You guys cannot be blaming the kid here... you guys are low if you are. A 17 year old lost his parents, family, girlfriend, friends, and more people because a stupid ******* thought he was suspicious, followed him EVEN WHEN THE COPS TOLD HIM NOT TOO, and killed him. I wish that boy kicked his ***. The boy died with a bag of skittles and tea... if you are blaming the kid here, your as bad as the killer in my eyes.

You know it is possible the boy was killed because he fought in the first place.

I had a situation once many years ago where I gave a young lady some Aspirin from the aspirin bottle. But someone had dumped the aspirin and put Niacin in instead. It's used when you want to beat a urinalysis. However you really need to be ready for the pins and needles you will have from taking the required amount. She was not!

Ok so she is back at my apartment with a male friend screaming up a storm at how I poisoned her! When I figured out what happened I of course apologized for my mistake. Thee male friend kept insisting I did it on purpose... blah blah blah! Had I lost my cool that day, I'd be dead. He was packing a major hand cannon and was waiting for me to get aggressive!

If Tray did react as Zimm has said (Which is possible), then Zimm had a right to shoot him with all the possible outcomes that were inevitable. I am not blaming Tray, but I am open to the possibility that Zim MIGHT have had cause to shoot (NOT to kill mind you but to shoot). Let's not forget, teens kill people a lot of the time, they do it on purpose some of the times too. There is a teen gang here that is quite violent and no older than the victim in this case, I don't judge guilt or innocence by how young/old people are.

You're blaming the kid here.. wow.
Try to picture it like this; your favorite person/cousin/friend is walking home from school and a mysterious guy is following him/or her. He/her calls you and says somebody has been following him/her for awhile.. and now he is chasing him/her. So he/her is running away, but eventually figures out the man is faster then her, so in the flight or fight situation has to go with fight. The man fights your friend and kills him/her. The killer claims it was self defense after he kills your friend, and the police believe it.
Picture that. How would you reply to this? Even then, imagine if YOU were the boy, and you were forced to fight.
Don't be an *******, because it is obvious it is the man's fault.

No I'm saying IF it happened just as Zim described then and only then did Zim have a right to fire his pistol. I am not blaming Tray, I am defining WHEN Tray would be a viable target.

I would hope my favorite cousin would have had the smarts to have asked why are you following me, or to walk directly to a house with lights on and ring the door bell to draw out a witness or four.

We don't want to put ME in that situation because I would have directly questioned Zim calmly as to why he was following me, gave him the address I was headed and invited him to accompany me if it would make him feel better once I found out he was with the watch.

Then again I stopped being afraid of "scary situations" after my first green belt... I was that boy back when I was 16ish, I incapacitated my assailant with a blow to the larynx and ran like hell from his startled friends. *shrug* Next question?

Most people tend to run away when someone with a gun follows them, it very common for a human to do such a thing.

IF the gun is drawn sure.. But if the gun was drawn before Tray started allegedly wailing on Zimm then Zimm
is a huge looser or Tray is badash will basketballs! Cause I'd think twice before going after someone with a gun in hand ;)

And what evidence do you have of that? There are reports of a scuffle, from the marks on Zimmerman's head, to the grass stains on his coat. If Zimmerman wished to kill Martin in cold blood, he could have shot him in the back. That would be the safest way wouldn't it?

What I still don't get is, if Zimmerman was as determined to kill Martin no matter what he did, as you both assert, why did he bother calling the police on him? If he was going to do it anyway, why get the police involved, and why tip off the police before killing someone?

Also, for all Trey knows, that man could be trying to rape or kidnap him...

You know there are a lot of violent teens and teen killers so it's very possible that Zimmerman had the right to shoot, not to necessarily kill, but shoot to disarm.

That really isn't a excuse, and really why would he try to kidnap or rape someone, in the middle of a subdivision at the middle of the night in which there would be tons of witnesses.

Do you honestly believe he approached Martin wishing to kill him? Despite the fact he called the cops, despite the fact that he got into a fight with Martin, and despite the fact that it would be easier to kill him at a distance?

Martin is an idiot. So are you if you are standing up with him. What do you think he wanted to do to Trey? Hug him and give him kisses? A 17 year old boy lost his life because of a stupid wanna-be cop thought he was the law. Give Trey the respect and don't stand up for this..criminal, bully.

I believe he wanted to know what a strange kid was doing in the neighborhood out at night. Especially since they had a rash of break ins. And Trey deserves a fair trial to determine what justice Zimmerman deserves, be it innocent or guilty of murder. Nothing less, nothing more.

Trey is dead, he doesn't have a trial. The only trial there is Zimmerman's case where he kill Trey. Also, Zimmerman is done, he in jail. 2nd Degree murder. He done.
