The Assassination (We start)

Lemurian

Lady Myuu's Opposite
(puts in the plot for those who have forgotten)

The Indigo League-flag waved at the stadium at the Indigo Plateu. The peaceful village around it bustled with the normal pre-League preparations. People set up shops, brought in wares and arranged for the village to be ready for the guest from around Kanto. But the busiest job was placed on the Police.

Four years ago, Team Rocket had been driven from Kanto and Johto mainly because of the great help from Ash Ketchum, the local Kanto-champion. TR had been almost destroyed and were being hunted everywhere. But still, the main leaders were never found. Those persons started to rebuild TR in the shadow, but they understood that they could never manage that unless their main enemies were cleared out of the way. So, they started training up a squad of assassins to get rid of them.

A month before, the main Police Chief of Johto was shot in his home. The next target was the Police Chief of Kanto, but the assassination was stopped thanks to the Police of Kanto. Now, the next target was supposed to be Ash. And they knew exactly where it was going to happen.

The Champion of Kanto was planned to visit the Indigo League a week before the tournament itself and stay through the whole arrangement. He would stay at the luxurious hotel Rainbow Hotel, in the middle of the city. Of course, great police security was put in motion, but the assassins would be smart. They would probably disguise themselves as trainers arriving early and kill Ash in an unprotected moment.

A week went. The Police was beginning to wonder if this was a waste of time. No assassins had been spotted and the night of Opening Ceremony was coming, probably the busiest day of the whole tournament. This was probably when they would strike...

19:25

Alexander Greyslash stood before the new reinforcements of Policemen. They were a good bunch, with already clear orders. "Okay, you know why you are here." Alexander said. "Your mission is to protect Ash Ketchum-sama by all means. Carlton, James; you are to be placed here, right before the door to the room." The two nodded. "Johnson, Snap; you shall guard inside Ash-sama's room. Be very careful." And it kept on. Two guards in each hall, two in his room and three outside. And one on the roof. "Now then, there are some disguised Policemen around here. They will look like trainers to you, but they will know this password." Greyslash placed a note in each Policeman's hand. The constables looked at it a moment and then ripped it to pieces and placed them in their pockets. "Okay." Greyslash continued. "Contact the others on PCom if there's anything unusual. I will stand here in front of the door, but I'll patrol around. Now, move out!"

~~

"Raven" stood far from the hotel, talking with the other Assassins over the RocketCom. "You know the tactic and the target. All disguised assassins will carry the special emblem. All, go!" Then, he switched over to individual. "Strifer, you will take the one on the roof and then infiltrate through the halls." He switched to the next. "Rave, take with you Kairoy and take the west part of the floor." And so on. They would attack from all sides. There was no chance of failure. "Move out."

OOC: The password and the emblem that the disguised Rockets will carry will be PMed.

Time is now: 19.27.

I slowly climbed on the roof with my cape wrapped around me. I quietly ran into the center of the roof, expecting no guards to arrive. What pitiful defenes has our target hired? I slowly pulled out a screwdriver and unscrewed the screws on the ventelation system. If I was correct, this duct will lead me safely into the halls. I slowly climbed down into the duct trying to withstand the pressure. It wasn't as easy as it seems, my weight would probably exceed the weight limit.

"Have to time this right," I whispered as I slowly let go of the sides.

I began to plummit, but I instantly grabbed on back to the sides, stopping myself from hiting the floor. I slowly walked out into the bathroom near the hall. I got out and switched to my civillian uniform. I was about to walk out but then I heard some guards talking to a trainer.

"Okay you're clean," the guard said," So just tell us that if you see anything wierd about any trainer just come to your local police."

The trainer walked away a bit freaked by thier continous inspection. I needed a way to get through without them knowing about my symbol. Too bad this wasn't a girl's lavatory, I would be able to get makeup. I had to try and do this properly. It would take a focus and steady mind. I walked out of the bathroom like a normal trainer.

"Halt we need to ask something," the officer said.

"Of course officer," I said," But why didn't you ask that person anything?"

"What person?" the officer asked as he tunred around.

Suddenly a smoke bomb puffed out from the corners. This alerted the officers to ignore me and go after whatever was there. I grinned as they left, out of the bathroom was my Metagross that used its psychic attack to place one of my smokescreens there. Too easy. I recalled Metagross and called up Raven.

"Raven infiltrated halls now what?" I asked...

OCC: Hope it's okay. Okay edited...

I crept along, keeping sight on Rave. I was ready to kill. "Espeon, go." I whispered. "Tell me if anyone's coming."

Espeon nodded, and walked along. I smirked. Ash Ketchum would soon be dead.

"What do you think will happen?" I mermured to my partner, Rave.

Not waiting for an answer, I darted to a closet, and pulled Rave in. Espeon had given a sign of distress. I might be wrong, but I heard faint footsteps...

Dave walked around the hotel in and out of his room along side his umbreon. "Finally, dam we had a good meal, I was starvin" His umbreon just nodded. "I need that once more again or i'm going to starve.

Dave continued up to Ashes room, where Alexander may be, but was only stopped short by a tall policeman asking for the password. "Hey, you're not suppose to be here, only officals can be here, unless you know the password"

"Um, the password" Oh you're really in for it, Dave. Then inspiration hit when he remembered. "Oh, ya, um..My name is dave, i'm from Johto, and would like to visit the person there and to see my fellow officer. If you may people." Dave said with a stred of relief. "You may move on sir" the officer spoke. "Common Umbreon, we made it through, I guess I must have said something right." need to keep what ever I said a secret and hope that no one notices me.

Dave just remains to walk along the hall, to see the officer.

"Raven" whispered a quick command. "Move quietly towards the room, but be alert. The Police are moving around up there."

Which was true. Alexander had got the report from that the remains from a smokescreen had been found. A disguised Policeman appeared and whispered the password. Alexander nodded. "Good timing. Go to the hall near the toilets. Something is happening there." The trainer saluted and walked off in the right direction.

The crystal clear glass doors of the luxurious Rainbow Hotel swung open, and one of two red and black sneakers stepped onto the crimson carpet which was laid out on the floor of the lobby. Casually, Evan Maverick entered the hotel with his hands in the pockets of his crimson jacket. Smirking in a confident yet calm manor, he strolled through the main hotel lobby as if he hadn't a care in the world, even though this clearly wasn't the case. However calm his dark brown eyes appeared, he was constantly on the alert for anything which may be considered suspicious. Three Pokeballs lay motionless on his brown belt for quick access, though he didn't intend to use them as of yet. Without saying a word prior to his motion, the teenaged Pokemon Trainer, or so his attire would suggest, continued through the hotel.

Nobody objections were made to Evan's wandering the hallways of the Rainbow Hotel. Not for the first couple of minutes, that is. However, upon stepping into a hallway on one hotel's upper tiers, the boy's eyes fell upon a police officer already occupying it. Making no efforts to avoid the officer, Evan kept a slow pace down the red hallway. The officer soon became aware of his existence, and approached the boy immediatly after acknowledging him.

"Excuse me, sir. Nobody is supposed to be in these hallways except for those us officials. I'm going to have to ask that you either return to your room or leave the hotel." The officer said in a dignified tone.

"Chill, officer." Evan said just one second after the police officer had finished speaking. "I'm just visiting from Johto."

Silence fell for but a few very brief moments. The police officer was taking into consideration what the boy had just said, as well as the expression occupying his face. Giving him one last inspecting stare, the officer appeared to have let his guard down just a tiny bit before letting out a sigh.

"Very well. Carry on." He said before allowing Evan passage.

However, Evan didn't have any time to continue his little investigation of the Rainbow Hotel's hallways. For just as the officer had granted him the right to further examine the hall, an explosion could be heard. The police officer next to Evan jumped, while the boy himself kept an aura calmness. Nevertheless, he grasped one of the red and white Pokeballs off of his belt and casually dropped it to the ground. Just as he did so, gray smoke began filling the hallways.

"Alakazam, you're up." He said in a strong tone.

The Pokeball burst open just in front of the boy, and out came a burst-stream of white energy. Not even one foot in front of Evan, the explosion of shapeless light took shape, becoming his trusty Alakazam. The psychic Pokemon grasped his silver spoons tightly in each of his hands, and his eyes began to glow a pale blue.

"Alakazam, you know what to do." Evan instructed.

Alakazam's two silver spoons began to glow the same color as his eyes. The Pokemon looked to be focusing his psychic energy on one thing in particular, though what it was couldn't be told by just looking. Soon, however, it all became clear. Evan's brown eyes started glowing a darker shade of blue, as if he were possessed by Alakazam. But this obviously wasn't the case, as he still moved with the surefootedness of a man with free will.

"Great. I can see perfectly. Thanks, Alakazam." Evan gave a quick thumbs-up to his loyal psychic companion, whom returned his gesture of confidence with one of his own; a swift nod.

With that, Evan began running down the hallway with Alakazam hot on his trail. The duo rounded a corner with great speed, not intending to waste a second. Upon arriving in yet another hallway filled with dark gray- almost pitch black- smoke, Evan and Alakazam witnessed yet another Pokemon Trainer occupying the hallways amongst two perplexed guards. He was returning his Metagross to his own Pokeball.

"Freeze!" Evan shouted. "You're under arrest, Rocket! Are ya gonna come quietly or do we have to do this the hard way?! But I'm warning you...I do enjoy doing things the hard way, so think before you make your decision." He continued, his shouts accompanied by a low whirring sound from Alakazam.

"How do you know it was me who set off this smoke bomb?" The trainer at the opposite end of the hallway yelled back.

"First of all, you knew it was a smoke bomb without any prior evidence. Second, only authorized personel and Police Officers are allowed in these hallways. Third, that Metagross you own is a Psychic Type, meaning you'd be able to use it to place that smoke bomb where you needed it." Evan countered.

"So? You knew it was a smoke bomb as well. And I don't see a police uniform on you. Plus, that Alakazam you're using to see through the smoke is a psychic type as well. I could just as easily accuse you of doing all of this." The mysterious trainer called back.

"Go ahead and try it. Every high-ranking officer on the force knows who I am. You'll make about an inch of head-way before you're in the slammer." Evan yelled, perfectly concealing his surprise as to the fact that whoever this was knew what he was using Alakazam for.

Ooc: Yeah...I know I revealed which side my character was on in my first post. But keep in mind, nobody actually saw that except for Strifer, at least at this point in the RPG. So only The Burnt Shadow's character should actually know my character's an officer.

Speaking of Strifer, The Burnt Shadow, if you want to do anything significant at this point (such as engage my character in a Pokemon Battle), please PM me first.

Dave does what is ordered and ends up near a little fight. So these people are haveing a little feud eh?

Dave opens one of his pockets near the bottom left leg to reveal a pokeball. He throws it and a blue pokemon appears before him. "brick break, blastoise"
the blastoise jumps into the fight and knocks the metagross back.

Walking casualy, Dave and umbreon appear behind the corner infront of the two people. "So, what is going on here?" The blastoise returns next to its trainer getting into battle position.

Carlton stood outside the room. The whole hotel was heavily guarded - an attack would be madness. But, he knew that Team Rocket were not to be underestimated. God knows what sort of twisted plans they had assembled.

He opened the black leather bag that hung from his shoulder and rumaged through it. He thought to himself. 'Notepad? Check. Handcuffs? Yep, they're here. PCom? Here as well. Cigarettes? In there. Pistol and ammuntiton? Yes, and the safety catch is on. Hopefully I won't have to use it....' And he didn't want to. He knew there would be a Rocket presence, but the use of firearms wasn't generally required. Of course, if a suspect was threatening an officers (or anyone elses for that matter) life, that was a different story. He turned to James.

"I have everything" he said. "Hope you do too. You know what these damned rockets are capable of."

Pheonix grabbed the drink and opened it. Scythe was alongside him watching for anything. A nearby policeman was walking and halted Pheonix. "What are you doing here?" he asked. "Oh I was just coming back from Johto and decided to check in to this hotel" Pheonix said. The policeman nodded and let Pheonix continue. "Hey Scythe you sense anything yet?" he said. Scythe shook his head.

Pheonix started hearing light footsteps. He grabbed Shadow's pokeball while Scythe got himself ready. The footsteps got closer but when Pheonix checked to see it was only another trainer. Pheonix noticed an air vent above him and was trying to see how big it was. "That's big enough for Shadow..." he muttered. He let Shadow out and instructed him to enter the air vent.

I chuckled as I took out my mask and placed it on my face. I then took out my cape and switched into my rocket attire, a sleevless red shirt and black pants. How annoying that I specialized in infiltration, yet I was the first one caught. But no matter, Rave and Kairou should have the job finished soon. I was one rocket who was exposed now as a rocket, but I was going to be exposed sooner or later, Koga and his ninjas would probably have ratted me out to the entire region.

"You trainers are quite bold," I said," But sadly I must make my leave now."

I walked away with a gas bomb in my pocket. I had to do this quickly, Alakazam and Blastoise would probably be able to take me. I turned my head back then instantly made a run for it. The two trainers were coming after me. But all of a sudden the two officers I avoided earlier came in front of me. I was surrounded from in front and behind. I took out a pokeball and smikred.

"Go get us out of here!" I ordered as I threw out a pokeball.

The officers dodged and the pokeball was sent out of the window. The officers then grabbed me and pushed me against the wall. "You're under arrest," the officer said.

"Not likely," I replied.

"What're you talking about?" the officer asked.

"Look behind you," I answered.

The officer turned around and to his suprise a giant dinosaur stared at him eye to eye. Aerodactly blew the officers away, while I made an escape on Aerodactyl. The two trainers were about to get me, but Aerodactyl let go and flew away into the forest. I picked up my communicator to call Rave and Kairou.

"Rave, Kairou be careful," I said," It seems that we have more than officers trying to take us down...

I pushed on the door, expectin it to open. It didn't budge. I was locked in.

Wincing, I spoke quietly to Rave. "Don't move."

In a split second, I pushed against the door, as hard as I could. It cracked, and gave way. I fell through the door, and flinched at the loud noise. I hoped nobody had heard me.

Suddenly, my communicator vibrated. I pushed a button and a voice spoke. It was Striker. "Rave, Kairou be careful," his voice said," It seems that we have more than officers trying to take us down..."

I frowned. "Okay. Black Espeon here. We will."

I walked a distance, and spoke into my communicator. "Black Espeon again. West Part of the floor taken."

Dave and Umbreon just walked away from all the battle. "Don't worry, we'll get him next time, By the way my name is dave, I expect your part of the police people, am I right?" Dave says with a smile and his umbreon just turning to look at the person rather than outside.

"Huh? Yeah, I'm on the force. The name's Evan Maverick." Evan answered, peering out the now-open window of the hotel, broken shards of glass now crunching beneath his sneakers.

He turned his head to look outside at the pitch-black sky outside. Not even the stars were out on that night, though the neon lights of the town below were more than enough to keep the Indigue League's surrounding city lit brightly. Squinting against the cool breeze now coming in through the open window, Evan could make out the faint silhouette of that mysterious Rocket's Aerodactyl...the one which he'd used to get away. The cold wind entering the hotel ruffled his sleeveless black shirt, sending a chill through the building's atmosphere which didn't seem to effect the ever-focused teenager in the slightest.

"Damnit...he's out of range of Alakazam's Psychic Powers now...If I only had a Flying Pokemon I'd be able to catch up with him..." Evan growled, clenching his strong fist tightly as his deep brown eyes followed the movement of the Aerodactyl.

Turning towards the inside of the hotel once more, Evan quickly scanned his surroundings. His eyes followed what had been the mysterious trainer's path, recalling every move he'd made. Hastily putting the clues together in his cunning mind, Evan closed his eyes in deep thought for a brief moment. The smoke bomb...the gas bomb...the way he handled his Pokemon. It all added up so easily to Evan that it seemed to him that a mere child could figure it out.

"He specializes in infiltration." Evan announced at last to no one person in particular.

"What? How do ya figure?" The other officer- Dave- asked.

"He used a smoke bomb and a special type of gas bomb; two tools commonly used not only by high ranking ninjas of Koga's following, but by spies. More specifically, those who do not wish to be seen by human eyes. All Rockets are required to own some sort of device to cloak their physical being, but these two bombs are obviously strengthened to better hide whoever this person was. Add to that the fact that his Metagross's psychic abilities are so acute that he can use it to place the smoke bomb where it needs to be, and it all becomes very obvious; he's a spy, and a very skilled one, at that." Evan said, sighing once he'd finished making his observation. "Now, if you'll excuse me, Dave, I've gotta go; there're probably at least a half dozen more Rockets in these halls waiting for me to thrash them."

Once more Evan grasped Alakazam's red and white Pokeball in his left hand, pulling it off his belt with great ease and slowly lifting it into the air. This time, however, he didn't throw it, merely raising it so that it was about level with his chest. Placing his thumb on the white button separating the bottom half of the Pokeball from the upper-most half, he pressed down on the button, applying just enough pressure to activate the Pokeball's Instant Return Feature. Quickly taking his thumb off of the button, a semi-transparent stream of crimson energy shot out of the Pokeball in Alakazam's direction. The intangible entity made contact with Alakazam's upper torso, and the Pokemon itself was also engulfed in the energy. It flashed red for but a moment before getting sucked once more into the Pokeball.

"Luckily, Rikou has also had some special training. I've expanded the capabilities of his Psychic Powers so that he can give the both of us the ability to see through the gas produced by such devices." Evan explained, tilting his head downward ever-so-slightly to look at Alakazam's Pokeball before placing it once more on his belt.

"Hmm...impressive." Dave said simply, nodding once in acknowledgement.

"Sorry I can't stay and chat, Dave, but there's probably about a half dozen other Rockets in these halls just waiting for me to thrash them." Evan said. "Plus, I've got an escapee to catch."

Taking one last look out the window, Evan saw that the Aerodactyl was now completely out of his range of sight. The last hint of gas from the gas bomb had drifted out the smashed window by this point, and was replaced by the fresh air of night. Turning around to look down the hallway, Evan stuck his hands in his jacket's pocket and started down the hall, looking for any other assassins...

Dave said tired along with his umbreon. "If you want to fly, I can help, I have a pokemon that can do that can aid us in it. Otherwise, I'll just stay here and look as well." We landed in a safe and calm forest next to the Indigo League tournament. I let all my pokemon out to take a bit of rest. They each had a collar on them to show that they were owned. They all had it on their leg, I knew it would irritate them if it was around their necks. Aerodactyl and Metagross were asleep under a tree, while I was above them with my Houndoom. It was getting a bit late, but I kind of liked the cozy night sky. I took off my cape and my mask for a while and took out one of my most prized possessions.

Houndoom lay its head peacefully as it waited for me to play my flute. I closed my eyes as I made soft and soothing music around the forest. Nobody could possibly find me here. Especially when there are trainers in the Indigo Plateau. The officers might come, but they'll have a few more things to worry about since I attacked. As I continued to play my flute, I managed to remember the two trainers who stopped me. Who did they think they are, intruding on rocket affairs.

Suddenly my soothing music started to sound different, Houndoom raised its head with suprise, while Aerodactyl and Metagross woke up with a startle. My music began to sound like there was kind of dark ressurection. My music would often express my emotions. My pokemon understood that I was a bit upset. But as I continued top play, I stopped and took a small breath. I then noticed that my pokemon were glaring at me with suprise. I then went back to playing my normal and soothing music. Aerodactyl and Metagross went back to sleep, while Houndoom lowered its head and listened to my music.

"I'll get those trainers someday," I thought," Maybe not today, amybe not tommorow. But one day, I'll have them in my painful grasp."

I continued to play my music and soon my senses became fresh and my mind rejuvinated...

It was beginning to get chilly in the hotel. It seemed to Carlton that a huge draft was sweeping through the corridors of the luxurious hotel.

He turned to James. "Is it just me, or is it chilly?" he enquired.

"Yes" He replied. His voice was quite deep. "I was thinking the same thing."

"You can keep watch by yourself for a sec, right? Because I'd like to go and have a cigarette outside."

"Sure, go ahead."

"Thanks."

Carlton walked down the red-carpeted hallway, where at the end, there was a lift. He hopped into it, and pressed a button with a 'G' on it. After a short trip, the officer was in the lobby of the hotel. It was a lot more active down here. People walked in and out of the large double-doors and checked in while a few officers kept watch. He walked outside into the bustling town. The sky was pitch black, but the lights illuminated the city.

After rummaging through the black bag, Carlton pulled out a cigarette and lit it. He inhaled the white smoke and it circulated his lungs. Then he blew it out. 'Damn. This whole situation is so delicate. Even me being out here isn't a good thing' he thought to himself.

After getting the message, I got my cape and mask back on and recalled everybody except for Metagross. I ordered it to teleport me near the hotel once more. As soon as I had reached the hotel, I looked around wondering if there were any guards. I recalled Metagross and looked around from behind a tree. I saw several guards guarding the entrance well. Too bad they never knew what I was capable of. I climbed up the tree and looked at the police who were in the area. Swiftly I jumped next to a police car and hid myself under my cape.

This was a bit risky, but orders are orders. I quietly crept into the hotel trying to quietly sneak from wall to wall. I noticed that there were a few cameras watching the area. This was a bit difficult I needed something to keep me safe. I then heard a guard whistling by. That was my ride passed the cameras. I kept my cape on and followed the officer behind and was concealed well to make the camera look like I was the guard's shadow. Good thing most of the lights were shut off.

I then walked on the stairs and tried to reach the west point. I had no idea what this was about, but it had better have a good plan. I looked around the halls then suddenly two guards were coming, I quickly leaned on the wall with my cape hiding me. I was hoping the two would leave, but they stopped for a while, chatting to each other...
