I'm thinking that I might get the Japanese version off of ebay or something when it comes out.

no if i could read japanese then yeah but since i can't no i want to be able to read it!

If i could read japanese then i would. It would be a waste of money because sometimes you ahve to read the stuff to know what is going on.

Let's do it!
Someone said that a couple weeks after the Japanese release they release a quickly made English version of the game (probably by Hong Kong or something). There's a good chance I'll buy that if I can find it.

Now, what would be the point of getting it if I can't understand Japanese?

I've played versions like that, and half the time they talk gibberish

Patience is a virtue. :p

I can wait. Playing through it in Japanese always ruins it for me.

Since Pokemon games are pretty much in Hiragana and Katakana, I can manage through with it. I'll most likely be importing, yes.

Do want to remind you folks, though, that Japanese games cost more than those released outside of the US. You can expect a good number of Hong Kong sellers on eBay selling it for close to $50 or $60. PlayAsia and Lik-Sang ftw.

I wonder if now we will be able to trade/battle with a jap cart, with the WiFi thing. And maybe hope with a universal version, with the option to swith lenguages.
And sorry if i have any spelling or grammar mistakes, im not used to english, it´s not my first (or second for what matters >_>) lenguage. I will be thankful if corrected ^_^

Probably not. Japan would have to be working with America or Japan would have to be the one deciding on the English names of the Pokemon, trainers, people, locations, abilities, attacks, and items in order for there to be a Pokemon game that's in both languages.

However, it might be likely we could trade and battle across the world through the WiFi feature. Though they haven't specified if the WiFi in the game will allow global or nation wide play.

I'll most likely be porting for the same reason, I'm good with Hiragana and Katakana, and anything I don't know I can look at a walkthrough for.

Oh and Ed? How much do you think the japanese version is going to cost?

I can't read Japanese but I've played every Pokemon game in Japanese since G/S and I actually enjoy it.

I've already pre-ordered the Japanese version from play-asia.com :)
