The abilities that they SHOULD have

I was playing through the other day when it occurred to me that there really was no good reason for Grass types not to have Water Absorb. For an example of the real-life relationship between Grass and Water, and why this ability should manifest itself on Grass types like Oddish, Bellossom, and Roselia, just forget to water a pansy for three days, watch it droop, and then water it... Water Absorb in action. Makes a whole lot more sense than Chlorophyll and might well be more useful.

Magnemite with Pickup. Come on, it's a bloody magnet; of course it's going to attract things. Magneton can keep Magnet Pull since that's part of what makes it such a useful Skarmory counter, but really...

Any other examples of Pokemon that should have certain abilities?

Magnemite/Magneton with Levitate. 'Nuff said... it's not as if it'd be 00ber broken. It'll still be weak to Fighting and Fire, which are fairly common anyway.

I like your Water Absorb idea. A lot. If only Bellossom had that... :(

I also think that all pre-RSE Legendaries should have something else other than Pressure. It works in the likes of Lugia and Suicune, but why put it in every goddamned Legend? Way to go...

Rough Skin Cacnea/Cacturne. To this day it still amazes me how a pokemon can headbutt one of those and not get hurt.

PDL

disenchanted
Traunt on Slowpoke/bro/king line

yeah, they don't warrent an ability that makes them move only once every two turns... but they're just as lazy, maybe not Slowking...

The Thunderbird

Dreams come true
Flygon with Sand Stream, Moltres with Flame Body, Articuno with Clear Body, Zapdos with Static, Misdrevaus and Hypno with Shadow Tag, and Mewtwo with Levatate. Seems more likely to me.

Beldum/Metang/Metagross look like Pokemon that should have Levitate. But that would make them a bit cheap so I'm glad they don't have that ability.

Ability ideas

beldum and metang with levitate i can see cuz they're actually levitating but metagross i find has a good ability with clear body
i also think more pokemon especially fighting pokemon deserve abilities like limber and vital spirit
and maybe more than just jirachi and dunsparce with serene grace, like ninetails and dragonair or even ho-oh and giving it to ho-oh would get rid of the monotony of all the legends having the same ability

Of course it wouldn't be 00ber broken, it would lose it's main use as a Skarm counter.

I also think they had WAY to many legendarys with pressure.

Most people have mentioned these but I'll say them anyway:

Magnemite/magneton - Levitate
Magmar - Flamebody
Cacnea/cacturne - Rough skin
Geodude - Levitate (personally I would prefer this to a golem).
Dustox - Levitate

Hmm... I can't think of anymore but there probably are some.

Pokémon should have more than 1 ability. I don't think you should mix up the game with the anime, but some things are just weird.

Flygon cannot have sand stream because it has levitate. They made him dragon/ground, but they actually wanted to make him a dragon/ground/flying. A pokémon can only have 2 types, so they just allowed him to make use of the fly part by giving him levitate. Most abilities were just made up, because they had to give each pokémon one. Lapras with water absorb doesn't make sence, nor does shell armor. There is plenty of it's soft belly exposed. Pokémon like Krabby and Shelder should have shell armor, not Lapras.

Vampiric Knight

Dance with the Devil
Hmm, the way I see it, these Pokemon so far should have these abilities:

Articuno-Clear body
Zapdos-Volt absorb
Moltres-Flame body
Suicune-Natural cure
Entei-Flash fire
Raikou-Static
Snorlax-Truant
Ho-oh-Serene grace or Synchronize

That's all I got. Anyway, i think it's stupid to give all the other non-R/S legendaries pressure.

A lot of grass pokemon shouldn't have chlorophyll. Only green leaves have chlorophyll. So grass pokemon like tangela shouldn't have it.

Dragonfree

Misdreavus with Shadow Tag
No way... automatic Perish trapping is just... no way...

About Flygon having Levitate or sand stream: Shouldn't dragon types just be immune to ground types in the first place? Like flying types? And I know this doesn't go here but it's related: that Gyarados and Mantine are both flying types, which makes them immune to ground moves, and how does that work?

Atomic Boo

Oddium Wanderus ftw
Not all dragon types should be immune to ground, what about shelgon etc.

Completely agree with the grass pokemon water absorb, that ability shouldn't be only for water types. Actually i don't quite understand how water types can absorb it anyway, they're not exactly made of water (exept castform perhaps).

Volteon

Back I guess??
probably an grass/ground can have water absrb ability, one absorbs the water (ground part) and the other use it for it health (grass one)

scyter with speed boost and sneasel with vital spirit.

Iveechan

<--- CHANTASTIC
Gloom should have Stench.

Hitmonchan should have something other than Keen Eye. Keen Eye is so useless in competitive play, it's only useful against some ingame trainer's Pidgey. Hitmontop and Hitmonlee both have great, useful abilities, but Hitmonchan didn't. He should have... I don't know. I want to say Guts but Tyrogue already has that. Vital Spirit like Primeape maybe... or something that adds a 1.5 bonus to any Punch move.
