with a pistol a thirty seconds after the video was released on YouTube.

The butcher was the first person to join the battle to take the city, along with the Shade, and it is said that the reason each member of the Renegade is given a cyanide pill, is because that if you are caught by either Madame Mist, or Butcher, then you do not want to endure the experience.

Superpower(s)/Special Abilities/Etc: He has retractable weaponry on his arms, including flamethrowers, butchers knives etc, and has other cyborg feature, such as super strength, and scanning abilities within his eye.

Member of the Renegades: No

List your job, designation, position, or duties in the Villain community: Combat general, Butcher is assigned to Full on assaults, whilst Madame Mist (see other Registration) is usually used for night, spec or black ops.

Roleplay Sample: I have removed this Per Bron's instructions, as it is historically inaccurate story-wise

Other: The butcher murdered Renegade's one, true friend, before he met Starfire. The butcher would love to kill Starfire, as he sense that she is the closest thing they both have to 'Friends'

I will also submit a form for the Mysterious Madame Mist, if you need her as an extra villain. Thumbs up to Zalck for Captain Reaction, and to Food Guy for LifeBane, hope I didn't insult your characters, I just used them to create a good monologue. This character is available to any who wants to play it, and Hopefully it has created 2 new villains for the storyline, both Generals or High rankers

@ THEIRONDONUT

Personality is a little on the short side, but everything else checks out and looks good. FINALLY we have a second villain. It's about time people were a little more open to playing with their evil inside.

Also, I'd love to see a form for Madame Mist. That would be great.

Anyway, The Butcher is Accepted.

Well, I'm coming in with a new character. A demonic fox who's as sly as a fox.

Name and Last Name : N/A... yet.
Hero or Villain: Villian
Hero/Villain Alias: The Yoko
Age: Unknown, but between 2000 and 3000 years.
Gender: Male
Description: The Yoko's shapeshifting skills allow him to take various forms. Of course, he has a default form.

The Yoko's default form is feral in appearance. He resembles - no - is a fox that is the size of an average human, which is rather big for a fox, although he can grow bigger in 'combat mode' He possesses nine long tails, all of which are three quarters his length in proportion, although they do grow longer sometimes. His four legs are all slender in appearance. The fur that coats his body is a shiny, golden hue that is so shiny and golden, one could easily mistake it for actual gold itself. His menacing eyes are chaos black with blood red pupils. There is an odd, scarlet pattern on his back that reads '4' in Japanese. When his mouth is opened, one can see two full sets of carnivorous teeth, ready to chow down some prey. Black-hued flames are often seen veiling his body when in combat.
Personality: The Yoko is a very stealthy and cunning fox, literally. He enjoys sneaking up on others and performing sneak attacks. This is natural with him being a predator. The only thing he likes more than stalking and devouring his prey, is having his sweet revenge on his old foe Tamae. Being sealed away for almost a thousand years, he feels extremely alien to his new surroundings, although his careful nature helps. While careful, he can sometimes be aggresive in combat, attempting to rip his prey into pieces violently like paper. While he claims to only devour 'worthy opponents', this nature of his can sometimes cause him to be so hungry that he consumes citizens, or even animals.

Surprisingly, he treats his minions like loyal friends and allies. He puts faith in everything they do, since they are, after all, old friends.
Background/History: Yoko was born a zenko, a kitsune embodying good and justice. He was born in a shrine built to worship to fox god Inari. He was naturally skilled in the art of the flames of justice since young. Formerly, he used to have a crush on Kotamae's mother, who was also a kitsune, who went by the name Tamae. Yoko wanted to confess his true feelings to Tamae. That was, until Tamae was found dating a blacksmith. Jealous of their love, Yoko's heart turned chaos black, before transforming from a pseudo-god to a demon fox. He brutally murdered the blacksmith, before proceeding to rampage about the village, for he developed a hate for mankind. Tamae eventually used her superior skills to defeat Yoko, before sealing him in a demon jar created by the blacksmith, never to be seen again...

Or is it?

Tamae possessed this jar for almost a thousand years. After her new husband and master Gin Furukawa and her moved to Jump City to settle down, she dug a deep hole and gently placed this demon jar inside it, before covering it. Over time, a museum was built atop it. Tamae told tales of this wretched beast to her spawn Kotamae, knowing that he will have to one day face the vicious creature - the Yoko.

It is only a matter of time before the Yoko rises from his thousand year slumber, ready to terrorize the already-terrorized Dark City. After all, he does have the help of his three minions...
Superpower(s)/Special Abilities/Etc: The Yoko's primary ability is to manipulate black hued flames he refers to as 'Dark Pyro'. These flames burn harder than regular flames, and hurt twice as bad too, just like a visit to hell. The Yoko has great skill, being able to jump and run at great feats, along with being capable of levitation. His nine tails can stretch for melee combat, although he prefers his razor-sharp fangs. He is capable of hearing and smelling any undetectable thing within a hundred metre radius, although it is not false to say that he can detect scents outside this range. He also possesses shapeshifting abilities for deception, although one with a strong sense of smell who is able to recognise his scent can see through this disguise.

He has a 'combat mode' he has managed to control. It turns him into a humongous fox the size of a bus, and also enhances his skills greatly. This is the state where he is most aggresive.

He has three minions at his disposal - the Nue, Yuki-onna and Yatagarasu.

The Nue has the head of a monkey, body of a racoon-dog, legs of a tiger and a tail that is a snake. It is considerable in size, about the size of a tiger. This creature can disappear into a sort of mist, which allows the team to escape in times of emergency. The Nue, possesing great, herculean strength, is specialised in melee combat.

Yuki-onna is a humanoid, feminine yokai wearing a white kimono. Yuki-onna is a mistress of ice, being capable of controlling frost itself. She has enough skill to make it snow within a certain radius of 100 metres, which can be a problem for those with thin clothes. The ice shards she launches have a ridiculously great range and great accuracy, although they can be countered quite easily, thus often used as a feint.

Yata-garasu resembles, and is the size of, a crow, with the exception of possessing three legs instead of two. He is naturally skilled in flight, and can shoot a powerful beam of energy with moderate range, but can only do so by harnessing the Sun's solar energy.
Species: Kitsune
Member of the Renegades: No
List your job, designation, position, or duties in the Villain community: N/A, for now, he wishes to work with his minions. He will think about joining Shade's cause. After all, he recently woke up from some ancient slumber, so it will take a while for him to be familiar with the place.
Others: He is the archnemisis of Kotamae Furukawa, although there is no doubt that he will 'take a break' from him and temporarily pursue other heroes.
He is seeking revenge on Tamae by destroying her son Kotamae.

Everything looks good, Yoko looks pretty badass. The minions are a pretty nice touch, also.

Accepted and good to go. Great to see more villains, finally.

THEIRONDONUT

Here is the second part of Shades commander double-whammy: I am prepared to play these characters, but I will focus mainly on Renegade. Here she comes.

Singup form

Name and Last Name: Marie Antoinette

Hero or Villain: hero.... KILLER! of course she's a villain! :)

Super Hero/Villain Alias: Madame Mist

Age: Her physical age is about late 20's,

Gender: Female

Description: She is a mutant Villain, but her mutation is unlike the deformed freakish mutations of the minions at the villains disposal. Rather thank having bubbled skin, 2 heads, or anything like that, her mutation is... Art. In her normal form, she appears with Fangs, a pale white face with high cheekbones, and dark green retina's with black pupils. She looks quite beautiful. She is quite slim, with an agile frame. He has black hair, weighs in at 100lbs, and is 5"6ft. When her powers are inactive, she relies on her Silver Katana, with a black widow etched onto it...

But when Her powers are activated, that is quite a different story. Her Retinas darken to black, and invade her whole eyes, as well as the areas around the eyes turning black. He sprouts four extra arms, which can shoot webs like steel, which very little things can break through. She also grows a scorpion tail, and her fangs grow much longer. She usually wears a black mask, similar to Mewtwo's mask. On each hand, she has the gloves from Mewtwo's armour, and her Katana changes into 2 swords, with green tipped blades, which can shoot green plasma bolts, and are acidic to the touch.

Personality: Madame Mist is very secluded. She will only talk to people who need to hear. SHe has great respect for Shade, as Shade does for her. They both are strong Females, and can only be defeated by a select few. Even Shade will admit, that her close combat fighting is next to none compared to Madame Mist, though Mist knows that Shade would beat her in a battle.

She has the fear of the Renegades, more so than Butcher, and Maybe even Shade herself. Shade regards her as an equal human, and not just a puppet to do her dirt work, like The Butcher. Mist is the only Person Shade will not act childishly toward, as she knows Mist means business. Marie Antoinette was a girl of fear, Innocence, and Divine Beauty.

She did not care for her looks, and always look forward to the world. But Marie died the same day as the Freedom in the city died. And from the Darkness, was born the Mist. She will slaughter all in her path, and will stop at nothing to slay any who dares question her. She only has a bond with her Leader. She will only follow Shade, and will fight until death.

Background/History: Marie Antoinette was born in a small village near the Alps, on a date unknown. It was a long time ago though, as people did not have technology at all, say about the year... 1750? That is the estimated date anyway. One day, her father called her outside to look at something. It was a spider weaving a web.

It was a Black Widow. It wasn't supposed to be in France, which made Marie scared, but her father smiled. He picked up her spider, and chanted the words 'Arachne Bondum Tosoulay infinatum'. The spider then stung Marie, where she, rather than begin to die, she began to slumber. As she fell asleep, her father whispered to her: 'The spider is within you. You will be safe. The spider will weave it' Mist around you, and when the time is right, you will be Reborn. The Prophecy will be fulfilled...' After she was asleep, the spider began to weave a cocoon around her, as her father chanted the prophecy.

*When World Falls under Shadow,
The Spider Child walks alone,
Her friend is evil's mighty glow,
Her loyalty courses to the bone.

Yet one may see,
What the other does not,
As her deeds will be,
never forgot,

And Mist will make her Final stand,
to save the creatures of the land,
she will kill and hurt for what is right,
but will uphold the Spider's might,

For shadow doth not know of the black,
that comes from stabbing a spider's black,
and her inner darkness must be slain,
and back to hell, from whence it came,

The Spider's web will be complete,
And it will leave to take its peace..

*********************************************************************************************************************

Marie woke up in Jump City, in a storage crate. She broke through the pulsating web, which was purple. She awoke, around 3 centuries later from when she slumbered. She heard noises, which sounded like a battle ending. She heard some voices. 'Raven, go! Take Nightwing, and go to the-*exploding noise*!!!" I'll meet you there. She looked up from a crack in the basement window, and saw some strange metal human run into the darkness. SHe then heard footsteps, as soldiers where breaking down the houses and setting alight to them.

As the fire burned throughout the basement, marie dived into the closest thing, a barrel full of light green ominous liquid... when the fire had gone, and the fog settled, Marie was dead... And out arose Madame Mist. She joined up with Shade, by killing all of her guards and demanding that she found out where she was, and where her father was... Shade Personally tutored the 20 year old (at least, that was the number of years she had lived and remembered). She was taught to fight by the greatest teacher they had at their disposal. She completely ignored every lesson, and adapted her martial arts for her skills she was taught by the barracks Psychic.

She was Educated by the Psychic, and they explored her mind. It was only a year later they discovered of Mist's abilities, a year before the Renegades formed officially. The forged her own sword, and Madame Mist was Born... She is the scourge of The enemy, and she is the terror of the night. SHe kidnaps children to lower morale, and Turns them into Tokoroth-like creatures. (see The Chronicles of ancient Darkness: Tokoroths). She meditates daily, to try and find inner peace, and to remember who the strange metal man was, and where him and his 'Raven' took their 'Nightwing' (Shade didn't mention them to Mist in her Education.

Superpower(s)/Special Abilities/Etc: Her ability to mutate into a multi-limbed creature, that can shoot webs, climb up walls etc. She also has the ability to use human camouflage, to blend in with her surroundings. she can never age, and is the best being at skilful hand-to-hand combat in the world. (NOTE: I didn't say the best, I just said with the most skill)

Species: Human-mutant (standard issue, not Diamite)... But as far away from the actual definition of human, as you could possibly get... o_O

Member of the Renegades: No

List your job, designation, position, or duties in the Villain community: SHe is a commander of strategy, but seeing as she is a commander nonetheless, she takes part in a number of combat roles: Special Ops, Black Ops, Field Specialist, combat specialist, and Strike force leader.

Roleplay Sample: I have already submitted 2 role plays previously, and will do one for Mist as well, but as I am short on time, I will link it either in an edit, or post it in the RPG cafe thread. Is this OK? please use my other 2 pieces for reference (apologies for the historically inaccurate one for Butcher)

Other: Madame Mist is able to grow up to the size of a range rover, and can extend her limbs to act as legs (see Arachnid on TF prime)

The Prophecy is just something that may tie in with Mist's loyalties, or it may just be some nonsensical babbling from her insane father... Only Time will tell

So...I'm unfortunately going to have to withdraw my reservation. As much as I'd like to get my DC characters some exposure, I've got too much going on in real life to be able to partake in this RP.

Zalck, Captain Reaction is added to the first post and approved to be the second in command. Your writing is good and I like the character being written into the story well like that. We will be starting off from the speech your character gives, as requested.

Donut, you still have stuff about Star and a couple other people's characters in Other for The Butcher, but if you can take that out he's fine.

Madame Mist is approved, pending a change to her origin. Diamite is solid and is not a liquid. How you want to mutate her further than what she had already is up to you, but definitely not by diving into Diamite. Shade doesn't even have any extra Diamite besides what she's already eaten, and it was plenty. If you want to have Mist mutated by Diamite you'll have to settle for it being part of Shade's ability to give powers to others, which is on a timer. See Neo's signup for Shade on the details.

I also wonder how the magic chant mentions good stuff but she ended up being a villain, and remove any mention to the fight 8 years ago. I'd prefer nobody refer to had actually been there close enough to hear names. If you want to have just been there, fine, but no names.

Morpher it's too bad you cant join, but maybe later? Signups will never be closed as long as people can explain how they're showing up "late" so feel free to sign up if you have time down the line later.

I think I covered everybody now?

Unfortunately I'm bad at writing backstories, so I'll put in what I have now and work on the rest tonight and put it in tomorrow.

Name and Last Name: Mila Vom Stein
Hero or Villain: Villain
Super Hero/Villain Alias: Ore (pronounced Oh-ruh, from the Latin Ablative case for Bone)
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Description: Despite her German heritage, she appears to be a younger woman of Asian decent. Standing at 5'9 and only weighing about 135 pounds (when she's not messing around with her bone density), she is a frail-looking young woman, with black hair that she keeps back in a bun behind her head with two ivory chopsticks. Her eyes are grey, which is itself a rarity. Her skin is usually very pale because it is constantly being regenerated, with only a few scars from her earlier training still remaining visible on her hands, forearms, and on her left collarbone, all small circles about the diameter of the bones in their respective areas. She almost always wears non-restrictive clothing, as it would get torn in battle because of her power.
Personality: Mila is a very cold hearted individual. Because her power causes her pain as a side effect, it has dulled her to emotions as a whole, leaving only rage and anger behind. While she embraces her powers and uses them frequently, she is usually quick to point out that she has limits. She prefers to work in a team compared to working alone, as her past experiences have proven that a lone villain is usually a dead villain. She has a pretty heavy dependency on painkillers because she's been using them for the past 7 years as a way to ease the pain caused by her powers, and could possibly be bribed to do anything if a particularly powerful painkiller or a large quantity were to be offerred to her. She tends to be less of a thinker, and prefers to fight with brute force, as shown by her extensive use of bludgeoning weapons when using her bone-constructed weapons.
Background/History: She was born to a German father and a Taiwanese mother, which explains her Asian appearance yet clearly Western attitude and demeanor. When Mila was born, she was born with an advanced form of osteoporosis which was disintegrating her bone mass, despite all conventional medical treatments to try and stave off the process as soon as possible. Due to the intense pain she was usually under, she led a secluded life, often alone or accompanied by parents and medical staff. She lived in Germany for 10 years before her father, a medical researcher, moved to Jump City for his research work. Despite having gotten his doctorate equivalent in neuroscience, when his daughter had been born he went back through his studies to study through the field of orthopedics in order to try and help his daughter. It took several years of research, to the point where Mila was 13 at the time, but he believed he had found a type of medicine which would at least accelerate Mila's bone growth rate to at least negate the disintegration. It had passed through the standards of animal testing, and even other human test subjects had experienced positive results. So nothing could go wrong, right?

Cue the allergic reaction, which did what Mila's father had set out to do, namely stop her bones from disintegrating. However, the adverse effect was that her bones were now growing at impossible rates, often puncturing her skin when there was nowhere else for the bone tissue to grow. The experience was so painful for Mila that she was sedated heavily so that for most of the time between 13 and 14 years old, she was either unconscious, or barely conscious enough to understand what was going on. This was when it was discovered by further medical examination that she could be able to control her bone growth if she wanted to. With this in mind she was sent with painkillers to keep her as sane as possible, to a martial arts teacher, who initially taught her to seek inner peace with techniques with tai-chi, though once Mila found out that she was also able to create basic constructs, she took up fencing as well as fighting lessons in various martial arts to keep herself mentally disciplined as well as explore the way she could use her powers.

Eventually she was able to live a fairly normal life. She was considered by many of her friends to be fairly depressive or irate compared to a normal individual, but this was the only problem which plagued her daily life. However, the Apocalypse coming down on Jump City was the horrifying experience that finally twisted her into the dark person she now is. Because of the eventual collapse of general daily life things that tend to happen with evil masterminds attempting to take over a metropolitan area, it became increasingly difficult for her to find that painkillers required to keep her powers in check. Over time she grew to be a twisted woman, craving anything that can abate the pain of her powers being used, which is her current connection to the villainous organization. Though she often works alone in her operations, she has accepted that her true self lies within the band of villains now in control over The City of the Shadows.

Superpower(s)/Special Abilities/Etc: Broadly described, Osteokinesis; being the power to manipulate the structure, growth rate, density, and similar characteristics of bones within her own body, as well as the bones in others, though with limited effect.

Within her own body, she can grow her own bones into any size and shape she can think of, as well as change the density of the bones as well. This allows her to "grow" weapons made of her own bones from her own limbs, including basic projectiles such as spikes and "bullets" which are extruded at sub-sonic speeds from her body. She can also form basic constructs out of her bones, though larger constructs are more difficult, as they require more material which is essentially her own skeleton. Her most common weapons which she uses tend to be bludgeoning weapons, such as large hammers, clubs, or even large shields with which she can bash other people. While she is proficient enough to make and use swords with ease, it isn't as effective as her standard choices.

To supplement this, she has a very high regeneration rate from most wounds, provided that a foreign physical object doesn't remain within the wound itself, such as a bullet or a needle. This allows her to almost instantly regenerate any amounts of bone tissue that she loses from her own devices, as well as any damage sustained to her by enemies. However, regenerating her bone structure takes a small toll on her total energy, and so she functions as if she had a very high metabolism, needing to eat much more than one would assume for a normal human of her height and weight.

In others, she can only manipulate the actual structure of the existing bone (i.e forcing someone's upper arm to break, tearing fingers off at the knuckles) if she can maintain physical contact for at least a minute. While her main focus with this skill is destructive, she can also use it to provide a temporary fix to potential bone fractures in allies by lining the bones up properly.

The main downside is that whenever she does remove bones from her body, it usually involves breaking the skin at the exit point, which is still fairly painful for her, despite her ability to heal the wound almost immediately. To combat this she relies on painkillers as much as possible without clouding her senses, though this only works to an extent.

Species: N/A
Member of the Renegades: No
If yes to the above, then list your position or duties if you have any: (Military-type Rank, and/or how you usually spend your time)
If yes to the previous two, then do you want to be mutated, if starting out as a human member of the Renegades? (Yes or No)
If not a member, were you planning to join? (For people who show interest, but are not members yet. Does not apply to Villains or evil aligned civilians)

List your job, designation, position, or duties in the Villain community: Due to her simple bone-setting abilities, she can be called upon as a proxy medic, although her powers only effect bones. Her preference to go into straight up fights often gets her sent into the front lines of battle. She generally doesn't give advice or strategic information to any of her superiors, as she is usually busy trying to locate a source of painkillers to use on herself.
Roleplay Sample:

Mila Vom Stein aka Ore
Villains
City of the Shadows, Old Subway Tunnel

The darkness was inviting. Though it was hard to see in, it was a cold harsh embrace that kept her mind off of the pain. That sliding honed pain that was piercing her right forearm in the form of a twisted club with a lethal spike on the end. Though it was reported that some rebels had been forcefully evacuated from the old subway tunnels, it was never wise to travel without some kind of weapon these days. The City of the Shadows was definitely not the glorious Jump City of the past, but it didn't need to be either. In the days before the darkness there had been pain, and there was pain now. The only thing that had truly changed for the Asian-appearing woman was who was in charge. Before the dark times she had been in control. Her mind was her focus, her body, operating against its own survival, was only an instrument to be locked away under focus, discipline, and the battle-ready focus. Now with all of that torn away in the shadow of the new order, the weapon inside her had been unleashed. It was hard to keep the asinine hopes of true Zen, of peace within oneself, when you have to fight off the Diamite-mutated scavengers that threatened every dark corner of the city.

The wind was still in the abandoned tunnel system, as could be expected. However, there was suddenly a sound. A careless splashing that seemed trivial, assuming that one was accustomed to a day and age where the things which go bump in the darkness were confined to the corners of fiction. Clutching the bony club once tighter, she also reached into the pocket of her shorts, quickly swallowing a large red pill that she had won out of a wandering vagrant. The elder gentleman didn't put up much of a fight. Especially once he was silenced after his lower jaw was split in half. Fortunately he had been hoarding some fairly powerful painkillers on him. Enough of a cache to keep her running properly for at least another week. She could already feel the dulled pain, and focused on her skin, and felt as it hardened into a callous layer of bone, which would at least be able to protect her from the most common of attacks. It was usually more than enough to scare off the most common of wandering Diamite-enhanced wannabe heroes.

The splashing moved closer, a slogging step series through the subway tunnel. Finally a large frame appeared, much larger than any normal human. Or at least as normal as humans would appear these days. Once he finally stepped into the light of an open manhole, he was visible. He was a hulking mass of muscle. In his previous life he was probably some overweight bus driver or computer expert. Now it would appear that all of the blubber from his former self was simply converted into raw muscle. With a clamorous roar, he charged, ape-like fists clenched to deliver a powerful punch which would send a lesser man to his grave. However, she wasn't a lesser man. Much less a lesser woman. She was prepared with years of fighting experience, fueled by pain and frustration. Dodging the haymaker punch, she brought the spike of the hammer down behind the back of his head. The wound certainly didn't kill him, as he seemed to be endowed with superhuman durability as well as strength. Staggering his way back to his feet, he cursed loudly.

"Allright hone, you might have gotten the first drop on me, but it'll take much more than that to knock me over." Moving slowly for his next move, he was still too far away for a small move with my hammer to possibly reach him. She grunted with the effort, and focused on her hands, pushing out each knuckles of her fingers out with as much growth-force as possible, the bony bullets flying towards her attacker, too quick for him to dodge. The bullets sank into his skin, causing him to cry out in pain as she quickly closed the distance between them, swinging the hammer with full force. As she struck the large brute squarely in the neck between his shoulder blades, he fell down with a breathless scream, the wind knocked out along with his consciousness. After checking him for any valuables and only finding a few cigarettes and an empty vodka bottle, she continued through the empty dark tunnel.

Just another day in the City of Shadows.

Looks great so far, CF. I mean evil, actually. Please continue, and a Sample would be nice. Although since you're from FB I dunno if it's right of me to ask for one. I'm honored to have people from FB here.

Remember people, touching this character is a bad idea for good guys. Makes me glad Star is almost completely long range.

Edited Mutation, but I would prefer if she still heard the battle. But (forgive me if I didn't explain this properly) she has no idea who Cyborg, Raven or Nightwing were/are, and will not find out until the end, so don't worry about me trying to muscle in by saying 'oh, Mist knows where they are, I'm in charge now' Because she will never know. Shade didn't feel it relevant to educate her on the past (or at least, that aspect of the past) Looking forward to the start of The story, Let's get going!

May I write two charecters? I have a villain in mind, as well as a "henchman" of his that I'm more than willing to write a seperate SU for.

I guess with that explanation it's fine, Donut. Just don't go forcing yourself into finding the old Titans members. That's a no. They're around, but only Neo and I will decide if they show up or when. The only exception is if somebody wants to RP them.

Thegame88, two characters is fine as long as you remember to write for both.

Gotta say that I've been looking forward to another TT RP. Going to reserve for a villain, maybe a neutral. Can a character start out being a Diamite mutant, or is that exclusive to the new heroes?

You don't need to reserve.

Both sides have access to Diamite as a mutation, but the villains do it differently. Shade's powers are Diamite based and she gives temporary powers (10 posts), while Star has some in storage and getting mutated by it is permanent.

Thread will be posted this evening.

Alright, got 'em both done. Probly didn't need two RP samples, but eh, I stuck 'em on there anyway.

Name and Last Name (If you have one): N/A; formerly a villain under the alias of Houl
Hero or Villain: Villain
Super Hero/Villain Alias: Chimera
Age: 29 (physically and mentally about 16)
Gender: Male
Description: For someone with the name of a legendary beast, Chimera is surprisingly short, standing at only five-foot-five. Yet he is by no means small; his bulky, muscular build makes up for any power lost by his height. His quick pace and tall stance gives him an air of confidence and regality, and it’s safe to say that if he wasn’t so short, he’d be looking down at everyone he met.

Dog-like eyes, shaggy brown hair, and a small but exceptionally arrogant smile are all trademarks of his facial appearance. His fangs and the claws on his hands and feet are entirely real, and he files and sharpens them daily in order to keep them in top flesh-ripping condition. Despite being relatively healthy, his skin always takes on a greenish, sickly glow, as though he were the victim of some unknown disease.

True to his name, Chimera is a collection of various animals. All of his clothing is composed of skins and furs from a variety of different creatures – bears, wolves, foxes, and the occasional rabbit can all be found in its patchwork. On his back grow a pair of leathery, bat-like wings, (though they are more useful for gliding than for flying.) A snake carcass hangs from the back to form a tail, and a hood decorated with a pair of curled ram horns and a set of oversized wolf ears complete the wild-boy outfit. Only in the rare times that he feels the need to show respect to another does he take the hood off. Shoes are for squares; no matter the terrain, he always treks barefoot.

Personality: Arrogant, selfish, and quick-tempered are all words that fit Chimera to a ‘T’. Since his stint as an animal-controlling villain by the name of Houl, he’s had a massive boost to his ego, to the point that he could easily be considered as having a god-complex. After all, with his powers, he is something of a ruler in the animal kingdom – and, like any great ruler, should be treated with the fear and respect he so rightfully deserves. Subjects that fall out of line are considered an afternoon snack – rebels, a light appetizer. Any species, animal or human, that falls into his territory is either under his rule or on his dinner plate – no exceptions.

He is a master of carnage. Years of racing through the countryside and cities, killing whatever happens to fall into his path, has left him with a palette that occasionally includes members of his fellow species. Technically, his ravenous hunger is a byproduct of his abilities, but countless years and ever-countless murders have caused him to approve of his killings. To him, non-supers, human and animal alike, are nothing more than food for the dogs – and occasionally, regular super-powered creatures fall into this category as well.

He doesn’t tend to trust, nor does he enjoy being forced into alliances with others. During his days as a lower-class villain, he worked in a few criminal organizations, and none of them helped to advance his goal in becoming the supreme ruler of man and beast. What it did show him, however, was that humans were always looking for someone to take advantage of, and as such, he stays clear of any relationship that would not be beneficial for him. Of course, there are a few lucky individuals that he does not completely despise, and anyone with some form of friendship with him can be guaranteed that he’ll stay out of there way – so long as they stay out of his, of course.

Background/History: A long, long time ago – that is, 20 years – there was a kid with the ability to talk to animals. A kid who was a vegetarian, who stood at the top of his class in academics, and who dreamed about becoming a veterinarian at a zoo, helping animals from all over the world live their lives in peace and good health. He had friends – animal and human – a good family, and, altogether, a good life. And there was nothing – nothing at all – that seemed able to break that reality.

But that innocent ability to talk to animals suddenly transformed into something else. A demon, maybe, or some freakish personality that rose up in the back of his mind. No doctor or psychologist could diagnose it, whatever it was. But it ate him from the inside, took away his health, his knowledge, and his sanity, and left him with an insatiable hunger only able to be quenched by the diet of a carnivore.

He ran off before he could be condemned to an asylum. For years, he lived in the wild, controlled by the sudden bursts of rage and hunger that welled up inside him. Honestly, he never meant to kill anyone. But humans were everywhere, and eventually, during a daze of famish and rage, he found himself with human blood on his hands and an unsettling indifference to the crime he had just committed.

Eventually, he became a rogue super by the name of Houl and ran about terrorizing towns and cities. At some point, he found himself wandering a city in Northern California, where he met the newly-created Teen Titans North, a group of superheroes fighting crime in the city. Several skirmishes occurred between them, and more than once Houl found himself standing on the edge of life and death. Luckily, there was one person compassionate enough to help him – a Titan by the name of Whiplash. She acted like a big sister to him, even when he considered himself a monster, and while he’d never admit to being friends with a human, he… did kind of like her.

He visited the city once more a few years later, but was vastly disappointed when Whiplash was nowhere to be found, and went back to his spree of surplus slaughtering, changing his name to Chimera in the process. His powers mutated once more, turning him into even more of a beast, and, finding no better place for a monster to blend in than the dingy, human-filled Dark City, he crept in and began hunting down the poor humans stuck inside. At one point, he even tried to take over a part of the city, but some mutant by the name of Shade temporarily turned him into a plushtoy and sent him running with his tail between his legs. He’s been in the city for a year now, and while he’s been itching to get a view of the outside world again, he won’t leave until he’s able to wring the neck of that freak Shade.

Superpower(s)/Special Abilities/Etc:
+++ Empathic Presence – There’s a reason Chimera considers himself to be the king of all beasts; because well, in a sense, he is. He is able to both sense and influence the emotions of animals and bestial creatures just by being around them, contorting their senses to bend to his will. Animals tend to swarm to him, and it is easy to identify if he is nearby just by watching the actions of the creatures in his vicinity. Unfortunately, due to his distaste for humankind, it has no effect on were-creatures or intelligent beasts, (though they both may be able to sense the commands he is broadcasting.)

This empathy can be broadcasted in two ways. His presence, of course, is his main method of control, and this passive ability can extend up to a mile without obstruction. In order to summon animals and beasts from farther away, however, Chimera can let out an ear-splitting roar capable of being heard from up to two miles away. Its uses aren’t limited to barking orders, either (no pun intended); the roar is capable of shattering glass, and is perfectly capable of causing people to flitch at close range.

+++ Voracious Bite - By biting into the skin of any living animal, Chimera can sap away the energy of an individual, weakening the victim in the process. This stolen energy can be applied to various things, such as healing minor wounds or renewing Chimera’s physical strength. It is secluded to his own use, however, and cannot be used to heal or strengthen his teammates.

The effect of the Voracious Bite has a profound impact on Chimera’s physical and mental health. Energy collected by the Bite stunts Chimera’s growth and mental development, causing him to appear and act younger than he is. In addition, the Bite’s aggressive influence creates an insatiable hunger which, when left unchecked, leads to erratic and rabid-like behavior.

+++ Evolution - A by-product of Chimera’s influence from the natural world, this passive ability grants Chimera some natural characteristics of certain animals, including above average speed, strength, sense of smell, and sense of hearing – at least in human terms. It also is the cause of his fangs and claws, and the growth of his bat-like wings. Those these characteristics are nowhere near the superpower equivalents of, say, superstrength and superspeed, they are nothing to snooze at, (as being hit with the force of a running tiger or slammed at the velocity of a diving falcon is still powerful in its own right.)

Species: Human (though his appearance could fool you).
Member of the Renegades: Would you want him to be? (That’s a ‘no,’ by the way.)
List your job, designation, position, or duties in the Villain community: A front-linesman, though he considers himself as head of everything that doesn’t happen to be in Shade’s five-mile radius.
Roleplay Sample: From an RP that I used his younger version in:

=^= Houl =^=
Northern Docks, Loading Bay #4

“… the others? Oh… there’s no need to worry. With every battle, there’s always some collateral damage. And besides… a few days in handcuffs will teach them for getting caught so easily.”

The rectangular machine produced a strange garbling and let out a low beep. Frowning, Blackice stepped to the side of the warehouse, turning her back to the water and to the boy and his dog sitting at the edge of the docks.

Houl and the woman had been waiting in the northern docks for some time, hidden behind one of the many grey buildings that lined the ocean’s edge. The walls of the warehouse were crusted with sea salt, and the whole place reeked so strongly of rotting fish and dried seaweed that Houl could barely breathe without convulsing into chokes and coughs. Even so, Blackice was unphazed by the sea-filled stench; the mysterious black device she spoke into seemed to give her immunity to the smell, despite it being closer to her ears than to her nose. There was a name for such a device – what was it? Phony Cells? Cell-phonics? Houl didn’t know. Nor did he feel the need to remember; human devices had notoriously incomprehensible names, and the box-like device was likely no different.

She’d been talking to the box for several minutes. Occasionally, in the middle of a conversation, she would suddenly say goodbye, and the machine would make a beeping sound until she pressed a series of buttons and said hello to it again. So far, she’d called it three different names – Knucklehead, Phantom, and, this last time, Dark Cloud - which was by far the most unusual name to call the device, as it didn’t look like a cloud at all, (though it was darkly colored.)

“… Of course, I assume you know where to go after that.” Blackice said, pacing beside the warehouse walls, “Though I’m afraid I won’t be able to meet you personally. I have a… pet project, of sorts.” She let out a light giggle and listened for the murmuring of the box again. “…Good. Call me when you arrive.”

A wide smirk crept along the woman’s face as she clicked the device off and hid it within the folds of her kimono. The steady thumping of her sandals against the drenched wood of the docks slinked behind Houl, growing increasingly closer until the husky at his side snapped toward the sound. Time in the humid environment of the warehouse had caused its fur to bristle, and the sudden shagginess of mane made the dog appear much more like a wolf than a simple pet.

The woman paused, perhaps wondering why he was staring so intently into the water, focused on the fish that swirled around his shadow. He’d never been able to communicate well with fish – their emotions fell on different wavelengths than his own, and it was difficult for him to produce any sort of emotion from them. A sudden bark from the wolf startled them away, leaving his shadow empty.

“You look like your enjoying yourself.” The sarcasm in the woman’s voice was evident. Growling quietly, Houl rested his head on a propped-up elbow.

“Are we going to do anything?” He hissed, scratching doodles into the wooden planks with his free hand.

“Soon, very soon. We just have to wait a few more minutes, okay?”

A low murmur escaped from Houl’s throat. A few more minutes? Honestly, the woman was testing his patience. He’d have killed her by now for wasting his time if she hadn’t been related to the Titans. The old superheroes had always frowned on his kills, calling him a beast and a monster. And yet, they had still tried to persuade him to join their team. Curious people, really… they couldn’t seem to make their mind up about anything…

A ringing rumbled through the woman’s sleeve, and at once she walked away, snatching the black box from her pockets and flipping it open. Thank goodness, she was gone. The tension in the air eased a bit, and his wolf friend sauntered back to the edge of the dock. Guess there was nothing else to do now but practice his fish-talking skills.

Grumbling, he stared back at the water, trying to bring the fish back into his shadow. For a moment, nothing moved in the water. Then… wait a minute… a fish began floating towards the dark. And another, and another after that… hey, he was getting the hang of this, wasn’t he?

But a sudden vibration through the water caused the fish to scatter again. Hissing, he kicked at his shadow, sending drops of water flying through the air. Stupid fish! They were afraid of everything! Heck, he didn’t even know why they had run away this time. The air still smelled awful, the woman still yammered away at her box, and the whole place was completely deserted.

Except…

Houl’s ears perked. Something was coming. Something big, that made a low humming sound in the water. Glancing back toward the lady, he could see her watching the edge of the water expectantly. What was she…? He followed her gaze, squinting at the horizon.

And… there! A small dot appeared on the edge of the sea, flying towards them at breathtaking speeds. It looked like… a boat? A speedy-boat, actually – the kind that humans used to get across ocean straits and ram defenseless marine animals. At the wheel stood the human variant of a brick wall – a burly man with the height of a giraffe and the vacant expression of a pigeon.

“There we go…” Blackice murmured, and then, in a much louder voice, shouted toward the boat, “Hurry it up, Knucklehead! We don’t have much more time.” The man shouted something back that was completely incomprehensible, and twisted the boat toward the docks

Blackice turned toward Houl, a smile grown on her face. “You don’t get seasick, do you?” Frowning, Houl glanced toward the boat that zigzagged across the waves.

He sure hoped he didn’t.
Other: He’s partially illiterate, and can’t write to save his life. Don’t ask him to do any paperwork.

Name and Last Name (If you have one): Martin Quincy
Hero or Villain: Neutral, though shifts between alliances frequently
Super Hero/Villain Alias: Contrary
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Description: For a super, Martin is unusually plain. Average height, average weight, and just plain average-looking, he’s not the kind of guy you could pick out in a crowd. In fact, the only thing that sets him apart from the other grunts loitering around in the city is not his appearance, but his sense of hygiene; despite the filth that the city endures, he is remarkably clean and well-shaven.

A well-kept mess of blonde hair sits on his head, occasionally falling into his blue eyes. His skin is something of a mild tan, and has stayed that way despite the lack of light inside the city. A ragged brown jacket on top of a worn grey shirt and a pair of shaggy jeans are really the only good clothing he owns, along with a pair of brown boots that are worse for wear. Being the unassuming person that he is, he keeps a chain with a model of an atom around his neck as a small form of identification. He also carries around a backpack which, while littered with holes and covered with grime, holds most of his possessions.

Personality: Martin is… well, he tends to act like… actually, does he have a real personality? He’s mulled that question in his head a few times, but has never really been able to come to a conclusion. After all, with his powers causing him to adopt a new persona depending on the people he happens to be around, does he really have a set behavior?

As it is, the personality that Martin adopts is directly linked to the people around him. Whatever people happen to be feeling, he always feels the opposite. For him, being around a bunch of angry people keeps him calm and relaxed; standing near a sad person causes him to become more cheerful; talking with a pacifist makes him want to punch something in the face. Everything is dependent on his surroundings, and because of this, his mood and personality shift with the environment. Seeing as Dark City is a slimy pit of agony and despair, Martin is generally cheerful and perhaps a bit innocent, though his attitude could change at any given time.

Background/History: Martin was born into a family that thought they were having a daughter but decided to give him the best anyway, and he couldn’t stand it. Not because he wanted to do his own thing, or because all the expectations he had to fulfill, or because of any normal reason that a little kid might dislike their family. He just physically and mentally… couldn’t stand them. They didn’t do anything wrong (was that the problem?), but it seemed that the more they tried to show that they cared, the more he could care less about them.

That was viewed as kind of a problem, so they sent him to therapy. He spent a lot of time in therapy, even as a kid. Long story short, it took quite a few failed attempts at changing his mind for the psychiatrists to realize that something was wrong with the way he reacted to things, that he seemed to do the exact opposite of what was considered the norm. Once they realized this, they tried using different tactics to fix his strange tendency of acting the opposite way. Granted, nothing they did worked, but hey, at least they tried.

He didn’t exactly do well in anything he was supposed to do well in. Not school (he always got the subjects mixed up). Not work (he tried to get a summer job but always showed up for the wrong hours.) By that point, even he realized that he always seemed to be affected by things the opposite way people expected for him to be affected. He almost died once, even, when he went to the hospital after getting a nasty virus from a bottle of hand sanitizer and no one could figure out how he was suddenly coming down with extremely rare and dangerous illnesses in a supposedly sterile hospital room.

Once he turned eighteen, he grabbed his stuff and headed for the road before his family could blink. For a while, he was a wanderer, sleeping in parks and scrounging around for free food and even begging a bit (although he could never bring himself to spend his money). Eventually, he figured out that, by going to places that people thought were “dirty” and “full of hooligans”, he could actually improve his health. Not only that, but whenever some poor sap got mugged and ran off crying their eyes out, he could practically feel his heart warming with happiness. It was a fairly easy connection for him to realize: if people were in agony, he was having the time of his life. With that in mind, his life was pretty simple: if he wanted to enjoy himself, then he needed to find the worst, most scum-filled, evil hellhole on the planet.

He showed up at the border of Dark City at the height of its terrible living conditions, asking to be let into the city so that “he could maybe take a walk around town and find a job.” Potentially, it was out of malice, (or confusion, he was never really sure), that they chucked him into the filth without a second thought. Immediately, he went off to find some work, and, after discovering a job hustling cash from a disease-ridden dump to a shady apartment where a bunch of quick-tempered gangsters were busy practicing their aim on the pedestrians that scurried by, was basically in his form of heaven. Unfortunately, the job didn’t last very long, as one of the guys shot himself (well, he shot at Martin, but somehow the bullet managed to hit him instead) and the gangsters called him some sort of freakish demon before throwing him out on the street. He tried to get a few jobs after that, but his knack at doing the opposite never seemed to help anyone, and he could never hold a position for longer than the time it took him to learn how to do it.

Nowadays, he just wanders around town, enjoying the apocalyptic scenery. Occasionally, villains hire him to send messages or take bullets or put a greedy person in front of him so that he feels generous enough to give away his stuff. He doesn’t have a super name, per say, but folks have been calling him “Contrary” due to the fact that he says things like “quite the contrary” and “on the contrary” fairly often, and also because of the weird way he tends to react to things.

Superpower(s)/Special Abilities/Etc:
+++ Characteristic Entanglement – Contrary’s powers are based on the concept of quantum entanglement, (don’t worry, it’s a lot simpler than it sounds.) For anything that happens to him, he will always react in the opposite way. Being near depressed people makes him feel happy, eating garbage is good for his health, and having acid dripped on his hands is actually good for his skin. Granted, this also means that anything that would normally be considered a good thing for someone is a bad thing for him; eating vegetables would cause him to have a lack of nutrients in his body, being around a sterile environment would make him seriously ill, and of course, being by someone who is especially happy would make him feel especially depressed.)

+++ Quantum Connection – Through the use of quantum entanglement, Contrary can cause other things to become entangled as well, in respect to his entanglement. This works in a series of opposites: for anything that happens to him, he will always react in the opposite way, and the person he has created a quantum link to will react the opposite way he reacts. In simple terms, this means that anything that is caused to him by another person will reflect onto that person. If, say, someone shot him in the shoulder while he was linked to that person, he would be perfectly fine and the person who shot him would have a bullet hole in their shoulder. In a quantum link, Contrary can also start up a telepathic conversation with whoever happens to be linked to him, (though he can only hear the thoughts that the other person wants him to hear, and they can only hear the thoughts that Contrary wants them to hear.) Quantum links can only be created if Contrary is touching something at the moment he decides to create a link, but as soon as a link is formed, it stays (no matter the distance between him and the linked person/object) until he creates a different link or breaks the current one.

+++ Dual Quantum Connection – Contrary can also make quantum links between two separate individuals that are not himself. For everything that happens to one person in the link, the opposite will happen to the other person in the link. As an example, if Contrary made a link between two random grunts, and one grunt punched the other grunt in the face, then the grunt that was punched will be perfectly fine and the grunt that did the punching will feel like they’ve been punched in the face. In a duel quantum link, the two linked people can also start up a telepathic conversation with whomever they happen to be linked with, (though they can only hear the thoughts that the other person wants them to hear.) Dual quantum links can only be created if Contrary is touching both people/objects at the moment he decides to create a link, but as soon as a link is formed, it stays (no matter the distance between the two linked people/objects) until he creates a different link or breaks the current one.

Species: Human.
Member of the Renegades: No, (though it really depends on his mood.)
List your job, designation, position, or duties in the Villain community: Mostly confined to grunt work, but he’s been used by the higher ups as something of a human shield and a semi-invincible messenger.
Roleplay Sample: From an RP called “Everlast,":

Simeon Sabbasid
Human Summoner
Outside Cradle Village

From the depths of his eternal slumber, Simeon awoke. Slowly, and with much confusion at the light, the strange blinding that caused white to encompass his being. Around him, a low warmth clung to his arms, draping across his shoulders and head – a warmth like nothing he had felt in ages. He felt his vision squint, felt it roll downward into shadow; and, seeing darkness, it gradually opened to reveal green. Color was a kaleidoscope, interchanging in frequency, and mingling whites and pinks against the palates of the landscape.

Light. That was the phrase he had used to describe it. The sensation of seeing. Gradually, the colors began to separate, and he felt himself adjusting to the blinding that rendered him incapacitated. Grasses formed. Flowers. Nature.

He could feel it now, understand it, really, the warmth on his back. Light.

He looked up at the landscape – the brown oak of tree, the ocean blue of sky. Everything he had not seen in decades, had not had the chance to remember, was now in front of him.

Light. He felt overwhelmed. The colors swirled, and at once, he felt himself falling. Instinctively, he regained balance – and realized that he was now standing in his own corpse.

The recognition was instant. He raised a hand across his face, traced the scars along his skin. Yes, this was his. This was him. Simeon. He was surprised he could remember such a name. Simeon Sabbassid. Such a familiar ring.

A pounding rang in his ears. Silent, he listened. What was that devilish tune? He placed a hand on his neck, feeling for the sound. A pulse beat in his fingertips. A heartbeat. Startled, he pulled himself away, becoming at once aware of the sound of his heart, of the sound of his own breathing.

He was alive.

His weary mind sparked at the thought. No, that wasn’t right. He couldn’t be alive. Not now. Not after so many years in his eternal ending, in his own death. He couldn’t be alive. And yet, he could feel it. The pulse. The breath. These were the signs of the living. Surely, he was alive.

“So the Hindus were not liars after all…” he murmured, hearing the words roll of his tongue. Startled, he blinked at the sound of his own voice. How many years had gone by, since he had heard his own words? How many years had gone by in his death? His head swam with questions. Perhaps, there was something that could-

“Hello er….newcomers! I’m Anorra, and it’s an honor to meet you all.”

The greetings of a young lady caused Simeon to jerk, surprised at the sudden sound. He turned, albeit sharply, toward a woman dressed in the white and equipped with a spiked metal weapon. From the corners of his eyes, he spotted other figures, and he casted a sharp glance in their direction. Warriors, mages, rogues… they were a motley of miscellaneous time periods. Were these others, then, reincarnated as he was? He shook his head, letting his mind clear. Everything was still so unclear…

Luckily, he was not the only one baffled. Another figure, one of a mage’s attire, quickly caught the girl’s attention and began to ask all sorts of questions regarding the situation.

The girl answered with a sigh. “Well, to explain everything is a lot, but I’ll try my best to give you guys the info in a way that’s easy for both of us.” And so, she began to explain. About heroes and past times, reincarnation. About the troubles of the present – monsters, riots, natural disasters. Moreover, she elaborated on her and her masters perplexment, and how he had brought back the heroes of old to be heroic once again. Through all this, Simeon listened in silence.

There was a pause. Then suddenly, as though the heroes had finally awoken, a scramble of statements and questions arose. A Roman Gladiator stepped forward, offering his sword to the cleric’s cause, while a rogue counted out his old currency in hopes that it was still viable. Simeon, however, was in no mood to exchange any courtesies with the woman. He stepped to the side, away from the group of heroes, until he could concentrate on his own thoughts.

He closed his eyes, listening to the brushing of the plainwinds. A world on the brink of destruction, in desperate need of its old heroes. Surely, this was not what he expected to wake up to – if he could say he expected to awaken at all. It was an unfortunate business – the monsters, the riots – and a few good heroes would be reasonable enough to deal with it. But why him, of all men? He was no hero. Just a soldier on the battlefield. A simple summoner. A scholar.

He felt for the satchel on his side. It was still with him, much to his relief. Slowly, he felt through the contents, fingering the binding of a book and feeling the edge of the compactable Scholar’s staff at the bottom of his bag. Except… no, that wasn’t right. He felt along the binding of the book again. One book. Just one? He could have sworn he’d had two with him on the battlefield…

Frantically, he flipped open the satchel and began rifling through the bag. Surely he hadn’t lost it on his way back to the living?! He peered in, shook its contents a bit, hoping that the shifting of the objects would magically reveal the books location. The Anyasa Isicara?! He couldn’t have lost it, it couldn’t be-

"Uh, excuse me?” The sudden question nearly caused him to leap out of his own skin. “Who are you, and who are they?"

He turned, glaring at the speaker, a man whose dressed purposed that he was a magic user. He had with him a Griffin. A summoner, then? Intriguing… he had yet to spot another summoner in the crowd of reincarnates. He softened his gaze, closing the satchel at his side, and turned toward the man with an expression of curiousness. Yes, he did look like a summoner…
