The premise here is simple. A sentence or two is posted, run though Babelfish in a foreign language then back to English, then posted here along with the language the poster used. For example:
Poster 1: Babelfish is a fun thing to use when you're bored. Things can become quite crazy after a few run-throughs, especially with the Asiatic languages, Greek, and Russian.
Poster 2: Japanese. "Babelfish when it does boringly, pleasantly is straw raincoat which is used thing. Thing becomes the Asian language, small-numbered run-throughs where the Greek person, and the Russian have been attached later hugely and it is possible especially to become insanity."
Poster 3: Greek. "The Babelfish when boringly, it is pleasantly raincoat of straw that is used thing. The thing becomes the Asiatic language, small is numbered the run-throughs-run where the Greek person, and the Russian have been connected slower important and it is possible specifically becomes lunacy."
*about 20 posts later*
Poster 1: Time for a new sentence! When waffles rain from the sky, the rivers shall flow with cheese and Neils Bohrs will gallop across the land.
Poster 2: Russian. "When waffles go rain from the sky, rivers will pass with gallop cheese and will Neils Bohrs through the earth."
And so on. Just a few things:
1)Don't post a new sentence unless it's been at LEAST twenty (contributing) posts since the last one.
2)Make sentences somewhat complex. "I like cheese" isn't going to be changed enough in Babelfish to be funny.
3)Post babelfished sentences as is. Don't try to "fix" any words that got stuck in another language.
4)Add the languages you used to the chain the previous person posted, like so: "English->Dutch->English", then "English->Dutch->English->Korean->English". The previous chain will be deleted when a new sentence comes up, obviously.
5)Failure to post the full translation chain gives the next poster full authority to ignore your post.
6)More rules may be added if the need arises.
And now...the first sentence.
As the blue birds sang, the sky glowed crimson, and meteors rained down upon the people who ran and screamed while they were on fire.
