That's a nifty concept. Perhaps people at the outskirts of town discussing intentions of going to the next city, or maybe even having other people walking through the whole route as opposed to standing there or just pacing back and forth. It'd be cool knocking them out then watching them run to the Pokémon Center, so that if you ever go back there, they might be hanging out there asking for a rematch, even.

Oh, you know what else. In the *real world*, there aren't routes between cities, and sometimes they're even right beside each other with no real seperation aside from municipality signs. Back to back cities might be cool, albeit large and maybe even slightly confusing depending on how they'd go about it.

i've got some ideas for this i hope that like half he region is big cities and a whole lot of buildings and the other half is warm beaches and there alot of water and some of the huge cities have bridges and 1 or two of the cities have airports and you can go to the other regions like ezzet said after you beat the e4 and like ther'll be this man that'll tell you about this chain of islands that contains the games trio but theres a city on each island

Oh, that gives me a tantalizing idea...

Perhaps there could be two back-to-back towns that are relatively small but chock-full of hotshot trainers. These two towns are akin to the Elite Four champions as Virginia is to the United States presidency: both towns have had more champions of the league than any other town besides each other; they have both had the same number of champions. However, people from each town will constantly flout otherwise, stating that their town has sent more than the other town. In both towns, there is a stylistic dome where intense battles are held. When travelling in there, you have to be careful because anybody might battle you: a citizen of the town, a travelling salesman, even the attendant of the Pokemon Center facility within the dome might challenge you. You have to think on your feet wherever you go.

However, once you defeat all of the trainers in one of the town at least once, you will be given an honorary denizenship to that town. Once you are an honorary denizen of both towns and end up becoming the champion, you will be become pivotal in a process that will let the towns form a joint municipality, complete with a portmanteau of both of the names of each town. This will open up myriad more opportunities for you from WiFi sources, allowing you to be eligible for placement within a special high-caliber battle arena on the servers. The battles that ensue on this area of the server will render you eligible for prizes in the real world should you so choose to elect for that.

However, this will be no easy feat. These trainers will exhibit the strongest of AIs, ones that will even learn to some extent what you are likely to do as a trainer and a human. Their Pokemon are EV-trained and laden with egg, tutor, and TM moves. In addition, they even have custom Hidden Powers, so don't be surprised when one of their Jolteon OHKOs your Swampert with an HP Grass.

Be prepared.

As long as there aren't annoying cities I'm not too worried about it. Fortree got really annoying because I'm really impatient and it took SO long to get across those bridges. I liked the idea of a water oriented city like Sootopolis but it was really spread out and a little inconvenient. I agree that the big cities should be bigger and more interactive and as cliche as it is I'd really like an icy town.

I'll have to disagree with you on that one. It's nice to actually slow down, enjoy the scenery {0_o}, and enjoy the game for once. I hate rushing through Pokémon games, because you'll finish it in a week, and then sit there like a moron, training until level 100 .. it's retarded ..

I wouldn't mind seeing a country town nestled by a valley or a river.

Personally, I want DP towns to be a TON more realistic.

I agree with everyone who mentioned a huge town. Maybe the E4 one. I was spuer-disappointed with Evergrande (sp?). There should be a huge dome, where a big tournament would go off every say, month or something. Also Wi-Fi and online battles would be battled there.

The subway idea is awesome. I'd love having a train going from city to city, maybe having 2 or 3 stations in the E4 town. I also agree with ArrEmmDee on the airport idea, and Eszett on the mountain town idea.

Lately, I've also been thinking of some kind of uncivilicized (sp?) island with an indian tribe. You'd get a few sidequests then a big one which you have to defeat a "holy" Pokemon, then you'd get a prize.

I'll think of something else later, gotta go eat. Bye.

Possibly the Pokemon League City could be built on top of a giant mountain...?

Failing that, have it held up in the air by an ancient old psychic power.

For those who are complaining about the cities being too big: It's not like the game can't provide maps for the individual metropolises.

Anyway, I have another idea!....I would like to see a settlement that is entirely underground, like in a quarry or something. It would have a variety of festivities involving its proximity to the mining areas, and there would be an event there that would allow you to salvage such things as Nuggets, Star Dust and Star Pieces, Hard Stones, Soft Sand, Everstones, and some new items possibly relating to salt. This place would be somewhat comparable to Goron City in Ocarina of Time, but of course it would be adapted to fit the Pokemon world.

Call me retarded and obsessive, but who'd live there?

The people who are employed by the quarry. I live in a town where it's confirmed the air pollution from all the factories increases the risk of every sort of cancer under the sun, yet there's a population of 200,000. Why? Because there's employment!!!

(I on the other hand intend to escape to an out of city university and never return!!!!)

Anyway, personal sob story aside, that's who would live there. People without enough education to get employed anywhere else, so they'd live there. Oooh, perhaps a city where people aren't all happy, and actually are bitter and complain about things. Nifty.

One of my many fantasy cities would be a huge bridge-city. There would be a wide valley, possibly a stream or something. And towering high abouve amongst the clouds is a huge pillar of rock arcing across the valley. There would be the top level (the bridge itself, Sky bridge or something), the middle level (kind of merchant-town or something), and the bottom level. There would be hundreds of reverse buildings hanging off the bottom of the bridge, and people would inhabit these places. There could be several bridges criss-crossing the buildings. And finally, there could be a large reverse dome hanging from the center of the bridge; in a contest or something, you could see through the bottom of the dome into the valley a hundred feet below.

I would love to see a town in the snow, with an accessable ski-field (Ice-types could be found aplenty there) and a large town housing the Pokemon League. Ever Grande City just doesn't cut the mustard for me, I'm afraid.

Well personally I like the idea of having something futuristic like in back to the future but at the same time something old like in zelda, but the current tense places suck.
So I want really advanced or really poorly advanced that is not much seen anywhere.

how about a town that's actually bluit within the branches of a gigantic tree? one branch of this tree is as big as a route. This "Tree Route" serves as the entrance to the town...

or how about a Western-themed town in the middle of the desert, complete with a saloon that serves as a pokemon center. There's also a plot point where the town is being troubled by a bunch of outlaws and you gotta serve as sheriff to save the day.

or how about a floating city in the clouds? A pokemon Laputa persay, held aloft by a magic crystal.

I'd love to see a bit of futurisim in later cities, I mean Sootopolis was really cool, something that is totally unique in the PKMN world. I'd like to see more cities like that. Something like LaRousse would be awesome, with moving platforms and things.

I have some supporting details to add on to other suggestions, such as the snow town.

I would like to have a snow covered mountain, with maybe a few towns, and only towns. They would be villages, sort of like Eszett's Goron idea, kind of secluded, and not many people. Plus, an extra bonus on this idea, would to have to cross-country ski, or snowmobile across a plain of snow, or valley, whatever you would wish to call it, to get to either a Gym Leader, or the next town, which would essentially hold a Gym Leader. Plus, you can use a ski hill, but Nintendo would bring back Skiiers, and Boarders, like in Pryce's gym, and you could battle them on your way down. The hill itself could act somewhat like the Bike Path in Fire Red/Leaf Green, as in you go fast coming down, but you could .. maybe only shuffle up? I don't know about that idea, but I was just wondering about some of other one, and what people might think of them.

That, my friend, is something I've thought about forever, but I could never think of a realistic way for them to exist, until now.
Maybe these cities could have a base laden with multiple high power fans on the bottom, which hold the city up. The only way to get to these cities though would be an airport.

The city seems abandon at first, but then you realize everyone is out digging for gems and precious metals that they are obssesed with, what's more they are als obsessed with shiny/alt color pokemon. There could be a mine, an abandon mine, the gym could be a mine, like the cinnibar gym cave in crystal. They may even give you something if you have a shiny.

I've always wanted a true port city. Not like Olivine which was small, or Slateport which was lacking, or even Vermillion. A true port city with traders selling their goods and people from all over the reigon, and a huge lighthouse (a more asctetically pleasing version of the Olivine one) and all. It would be so cool

Hmm, I'm fancying seeing a Silicon Valley of sorts within this new region. Essentially, you have this booming business area with technology out the wazoo. A postmodern Pokemon Center in both design and function would greet you on your way into this futuristic haven, and a hypermarket with a huge inventory would also be present within the bounds of the city. However, more than ever are things automated: instead of going up several flights of steps to order what you want in the market, you can opt to use the kiosks in the main lobby instead. Besides all of these egregious revamps, you would also be able to behold a futuristic arcade-like place. It's somewhat like the Game Corner, but it's less competitive and allows you to use your Pokemon within it. I surmise extensive use of the stylus within these games. (Maybe even something like Laser Tag, perhaps?)

Sounds quite incredible to me. D:
