The Bridge Bike Gang! (036)

Lorde

Let's go to the beach, each.
I always wondered why Cycling Road's bike path was supposedly complete while the main road apparently wasn't. Anyway, I cackled when Misty tried to throw her bike at Psyduck, and seeing Team Rocket being idolized by the bike gang was neat. Overall, I was glad that the sick Shellder was cured and that Ash and co. made friends with the bike gang.

I enjoyed learning a bit about Jessie and James here and Misty trying to throw the bicycle at Psyduck was funny. I liked the bridge crossing scene also especially how Team rocket didn't make it across. :3

Lol the fact that James needed training wheels on his bike when he was young made me not take the gang seriously...

After seeing how the bicycle gang got all fangirly when they saw Jessie and James again, I kind of took them less seriously as well. They redeemed themselves by escorting Ash's group at the end however. :3

The Psyduck match where he wagged his tail was too funny. I liked seeing the bicycle path from R/B/Y and the TRio being popular was a good twist. 8/10

Props to Masa's Thunder themed bike. I thought that Koduck's battle against Misa's Parshen was the funniest thing I had watched in the whole Kanto saga, and the fact that Musashi and Kojirou were worshiped by Masa's gang was such a neat twist. The sick Shellder subplot felt like the only weak link here.

Omg, Psyduck was so hilarious in this episode. It was cool seeing Cloyster for the first time. I loved the way it battled. It was nice how the biker guys gave them an escort like they were cops or something.

This is the first episode where we got some of the TRio's backstory, but then in future episodes their past gets too confusing and messes with the timeline given here. :(

Sadly, this is true. Musashi and Kojirou knowing each other as kids in the city from this episode was later contradicted when we found out that they first met at the Rocket-dan's training base.

Psyduck battling Cloyster was epic in a funny way. I liked how Jessie and James were well known in this city but I didn't like how Ash had to go deliver some Pokemon medicine.

In hindsight, I don't understand why Cycling Road was said to have been incomplete here when it seemed finished to me. I mean, clearly it had to have been finished since Satoshi and friends crossed it.

Another filler episode even though it is loosely based on a part of the gen 1 games. It was kind of cool seeing part of Jessie and Jame's backstory not sure why James was admired when he used training wheels even Chopper's line delivery made it sound kind of odd.

I don't remember what the excuse was for the medicine delivery subplot, but I wonder why Joi didn't simply have the sick Shellder transferred to her Pokemon Center so that she could've treated it herself.

The episode was alright. I didn't like how Ash's Bulbasaur lost to Golem so quickly, yet the same Golem lost to Charmander. Misty trying to hit Psyduck with a Bike irked me, I wish Cloyster had used Clamp on Psyduck's head. I liked it when the Bikers admired Ash and his friends decision to brave the weather to deliver the medicine.

I felt that Fushigidane's loss was ridiculous as well, and it seemed like Hitokage won simply to continue the trend of him being Satoshi's powerhouse Starter in Kanto.

I loved the battles here like Golem versus Charmander since it was really funny and even Psyduck versus Cloyster made me smile when Psyduck hurt himself. I thought that the fact that Jessie and James grew up in the same town was too coincidental to pass as organic, but I liked how the bikers respected their reputation. Too bad that Team Rocket fell into the sea at the end during their unicycle stunt.

My favorite scene from this episode was when Jessie and James jumped in the air with their unicycles because for a second it looked like they were going to make it to other other side but Ash and his friends just crushed them under their bicycles. I had a lot of questions about the bridge though like how it was supposedly not finished even though the bicycle path was done and I was confused about when exactly Jessie and James lived in the area. 6/10
