The Benmeister
Master of Magnet
I'm getting jealous of all of these fanfics, so I've decided to make one myself. It will be based around the forgotten region, Johto. It loosely revolves around the main plot of the GSC games, although it will have many twists and turns along the way...

Prologue
Beep. Beep beep. Beep beep.
Damian woke to his alarm clock. Wondering what was going on, he moaned in annoyance when he found out what it was. He lazily moved his arm towards his alarm clock, and slammed his hand down on the ‘Alarm Off’ button. Damian then groaned – he had forgotten to turn off his alarm this morning, as it was the Easter holidays.
Great start to the holidays, he thought.
Damian turned his head and saw a bright ray of sunlight was coming through the middle of his pair of curtains. It was a nice day – Damian decided he might as well get up now, so he could have more time playing out. Then he thought that his friends might still be sleeping, but Damian didn’t care.
Throwing his bedclothes across the room, he pushed himself up and out of his single bed. He slowly walked over to his wardrobe and opened it. Since most of his clothes were currently hanging on the washing line in his garden, he was hardly spoilt for choice on what to wear, but he settled with his ‘casual’ outfit; a dark blue t-shirt, and a pair of dark blue jeans. He picked up any old pair of boxers and socks, and removed his grey pyjama top and bottom, then dressed into his attire.
He slowly walked over to the curtains, and drew them wide open. He winced slightly at the immediate sunlight, as it was quite bright for only 8 o clock in the morning. As expected, outside was very empty. Hooking the curtains onto the curtain holders, he proceeded to go to the bathroom to clean his teeth. Once done, Damian exited the bathroom and decided he needed a drink. Heading downstairs, he heard that the TV was already switched on. He figured his mother was trying to catch an early program, or something.
Entering the kitchen, he took two glasses out of the cupboard and lay then on the kitchen surface. He then called through to the living room ‘Hey mum, you want a drink?’
No response. ‘Mum?’ he asked again. With another lack of response, he went to check if she was actually listening. ‘Deaf old woman,’ Damian muttered to himself.
Indeed, in the living room, his mother was watching the news.
‘Mum, do you want a…’ Damian asked again, but his mother raised her hand and pointed her other hand at the TV. Damian walked over so that he could see what she was watching. It was a news report, in which currently a tall male wearing a black suit was standing at the gates of the ever-famous Indigo Plateau…
‘…trying to gain access to Dominic inside,’ is what Damian picked up ‘oh wait,’ the man continued ‘we’ve just been informed that Dominic is attempting to interrupt our service to tell us his demands of…’
The screen then went fuzzy, and when it finally came back in it showed video footage of a man with a square patch of hair covering his head. With the camera zoomed in on his face, he began to speak:
‘This is Dominic Cronaw. As you all know, I have taken control of the Indigo Plateau. Resistance is futile. However, you have a chance to save yourselves from impending doom. I will allow one person to make a stand. That person must obtain the normal eight league badges, starting from now, and they must be willing to risk the lives of many people in Johto and Kanto to do so…’
‘Who is this guy?’ Damian asked his mother.
‘I don’t know,’ she replied ‘all I know is he has obtained access to the Indigo Plateau and is making it his headquarters for his grand plans. He has the place under total security and his men are out causing major trouble,’
‘Could that mean we could be attacked?’ Damian asked.
‘Well, it is a pretty high risk,’ his mother responded.
Damian turned to the TV to see Dominic was still blabbering on.
‘Hey, no evil organisation is going to stop me playing outside! I’ve made plans for today, and I’m not about to sit in here all day!’
His mother has never really had a good relationship with her son, so she merely responded ‘There you go again, wasting your life. Well, don’t say I didn’t warn you when you get attacked,’
Damian ignored her remark and headed out the front door. But little did he know that this would take him on a very perilous journey…one that would put his life, and the lives of others, in great danger…
