silver is much tougher than gold IMO as recall using metagross, gengar & dusclops for silver. Why 2 ghosts? because of lapras' horn drill. My gold team was undefeated in my one hot streak as all I did was replaced dusclops with blissey after a match where plusle swept my entire team at trainer #14 I think.

Based on my 6 gold symbols post:

1. naive starmie attacks most the time, also knows recover
2. naughty metagross double teams to max then attacks when low on health
3. bold blissey can make all moves with seismic toss, toxic, softboiled, aromatherapy

Adamant heracross with swordsdance and megahorn
Dragon dancing salamence adamant
Adamant slaking with choiceband and only attacking moves
Something naughty with double team
Naive special sweeper (I have a Naive latios it works really well)

well every time I use ddmence it dragon dances at the wrong moment(hardy nature) when it needs to make a hard hit. Supporting moves doesn't work well. Replinishing moves rock here!(like softboiled,recover)

I like EE's naughty metagross but sometimes people without pateince and just want to sweep the pokemon that beat your last just use:
Metagross
Naughty
Meteor Mash
Earthquake
Sludge Bomb
Shadow ball

If you use naughty be careful of never reaching half health (never the case really)
