Okay, so has anybody heard of these "Cooking Animés"? Animés that have a storyline and plot based on nothing but cooking. I'm not fond of the idea, but there are actually some Cooking Animés that are actually better-than-average animés... In fact, I found one better than any ordinary animé.

So, here's a list of the Cooking Animés I've encountered...

Mr. Ajikko:

- A story about a boy named Yuichi Ajiyoushi, who wants to be the best Freestyle Chef (A Chef who specializes on every kind of dish.) in all of Japan. He becomes the apprentice of a Dish Tycoon, and later becomes one himself, after entering various cooking tournaments, and winning.

If I were to rate it, it would get a 3/5.

Cooking Master Boy:

- A chinese boy, Liu Mao-hsing, journeys to the giant city of Guangdong to learn more about the art of Chinese Cuisine. He then enters Dumpling-making Contests and other Chinese Cuisine-related Cooking Tournaments. He then passes the Super Chef Exam, and travels around China to find the Eight Divine Cooking Utensils.

If I were to rate it, it would get a 2/5.

Yakitate!! Japan:

- A 15-year old boy from the countryside, Azuma Kazuma, goes to the bustling heart of Japan, Tokyo to become the greatest baker. Azuma is gifted with Solar Hands, which makes bread ferment faster and taste more delicious. He then wins the Pantasia Newcomer's Battle, and gets to study in Europe along with his friends, Kawachi Kyousuke and Suwabara Kai. There, they form Team Yakitate and participate in the Monaco Cup. They win, and six months later, there is a Baking Battle between Pantasia and St. Pierre, and Azuma, Kawachi, and Azuma's other friend, Shigeru, form Team Yakitate!! 9. (Suwabara became a ninja and left Team Yakitate.)

If I were to rate it, it would get 4/5.

So, has anybody else heard of these Cooking Animés?

Yup. I've watched two so far. "Cooking Master Boy" and this other one called "Bistro Recipe" or something like that.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of them. ^^;; I only liked "Cooking Master Boy" so far.

I saw the first episode of Yakitate!! when I downloaded it not actually knowing what it was. It took me the whole 20 minutes to get my head around the fact that it was an anime about making bread, I guess the shock has sort of turned me off those types of shows, I can't really get into them.
