Hm, interesting. There will be two volumes: Red and Yellow. I wonder what these are actually about. Is it something new inside? They're probably specials, like maybe featuring the best chapters of the character that manga is about. That's just my guess.

The second volume is only mentioned on the site without details, but according to Amazon, it'll be released December 2006. By the way, those obviously aren't the real pictures that Amazon displays.

With these and Pikachu's ani-manga, could Viz be starting up again with Pokemon?

What I am confused about is, I thought viz stopped pokemon, so why are they realesing a new pokemon manga related thing?

They still have it licensed, so they could do whatever they want.

Maybe they just realized that the Pokemon manga was one of the most expensive ones on the shelves and decided to try again. Also, not many people (Pokemon fans and manga readers alike) are aware of what the Pokemon Adventures manga is about. And not all Pokemon fans are aware of the manga. So, they don't get much notice. That's what I think anyway.

Hahaha...Ah, I sure hope that Viz doesn't start to revive the Pokemon Adventures manga. After spending almost $300 to import 'em as a labor of love, I really don't want to see them published right in the US for like, $10 each...I'd hafta go choke someone!

Okay, seriously, if they WERE republished out here again, it'd be pretty cool. No one would hafta scramble trying to find them or scans or order outta the country. But what does the "Best Of" entail?

this could either mean they are republishing the series, or they are putting Red's best chapters into one volume...i hope its the former.

Perhaps if enough people buy this, maybe they'll start up on the series again? :/ I know I'm gonna buy it.

By the description, it's the first few chapters, up to the part where Red gets Pikachu, and maybe a little more.

Rather Peculiar... I remeber this article from somewhere before... was it on amazon, perhaps ebay or was it a dream of mine... anyways! The Strangest part of this whole thing is the fact that they are using the original Japanese cover with english words. This might be an expirement to see how much the public perfers Pokemon manga (due to the slowly progressing popularity of Pokemon Adventures in North America)... perhaps maybe if we buy enough of it they'll finally realize how much bringing pokemon manga to North America would mean to the public. Has anyone wondered why Nintendo Power's Pokemon Mystery Dungeon:Gingi's Rescue Team and this "The Best of Pokemon Adventures" series are far to close...? Is this a cinscidence? Or are VIZ and Nintendo somehow interlinked but haven't yet revealed this to the ongoing public and are planning some kind of surprise...? Has VIZ and Nintendo had this up their sleeves all these years...? Plus I think that VIZ may have read things such as the online petitions and threads on certain sites that have finally convinced them that hat is just enough to make them bring Pokemon manga (all of those series) that they've missed over the years...?

Viz gave up on the pokemon thing a long while ago. Maybe the recent upburst in liking of pokemon manga and the decreasing like of the anime has somehow resurfaced the idea of re-doing the manga. Not to mention, the Manga market HAS grown since then, so maybe Viz wants to redo that manga, since the last time was edited and crappy dialouge (They did it before with other manga).

Heh...if Pokemon Special gets popular here....maybe, there will be an anime version of it? XD One can dream, right? XD

Okay, here's our chance guys. Everyone MUST buy one copy. If Viz see's sales pop high enough, it is very possible they'll continue on and go past the volumes already made.

Yeah, I found 5 of the 7 volumes they translated on Ebay and bought them all. Thats when I discovered this "Best of" thing. Lets hope they start translating the Manga again - I really want it all and I don't have the kind of money to get the Chuang Yi versions.

This is most definitly excelent news. I have to say, I think its largely thanks to Serebii and Coronis, who by having all the stuff about Pokemon Special on their site, got people interested in this Manga that was pretty much dead in America. I'm pretty much definitly going to buy one.

I also may be in part of PUSA getting back the Anime license.

Anyway, I'm DEFINATELY buying these, and every Manga fan should so we can get more volumes (and write to Viz as well)

Most likely they realized that the original Pokemon manga came out at a time when Manga was much less hot, and the whole style of manga releases has evolved since then. Back in the day most manga was sold in individual issues in comic stores and then collected into the volumes we all know and love. Nowadays, most manga skips the individual issues and goes straight to the volumes.

So now, with the new market, they're releasing these best ofs most likely to see if there is still interest.

Or maybe they already intend to release the later volumes and are using these best ofs to catch people up. Either way, buy these books.

Some people on BMG said this will probably be a test to see if alot of people buy them, to see if its worth republishing in US.

I'm seriously hoping, but not expecting, this to be right-to-left and with the correct Green/Blue thing, but I guess I'm just dreaming.

I'm DEFINITELY buying a copy of this, and any subsequent volumes. I can't find these at bookstores at all anymore, and my Chinese collection has gaps. I hope enough fans buy this to encourage Viz to bring in the rest *o*.
