I love Drew. He's a cool rival, and much more developed then Gary. The friendly rival the writers wish they could have made in Johto
After watching part one of the Grand Festival at the Indigo Stadium I'm beginning to like Drew a bit more.
Till now I didn't care much for him because he seemed quite..... blah. He started out as arrogant then as a respectful and respecting rival and now we seemingly get to see why he's so emotionally cold and distant.
Anyway, I voted that I like him.

I like him. Of course I'm not CRAZY about him, but that's probably because I'm not a girl. I don't squeal with delight when Drew flicks his hair or when he hands May roses, or have my eyes glued to the screen when he appears in a bathing suit.
I think one of the most appealing parts of Drew's character is how he's changed since his debut. He originally came off as just an arrogant pretty boy, who just tried to rub his wins and his talent in May's face every chance he got. Drew has changed a lot since then, and the writers have given him some good backstory to make him seem like a more realistic character.
Of course, I also think he's troubled in some way. He keeps most of his thoughts to himself, and he can become quite scary at times when he starts yelling, (see preview to 2nd GF episode). He's also a bit of a loner, only have one real long time friend, and basically having no family that cheers him on.
Its also nice to see his team moving away from his girliness, (what kind of guy prances around with a Roselia as his lead Pokemon?) to more masculine and powerful Pokemon. He's in general a good character because he does what he needs to do, be two steps ahead of May, and increase the shoujo aspect of May's storyline. Its amusing to see those ignorant people on the lesser Pokemon sites try to claim that May's storyline is not shoujo, or that she's not important despite having these rivals and her own quest, what a bunch of elitists. I can't wait till the writers push their faces into the dirt, and those losers will have nothing better to do than try to rationalize the show for the next three years, and how their "precious" Misty is going to wipe clean what the writers have established for the last 4 1/2 years.

The majority of both Drewfangirls and Mayfanboys annoy the living hell out of me. However, its about the character not their fan base,right? Anyway, I don't like him that much because I never really thought of him as that developed. I know I don't like most of the characters on the show and Drew is no exception. However, I do think he has developed and his team is much more likeable than originally. He's okay but nothing out of the ordinary.

I personally, love Drew. He's an awesome character with great development and one of the more serious characters when it comes to something he wants to achieve. ^^

Okay, I will admit, when I first saw him (way back in May 2004) I really didn't care much for him (plus I was going through my "Men are scum" phase and Tracey's my only man phase). But somewhere between November 2004 and May 2005, I opened up and started to look at Drew in a different light. And he became one of my favorite characters.
Plus he's cute! And next to Harley in my hot list!

Okay, the fact me being a Shuu fanatic was made famous when I change my sig to my current one (which will only be used until the end of the Kanto GF). My first encounter with Shuu was in Yuzuriha Contest, and I still can't really remember why I saw that episode in the first place. I think it's because I watched the Haruka vs. Takeshi episode and that got me interested in contests...
((Cough)) Anyway, I'm glad that I didn't start with the "Flower Power" episode, since I'm sure I would dislike him if I start knowing him as an overconfident jerk. But the arrogance is disappearing, we can't argue with this. He goes from the stage where he has to rub his capability as a coordinator to now, where he give tiny advices to Haruka and (sorta) help her from in the dark (as see in the Arcanine episode where he told her about the Saffron Contest, or the newest episode where he warned her Saori-neesama is tough).
And I have to admit that I have this tiny bit of shotacon fetish in me. XD

He originally came off as nothing more than a Gary knock-off and I didn't appreciate that at all, plus he was May's rival and most likely love interest at the time when I liked her the least:/ Although, I did warm up to him over the course of AG, as he mostly differentiated himself from Gary and was established as his own character, but then the Contestshipping became blatent and uberly popular. Then I lost what little interest I had in Drew.
I put I don't like him hes a cheap knockoff of Gary who i hated
