Anyway, on with Chapter Four: Upcoming Violence XD! I think it kinda stinks since I'm terrible at this title name thing XD Anyway, if you like it, I'll saty with it. If not, then I'll think of something better
Chapter Four: Upcoming Violence
It’s been a five days since Tyra and Malcin have left, Yoshi wrote in a light cerulean book.
It’s worrying me more by the minute since Kiori and Chikara won’t tell me what’s going on. I wonder why they didn’t ask Mix or me to come with them. It’s really making me wonder more and more nowadays. Maybe my cousins are right. What if they are going out? But then…why wouldn’t they tell me? We’re all so close and I don’t have a problem with them getting together. Is it possible that we’re becoming more distant because of their relationship? I really don’t get why my cousins won’t tell Mix or I about Tyra and Malcin, Yoshi continued to write.
I hope they’re okay though…I really hate it when they get so secretive.
Anyway, I wish I knew more about their current whereabouts. But then again, I wonder if I had become so distant from everyone, not just Tyra and Malcin. There’s my other friends too like Janet, Thomas, and…, Yoshi stopped in her tracks to see what word she was written. Atam…
She blinked several times to notice as she held the book, high, high into her hands.
No, I’ve got to forget about him. He’s not worth it, besides, there’s lots of guys for me to choose from. A lot of cute ones in fact. Ha ha! I do admit I’ve been acting strange as much as I hate to admit it. I wonder what’s the cause of my behavior. Hmm…I don’t always understand myself so I’ll forgive myself and get on with my own life.
Hmm…where to start? Maybe I could be a little more cooperative in my lessons more often. I could try to improve my friendships as well, that is, if I’m able to see the rest of my friends. I could use to go to sleep earlier but this feeling keeps on coming to me at night, and…it won’t stop. I simply can’t sleep well. Life’s become so complicated now, much more than long ago…oh well. Sometimes you can’t stop things and just…well, let them go as they are.
Yoshi then closed her book putting her pen beside the book. She carefully opened a brown drawer, put the book inside, and sealed it tight with her tiny golden key. The teenager then sighed as she stood from her seat and approached her white spotless window.
The view’s so beautiful from up here. It’s funny that I didn’t even notice this window before, Yoshi thought as she chuckled softly.
“Yoshi?”
“Aaahhh!” Yoshi startled as she held her arms in midair. She then tilted her body and faced the doorway. “Mix!”
“What are you doing?” the tiny bird questioned as she strolled inside the room.
“Nothing.”
“Right…” Mix stated sarcastically. “You expect me to believe that? I bet you were writing in that diary of yours again.”
“How did you know?”
“It’s all based on observations Yoshi.” Mix answered as he jumped onto Yoshi’s bed. “I tried talking to them again…”
“Did they say anything else about Tyra and Malcin?” Yoshi interrogated in concern.
“Nah, they didn’t bother answering although it has been bugging me that maybe they’re in danger.”
“What do you mean by ‘danger’?” Yoshi asked, curious to know.
“I get the feeling that they’re stuck in some huge storm somewhere.” Mix replied as he imagined a boat in a storm at sea. “If the storm was so bad, their boat could sink and they’ll die at a watery fate.”
“Don’t jinx it Mix. It’ll be your fault if they get into an accident!” Yoshi scolded.
“Nah, I was just kidding about that.” Mix stated with a wink. “I had ya there, didn’t I?”
Yoshi made a violent face.
“You-!” Yoshi shouted as she ran to Mix and held him with her hands and started to shake the helpless animal. “You stupid bird! Don’t you go making idiotic judgments like that! You hear me?!”
“Just stop shaking me, I just ate you know!” Mix cried as he closed his eyes shut.
“When did you eat?”
Mix then fluttered his eyes open and started to think. Yoshi was getting more impatient by the minute.
“Mmm…”
“Well?!”
“Come to think of it, everybody already ate.” Mix told as he put one of his wings under his chin.
“What?! You all ate without me?!” Yoshi snapped.
“We thought you wanted alone time so we ate without you!”
“So that’s how it is huh?” Yoshi scolded. “You’re all so considerate.”
“But you were writing! We didn’t want to disturb you!”
“Since when are you spying on me?!” Yoshi yelled. “Answer me!”
She is scary. It’s a good thing she can’t read minds, Mix thought to himself and huffed a sigh.
“Are you insulting me with your little thoughts?! If you have something to say, then say it for god’s sake!” Yoshi snapped.
I stand corrected now...
“It’s nothing really!” Mix lied as he sweatdropped.
“Oh really? A little bird just told me to not say nothing for a response because there is something on your mind!” Yoshi shouted as she knocked Mix’s head. “Hello, is your brain in there?! Man, your brain is small.”
“At least I don’t have a big brain with pointless information in it!” Mix remarked.” I have a much more useful one!”
“That’s so cute Mix! You can come back to me when your brain grows a little more which will take another five hundred years!”
“You won’t even be here in five hundred years!”
“Will you two just stop it?”
Yoshi and Mix looked to their left, spotting Kiori with a bored look on her face.
“Don’t you both ever learn?”
“Yoshi, you’re such a babbling baby, always whining all the time!” Chikara remarked.
“I agree.” Mix added.
“I wasn’t asking for your opinion Chikara so leave!” Yoshi snapped.
“Maybe we should give you lessons on anger management?” Chikara joked.
“That’s not funny!” Yoshi complained.
“All right, that’s enough for today. I didn’t see you for lunch today. Were you sleeping?” Kiori questioned.
“I wasn’t sleeping! A certain someone didn’t invite me over..” Yoshi stated as she glared at Mix.
“There’s some leftovers in the kitchen Yoshi, so eat up.” Kiori reminded as she left the room but stopped at the doorway. “By the way, Tyra and Malcin are fine so don’t worry about them. I’m sure they’ll be back by today.”
“Where did they go?” Yoshi questioned as her oldest cousin left. “Hey, I’m talking to you!”
Chikara smirked. “Oh well, Kiori must have not heard you!”
A door slammed shut leaving Chikara and Mix stupefied.
“I guess Yoshi didn’t hear you either…” Mix told.
“Oh well! There’s always next time!” Chikara spoke as she shrugged.
~*~*~*~
“Are you sure they’re alright? They’re not in some kind of storm, are they?” Yoshi questioned.
“Whatever gave you that idea? They‘re fine.” Kiori reminded with a smile.
Yoshi’s eyes narrowed. “Right…I‘ll be in my room, okay?”
“You’re always locking yourself up. You know that’s not good for you.”
Yoshi shrugged then left her older cousin. The teenager headed up the long and wide stairs. Her light green dress struggled to reach to the next step since Yoshi often stepped on her dress with her white shoes.
After a few minutes, Yoshi was lying down on her bed, staring at her ceiling. She then sighed as she turned her body to her left and looked at the window. She got up and walked to her window. Yoshi spotted a few birds flying past her window, soaring to the sun.
They’re so lucky, being able to go anywhere where their hearts desire, Yoshi thought to herself.
The door opened wide as Yoshi’s head turned a little.
“Huh?”
“Yoshi, come quick!” Mix cried as he flew to her face, shocking her a bit.
“What is it?”
“Come downstairs quick!”
“For what?”
“It’s a surprise!”
“Is this one of Chikara’s practical jokes again?” Yoshi questioned as her eyes narrowed, glaring at Mix.
“It is not!” Mix complained.
“It better not be or else I’ll thrash you all!” Yoshi warned.
“Okay, calm down!” Mix shouted as he quickly flew out of Yoshi’s room in a flash.
“Mix, wait!” Yoshi spoke as she struggled to run out of her room.
She looked left to right and saw no sign of Mix. Yoshi wondered where her friend went. She shrugged and headed towards the stairs but kept on stepping on her light sea green dress.
“Ugh, I can’t stand wearing dresses!” Yoshi complained to herself.
She reached the stairs and walked down, carefully holding her dress. After a few minutes, she was over at the Hallway of Paintings. Yoshi conscientious glanced at the Paintings with great detail as she walked with awe. The teenager then heard small mumbles coming from a direction. Her ears perked a bit as she stood quietly to listen to the sound. The curious teenager moved to where the vibration came from as she moved closer.
It’s coming from the Main Room, Yoshi told herself in her thoughts.
She then moved to the doorway of the Main Room seeing two familiar faces. One was a teenager a little bit older than Yoshi. She had dark brown hair with her hazel eyes. She wore her light blue dress and had a calm smile. The other was a teenage boy around the girl’s age as he had his blond hair and his light blue eyes. He had a yellow jacket on along with his blue pants. Yoshi smiled with joy.
“Tyra, Malcin! You’re both okay!” Yoshi cried as she ran up to her friends and hugged them. “I thought you both were in danger!”
“And I thought you both went on a honeymoon…” Mix stated as he snickered.
Tyra and Malcin blushed furiously. Yoshi, Mix, Kiori, and Chikara all snickered. Malcin’s eyes narrowed as he went and grabbed Mix. Mix sweatdropped.
“Say that again and I’ll cook ya for dinner!” Malcin threatened.
“Urk! Okay, got it.”
“Where were you both anyway?” Yoshi questioned.
“Well, we decided to get you a present.” Malcin replied. “It was all Tyra’s idea.”
Tyra blushed a bit. “But you helped me out!”
“What kind of present?” Yoshi wondered.
“Hi Yoshi!” a friendly voice greeted.
Yoshi looked back to the doorway. There stood a teenage girl with light brown hair with a pink clip on her right side of her hair and her light emerald eyes. She wore a light brown jacket with a green shirt decorated with a pink heart in the middle. Her light blue shirt matched her well along with her white shoes.
Another person stood next to her too who looked like the girl’s age. He had dark brown hair with dark leafy eyes who wore his green shirt with white buttons and his dark blue denim jeans.
Yoshi then brightened as she made a huge grin.
“Janet! Thomas!” Yoshi cried with happiness. “It’s been so long!”
“It’s been too long my friend so we’re off to see the world!” Janet squealed. She then turned over to Mix and grinned. “And how have you been Mix-Chan? Let me give you a hug!”
“Huh?!” Mix questioned as Janet carried the small yellow bird and hugged him tight. Mix struggled to be free from Janet’s clutches.
“You’ve become even more cuter than the last time I saw you! I could hug you forever!”
“Stop hugging me! Let go!” Mix cried.
“But that’s nothing compared to my big hug!” Janet cooed.
“B-b-big hug?” Mix stuttered, afraid to know to what kind hug was that.
“Yup! Big hug!” Janet exclaimed as she hugged Mix even more tighter than before.
“Yikes! Let go!” Mix complained.
Janet giggled as everybody sweatdropped.
“So, how have you and Janet been?” Yoshi asked.
“We’ve been going well. We discovered many new places to see!” Thomas replied with gladden.
“Really? That sounds great!” Yoshi answered.
“Hey, don’t forget about me!” a voice complained.
“Huh?” Yoshi asked with confusion as she faced the doorway.
A teenage boy stood there with an angry face. He had black hair with his light coconut eyes. He wore a red jacket with a dark green shirt inside along with his dark cerulean jeans. He also had his green sneakers. He then stared at Yoshi with astonishment.
“Yoshi…?”
“Atam…?”
Yoshi and Prince Atam’s eyes were filled with surprise. The others stared at each other then at the two. There was a great silence that filled the room. Yoshi’s mouth moved a bit.
“What are you doing here?!” Yoshi snapped.
“Huh? What are you talking about?” Prince Atam questioned. “I came here with the others to see you!”
“How dare you…how dare you come show your face around here?!” Yoshi yelled as she stomped closer to him.
“What do you mean?!” Prince Atam cried.
Yoshi stepped closer to his face. He sweatdropped a little. Yoshi raised her hand and slapped him on his cheek hard.
“What was that for?!”
“For not being a good friend, that’s what!” Yoshi screamed. “Now get out.”
“Wha…?!” the prince asked with confusion. “You can’t kick me out!”
“Oh yeah? Watch me!” Yoshi snapped as she grabbed him and stomped out of the Main Room.
“Looks like they’re getting along well,” Chikara observed.
“Their reunions always end up like this.” Malcin told.
“Hey, what are you doing?! Put me down!” Prince Atam complained.
Yoshi ignored him and threw him out of the palace with great power. The guards all sweatdropped.
“Good riddance.”
“Ow…” the prince told himself as dizzy swirls replaced his eyes. He then got up with anger. “What’s with that violent tomboy?”
He then walked towards the Mushai Palace gate where the guards stood.
“Could you guys let me back in?” he asked.
“Uh…after the way she threw you out, I think that means she doesn’t want you here.” the guard replied.
“Ugh, come on! Please let me back in! I’ve got to know what’s with her? She’s my friend and I don’t want to lose her.” Prince Atam pleaded.
“All right, let the boy in.” another guard requested.
“He made his point.”
“Good luck,” the guard told him as they opened the gate for Prince Atam to pass.
“Gee, thanks a lot! I owe you!” the prince stated as he ran for the castle.
“Yoshi, where’s Atam?” Tyra questioned with concern.
“I took care of him,” Yoshi stated as she continued walking.
The door slammed open, revealing Prince Atam. Everyone was astonished.
“Yoshi, what’s wrong with you? Why did you throw me out?” Prince Atam interrogated.
“You again? Didn’t I just throw you out?!” Yoshi snapped.
“Aha, you used violent force!” Mix stated to himself.
“Yoshi! Don’t tell me that you threw out this handsome young man!” Kiori complimented.
“I agree. He’s cute.” Chikara added.
“Urk!”
Prince Atam blushed at the sight of the two young women. “Gee, thanks! You’re both really pretty too!”
Yoshi’s eyes narrowed. “Can we get back to topic?! I’d like to talk to you alone.”
“Sure, Yoshi.”
Prince Atam followed Yoshi into another room and closed the door.
“What are you still doing here after I kicked you out?!”
“Look, I don’t know what just happened before but I’d like to know what’s on your mind.”
“Shut up, I don’t want to hear your stupid excuses!”
“Will you let me talk?!” Prince Atam snapped.
“Fine, go ahead.”
“Did I do something wrong again? If I did then tell me!”
“Okay then, I’ll tell you what you did wrong!” Yoshi started as she crossed her arms against her chest. “I wrote you letters ever since the day we were apart! I sent you one every month! I always looked to see if I got your mail but nothing! Not even a visit from you over the last three years!”
“You didn’t visit me either…” Prince Atam muttered.
“That‘s not the point!” Yoshi snapped. “You really don’t care about me, Malcin, Tyra or Mix anymore! You promised to keep in contact. Thomas and Janet visited every now and then. It seemed to me that you…forgotten about me.”
“Yoshi, I didn’t forget about you or the others! I even wrote letters to you!”
“Oh really?! Well then, why aren’t they here?!”
“I don’t know! You sent letters to me too right? Something must have happened to all of our letters!”
“Liar! You didn’t write to me!”
“I did too!”
“Did not!”
“Did too!”
“Did not!”
“Listen, I’m sorry that my letters or your letters didn’t get to each other! I always thought about you! I missed you so much that I was so excited to see you again!” Prince Atam admitted. “But then, you kicked me out. I guess you don’t want to see me anymore and I’m fine with that. So, I’ll just leave!”
Prince Atam started to walk towards the door but Yoshi blocked.
“What are you doing?” he asked.
“I don’t…I don’t want you to leave.” Yoshi spoke softly as she looked down. “I want us to still be friends. So, will you stay?”
Prince Atam smiled and hugged her. Yoshi blushed red as she felt him close to her again.
“I never was going to leave anyway. I just said that to convince you.” he joked.
SLAM!
“Stupid!” Yoshi snapped as she slammed the door.
“Ouchies.”
~*~*~*~
“Things worked out?” Malcin asked.
Yoshi nodded.
“Did you guys hug or kiss or make out?” Janet teased.
“No!”
“I didn’t know that he was your boyfriend!” Chikara annoyed.
“Shut up.” Yoshi uttered.
“So why did you all come here anyway?” Mix questioned.
“Now that you mention it, Tyra and Malcin asked us for permission and we accepted.” Kiori told.
“Accepted what?” Yoshi interrogated.
“To let you leave, duh!” Chikara blurted.
“What?!” Yoshi said with amazement. “You can’t let me just leave!”
‘Of course you can since you have our permission.” Kiori stated.
“But what about the kingdom?”
‘Don’t worry about it! We decided to have a replacement while you’re away.” Chikara told.
“Who?”
“Tyra.”
“Huh…?!”
“I decided to stay here.” Tyra said.
“I don’t get it…” Mix expressed.
“Don’t worry about me!” Tyra whispered to Yoshi. “I have Kiori and Chikara under control!”
“But don’t you want to come?”
“That’s okay. You really are in need of a break so you have fun for me!”
“But then how will we ever keep in touch?” Yoshi asked sadly.
“With this!” Janet cried as she held a mini communicator. “This is one of our latest technologies that Thomas and I received while we were in Bushu. It helps a bunch when Thomas and I get lost.”
“Is that your only one?” Prince Atam asked.
“Of course not! We have another one with us so feel free to take it!” Janet winked.
“Are you sure about this Tyra?” Yoshi questioned.
“Don’t worry, she’ll be with me!” Malcin announced. “If Tyra stays, then I will too!”
“I get it, you like her!” Chikara teased.
“That’s so sweet!” Janet squealed.
“I should have seen that coming…” Mix remarked.
“Quiet you!”
“Don’t worry, we’ll all be fine!” Tyra reminded.
“Well, okay. It’s your choice.” Yoshi stated, a bit unsure of herself.
“Thanks Yoshi. I knew you’d understand.” Tyra said as she hugged her friend.
“I should be thanking you and Malcin instead! You guys are real pals! I owe you.”
“I thought you all wanted to leave so leave!” Chikara cried.
“Alright already!” Yoshi complained. “But, I can’t go like this!”
“What’s the matter Yoshi? You look really cute in a dress!” Prince Atam complimented.
“Yeah, you look really cyute in that dress!” Chikara added sarcastically.
“Cut it out!”
The others chuckled.
“I’ll go get dressed then.” Yoshi called as she left.
~*~*~*~
“It takes Yoshi forever to find something to wear!” Kiori stated.
“If a fire ever occurred, she would be the last one to stay in there!” Chikara scoffed.
“I heard that!” Yoshi called.
Everyone looked up to see Yoshi dressed much differently than before. She was wearing a sleeveless light blue shirt along with her white belt. She also had on her blue shorts along with her red sneakers.
“Let’s get going then.”
“You look great Yoshi!” Janet complimented.
“Thanks Janet!”
~*~*~*~
“Are you sure you’ll be okay?” Yoshi questioned one last time.
“Sure, Yoshi. We have the communicators to keep in touch.” Tyra reminded.
“Take care, all of you.” Yoshi told.
“We’ll be much better off without you!” Chikara bothered.
Yoshi rolled her eyes.
“I’m sure we’ll see you all soon!” Tyra stated with glee.
“Have fun!”
“Just like you want to have fun with Tyra.” Prince Atam remarked.
“You’ve been hanging around with your brothers too much, you perv.” Malcin said as he knocked Atam on the head.
Tyra laughed nervously.
“Goodbye!”
“Bye bye!” Janet called.
“See ya!”
“Good luck Tyra!” Yoshi shouted.
“You too Yoshi!” Tyra replied.
“She’ll need it.” Chikara muttered.
Kiori nodded. “That’s so much like you.”
“Eh?”
“You need to grow up too.”
“I’ll make dinner!” Malcin shouted.
“Yay! Real food at last!”
I hope they’re going to be alright without me. It seems a bit strange that Tyra would want to take my place for a while. She’s such a good person. Thank you Tyra! You too Malcin! Oh! I can’t forget Kiori and Chikara too or else I’d never be out here!
Anyway, traveling around again should be fun. I really can’t wait to see what new places that Janet and Thomas have discovered! And it’s fun to have Atam around again. I’ll pick up some more arguments late with him! Ha ha! Until another day, see ya!
“There, that should do.” Yoshi said to herself as she closed her book and got up from her place.
~~~
Okay, finally cleared that up. ^^ The part when Yoshi basically read Mix's mind was pretty priceless to me XD I hoped all of you enjoyed all of the quarrels because I enjoyed writing them. ^^ Anyway, give me your opinion about this chapter!
