9. Worst name change: Nintendo Wii

"Nintendo Revolution" sounds cool. "Nintendo Wii" sounds dumb. That's about all there is to say.

I laughed at this because even though many people may agree, this is in no way one of the 10 worst technology decisions. People are still overly hyped about the system, regardless of the name.

I know what you mean. People like the Wii because of its unique style of controling.

Also, how can they list a name change in the 10 worst technologies?

"Revolution" sounds too cocky, as if it alone is supposed to change everything. When they changed the name to Wii, they said in a conference that they wanted to disturb the movement of the gaming industry.

Probably same with them changing "Ultra" to just Nintendo 64.

Seriously, I'm sure more people were disappointed about that than the Rev's name change. How could it not make it to the list?

Plus people have stopped *****ing about the Rev's new name. Many have grown to like it already.

Either they're talking about things related to technology, or they are so stupid that the name "Wii" would make the console terrible. The former is pretty stupid considering the title, and I don't think I need to explain why the latter is stupid.

Before Wii, it was called the Revmote. I got over Wii the weekend after it was introduced. I love the name, and find it better than Revolution.

It's not likely this would happen - but what if they called it Penis instead or called the DS Dick Sucker? Then would you play it? lol. "Yeah, I got some new games for my Dick Sucker"

But yeah, im over the name change kinda, I still wish it was called Revolution - but just about everyone I know wants one and my brother said he thought it was awesome compared to the Gamecube.
