The cities - for what are you hoping?

Perhaps a place where the old and the shunned trainers reside in peace, with the occasional friendly match? Breeding center town, similar to Agate?

I would also like to see a mountain town situated at a high altitude. It is perenially covered in snow, which is reflected on the roofs and throughout the streets of the city. A skilift within the town would allow you to access the start of the skiing path at the top of the mountain while an alternative walking route would allow you to hike up there or use a mountain bike, all the while being privy to encountering wild Pokemon. However, the town itself presents a unique delight with its very own theater enclosed within a dome of ice. Here, you can view a variety of movies which would either be on the cartridge or otherwise downloadable from some network.
I particularly like this idea quite a lot, what with the snow covering the floor would be beautiful in sight. And to the encountering wild Pokémon on the choice of hiking or riding mountain bike, perhaps have those encounters be of water/ice types that are well, matching to the area.

As one mentioned about Agate Village, the game could have something like that for resting purposes and perhaps a place to learn about the Pokémon in the area or the world, including of the other regions. - Not sure myself on how, but perhaps something like you posted below. Uncovering more about the Pokémon themselves now...

Hmm...to expand upon this, I'm thinking that it could be a recurring event to go on expositions of the surrounding routes as sponsored by this city. From these observational sojourns, one would be able to unravel - to an extent - the mysteries that the game has up to this point kept secret. Light will be shed on such obvious matters as evolution patterns and which Pokemon inhabit which regions (these trips would go to the other regions as well), but it would also serve to uncover such attributes as what natures do and the presence of shinies.

Come back. D:

Oh My! Noodlesoup!
I would like to see a flying city, you know, a city in the air, maybe on top of a cloud.
Of course it has a big elevator to the ground.
In the city will be lots of houses, maybe the library someone mesioned before and a Flying-type gym. Looks quite nice, doesn't it?;)

For one, I'm sure hoping that this all-new region will encompass some newfangled cities such as the ones I just described.

You could have the key item "skis"

You could for some of the time, but what if your going up hill or something? I think that I'd rather have a snowmobile, although I'm quite doubtful that will ever happen. A choice of a snowboard might be cool.

Also, it would be nice if you could change your outfit. I don't think you're gunna go skiing in 'adventure wear'. When you reach the town, you should be able to put on a jacket, or have the game even alert that it's cold out, and that you have to put it on.

I think we should be able to go into every building, not just a select few.

Also, I would like to see the ruins of an ancient city with hidden treasure and super rare pokemon.

There could also be an elaborate underground tunnel system created by diglets that would allow travel between cities just as a different way of getting around. Something much bigger then diglets cave.

Should also add more pokemon services to cities. Bring back the pokemon salon like they had in the underground on g/s.

Yes, there could be. But, you're not planning to go up and down the hill, so why would there be?

Hmm, this is giving me another idea: a city set around a marsh with raft boat houses and that whole spiel. It was originally established as an ad-hoc scientific outpost to study this marshy area, but it gained considerable affluence and ended up being a permanent place of residence. There are some rickety planks that allow you to get to the most important areas, but in order to further your progress beyond the town and enter the creepy swamp area of the game, you need to get some boots to travel across the knee-high waters of the marsh. However, you need to keep on moving while in the waters or else you'll sink. Don't bother riding your bike into it; the mud will clog the tires and you have to pay to repair it.

I'll be describing the Pokemon you can find in the swamp as a little mini-series within the Ideas for New Pokemon thread; stay tuned for the first installment.

An abandoned island...could have Nosepass like Kecleon were in Fortree and have the island like Easter Island(surrounded by Nosepass-looking structures) witha giant pool of water in the middle where the gym is located.

DEFINATELY a Desert Town.

I would also like to see another secret underground city, like The Under in Colosseum.

How about a ritzy-glitzy, lights always shining place a la Las Vegas. It could obviously be the home to the casino of the world.

Well it would be great if they did two huge cities instead of just one. I like the marketin slateport thought it could sell more items. They should also re-include the radio tower - it was really nice!

Why would they bother to combine two cities in different regions?

Anyway, I want to see some high-altitude city akin to Denver in the real world. Not necessarily snow-covered, just high up. This will change a few aspects of the city from its closer-to-sea-level counterparts, such as the boiling point of water and other aspects. But more impressive than little quirks like that (which I don't think will be implementable) will be the hike up to the city.

Eszett i agree with your idea, anyway i'de like to see a high-tec city you know with a high-tec lap & factory & houses now that would be awesome also i recommand that in the factory there're trainers (scientists) also under it it's the hideout out of the new team but this time in the hideout you can use computers & heal your pokemon

Ooh.

A Chernobyl-like (or Pompeii) city. Some sort of city that had some major accident occur, which caused basically everyone to leave either for their health due to some sort of nuclear exposure, or safety because maybe there was a massive volcanic eruption threatening them all. There'd be a few stubborn elders who refused to leave the city due to some sort of nostalgic significance to it, but it'd be obvious their health is depleting.

Maybe a town near a mountain had a landslide, and most of the city ended up being buried underneath, and you access it via Strength, and it's just at the end of a long cavern, though I think best would be some sort of massive industrial accident, causing people to evacuate, and the city to be full of Poison types who thrive in the environment, and maybe some rock types totally unphased by the pollution.

It'd probably serve best as a city that's looking rather archaic in design, when compared to several of the modernized cities surrounding it. It'd also be cool if it turned out it was a former stronghold for the bad guys of the game, and looking around in some of their abandoned buildings would provide insight into both their past and potential future.
