Okay, think I'm done:

Name: Tenna Darkmine

Gender: Female

Age: 26

Race: Genma

Class: Alchemist

Description:
Tenna looks very child-like. She is around 4 ft tall, and pretty much average weight, but lower than normal muscle tone. She has a high waist, and her chest is not particularly developed, so she has occasionally been mistaken for a teenage boy. Her skin is a violet tinged deep tan. Her face is very round with two tiny horns on her upper forehead. Her eyes are a full rounded shape, and bright green in color. She has black 'cheetah tear' markings/tattoos under her eyes. And her black hair is course, and cut short, leaving it spiky. Her feet are particularly small. She also has a small pair of bat like wings on her back, not big enough to fly, but maybe hover/flitter for a moment or increase her jumping range slightly.

Tenna wears a black peasant top blouse (starts at shoulders), over loose black pants with a magenta-pink cloth belt. On her wrists and shins she has bracers/gauntlets made of brass bands, with triangular sheets over her knees and the backs of her hands. Under these are a pair of black fingerless cotton gloves and tiny black leather boots. She also wears a pair of goggles, made from brass, leather, and blue-tinted glass. When not over her eyes, she places them up over her stubby horns. This is the only convenience about her embarrassingly underdeveloped horns.

She carries a light brown leather shoulder bag (for her alchemy ingredients), and a poisoned sickle.

Personality:
Tenna is a bit thick skinned. She's endured a lot of teasing and verbal harassment from both her own race and others, and therefore has learned to ignore others' comments. She tries to make the best of uncomfortable and difficult situations. However if she has to ignore you often enough, she will ignore every single thing you say, making important communications somewhat difficult.

Tenna is very friendly to those that both to get to know her and treat her nicely, and can be a very useful ally to have. She can synthesize several useful things, and get better prices on the things she can't. She can be rather charismatic when she wants, though sometimes her race gets in the way of convincing others to see things her way. A silver tongued demon, she's been called on occasion.

She's very interested in learning and gathering knowledge, being the only member of her tribe that ever bothered to learn how to read, and probably the first alchemist as well. She prefers learning to fighting, but she can do that too when she needs to, using explosives, traps, and her poisoned sickle. She calculated and relentless, but distant when fighting, applying the same thick skinned attitude as she does with bullies. Her other big passion is traveling, so she's quite excited about the idea of going on a continent wide quest.

Background:
Tenna was born in the Southern Deserts among a nomadic tribe of Genma. Unlike some of the other tribes, her sported wings, that offered a little help in there agility, but little else. For a while Tenna's life was pretty normal, as far as a Genma's life goes, but as she reached her teen years, it became obvious that she wasn't really like the other teenagers. She was still very child-like in appearance, and had an interest in the world outside their culture; in learning to read, learning write, and visiting the cities. As a result, Tenna was somewhat shunned by the other teenagers, who called her names and made fun of her ambitions.

One night Tenna made a life changing decision. She ran away, well, walked away. As a teenager, her parents no longer interfered with her decisions, plus they probably figured she'd come back when she was ready anyways, and no one else bothered to stop her. So, she simply walked north until she came to a city.

The first day in the city was amazing. Sure everyone was staring at her, and she assumed that was because she was different. But, running around the city, she got to see so many amazing places and things, and then there was the library! She only ever seen one book before, the one which a traveling merchant had used to record a trade he made with their tribe leader. That simple action had fascinated her so. And here there were as many books as the desert has rocks, though she didn't know how to read them.

But by evening, when her stomach started to rumble and she feeling rather tired, and that's when she begin realize the truth of the city. The people staring at her didn't want to have anything to do with her, they didn't trust her or liker her kind, didn't want her picking their fruit (Wait, people could own trees here?), and they were especially annoyed that she didn't have any of the things they were calling coins. She went hungry that night and slept in the alley besides the library. She wondered if she should head back to the desert and find her tribe.

But in the morning she was found by one of the librarians who invited her back inside for some tea, and asked her about what she was doing in the city. Tenna spilled the whole story of her life so far, and the librarian listened intently. She promised Tenna she'd teach her read and write, if she'd take up some chores in the building, such as dusting and sweeping. The work was tedious and didn’t pay much, but the librarian let her sleep in the building, and learning to read opened an amazing new world for Tenna. She spent many a night reading the children's books by candlelight.

By her 17th birthday, Tenna was reading fairly well, though a little slow, and started to explored the adult books the library had to offer. That was when she discovered Alchemy. This new discovery soon became her passion as she realized she had a talent for it. Soon she cold barely focus on her chores, and spent every spare second conjuring up potions and trinkets, or just daydreaming of what else the world had to offer.

The librarian could see it too, and after a short conversation and good-bye, Tenna left to become a traveling alchemist, fulling her dreams of travel and furthering her alchemy skill. Along the way she also learned better bartering skills and to defend herself against bandits. Fate has now led her to take an interest in the quest to retrieve the Black Moon.

Equipment:
- Poisoned sickle: Tenna used alchemy to make this item, encase she ever has to fight in close combat. Though she prefers explosives from a distance or set traps.
- Leather shoulder bag: For her alchemy supplies
-- Alchemy book: a basic book with alchemy instructions and few recipes, Tenna doesn't use it much anymore.
-- Bottles and jars: some empty and some with herbs, powders, and a few other small ingredients for alchemy.
-- Pepper bomb: a small explosive that releases a cloud of eye, nose, and throat irritating pepper extract.
- Bracers and Gauntlets: provides light armor for her lower arms and legs.
- Goggles: provides eye protection from harsh sunlight, and looks cool.

Abilities:
- Alchemy: Tenna can fuse two or more items to create a new item that exhibits properties of the original items.
- Genma Strength: despite her low muscle tone, Tenna is surprisingly strong, due to being part demon.
- Hover/Flitter: Tenna can become airborne only briefly, through vigorously flapping her small wings. They also allow her to jump slightly further than normal.
- Agile: Tenna's tribe is known for being somewhat agile due to their wings, and her smaller body type has only helped with that.
- Barter: Tenna is skilled in getting lower prices on things she wants, and higher prices for what she's peddling.
- Basic Survival Skills: Tenna knows how to start fires, find water, and identify edibles the native way.

One more set of questions: one, can there be an item to represent the pact between a Contractor and their demon? And second, if they try to brake the pact, or brake the pact, will the consequence be death? If not, what is the consequence? And lastly, if one would give up his soul, does that mean he loses his personality or does it mean something else? Because I can't think of what my character could give up other than that...

Edit: Okay! Done! Man, I write fast despite being long. XP Hope it's not too long.

Name: Isaac "Frozen" Trester
Gender: Male
Age: 37
Race: Halfbreed
Class: Contractor

Description: How Frozen, or Isaac, but he goes by Frozen these days, is exactly how you'd usually imagine a shady character, literally and figuratively. He has a thin frame despite being a medium build. He is also tall, standing at seven feet and three inches, much taller than a human for sure. The features on his face are rather sharp and angled, from his nose to his chin, but not to the point of looking like complete straight lines. His nose is also average length. His brown hair is bristly and usually unkempt, mostly because he sees no use in keeping it looking nice since he wears his black berét-like hat over it.

His irises are an icy cold blue, but they have a tint of yellow in it if you look carefully at his eyes, which he usually doesn't allow or do. His usually standing in a relaxed pose, with his hands in the pockets of his black trench coat. Speaking of shirts, he wears a light blue shirt under his trench coat. Along with that, he wears two mementoes from his two best friends: a black necklace with a red teardrop shaped pendent, with the words, in pink, Alishya. While the other is on his left wrist, which is a strange grey bracelet made of metal.

He wears the typical medieval tousers, with the bagginess and such, but it reaches the middle point between the ankle and the knee. The trousers in question are colored light purple. But with all these features, it's sometimes surprising about the fact that he's a halfbreed. More specifically a lizard halfbreed. While his face is relatively the same as any other human face in terms of shape, his skin (on his whole body, face included) is actually scales and not skin, hence why his skin has a yellow tint to it (another reason why he wears the coat). But the scales are small, making it hard to see if it's scales or brown-yellow skin.

His hands has small and rather dull (dull as in sharpness dull, not voring dull) claws on the tips of his fingers, another thing to show he's a halfbreed. Over his hands are brown leather gloves. The gloves, however, are worn out and thus look more like the modern-day fingerless glove, just very beat up. As for footwear, he doesn't have any, finding them uncomfortable and rather useless when going out exploring. As for his actual feet, they're like most people, except, instead of nails there are short claws, which are sharper than his hand claws.

Finally, on his head, protruding fron the sides of it and through his hair, are two yellow-ish horns, making him look devilish, literally. Add his brown tail, about two feet in length, and you can see why his usual expression is either a mischievous one, or a frowning one. Why? Because he's a halfbreed (obviously).

Personality: Upon first seeing him, any will notice he has a strong but damaged aura, as in, you feel like a weight's been put on your shoulders. Or, if not, you'll notice his eyes staring into yours for a few seconds before turning away, usually with a somber frown, but sometimes with a malevolent smile. Both usually send chills through people he looks at. The fact he does this makes him come off as someone who wants to be dominant, or is very analytic, which is true. However, he will not push for leadership if there's already an established leader, in which case he would just listen carefully to what he or she says and acts accordingly, like not do it if the order's idiotic, and so on.

Another thing to note is that, as courteous as he is with everyone, people included, he doesn't get attached to anyone, especially dignitaries. If you happen to be a politition or a dignitary, you'll find him very courteous, but his malicious smile is all the more malevolent. Anyone else will find him either like what we would call the popular kid in school, or the antisocial one, but that usually depends on his first impressions. But even that can change, if you manage to convince him otherwise that is.

When he's like in the popular school kid mood, he's a bit of a flirter, saying things to girls and sometimes boys, the latter mostly out of teasing. Speaking of teasing, he makes a lot of jokes, although all of them might not be successful, and, as stated, teases a lot too, liking to see people's reactions. He's also more lax in whatever he says, as in, he says things that don't really sound medieval, like "dude." But he uses that word seldomly, even when he's in that mood.

When he's like the antisocial kid, he just sticks to the sidelines, with his face in a frown, or a somber one, staring at people. He will politely answer questions, and do small requests, but not without an icy tone to his voice and a piercing stare, clearly stating he finds it pointless. You can also try having a conversation, but you won't get much on his personal life, especially on why he wears a girly pendant and a weird bracelet. He'll also, under normal circumstances, will only answer shortly and punctually, making conversations end very quickly.

No matter the mood though, he's really just analysing you, so that he'll know as many weaknesses of you if you ever turn on him or attack him under the control of someone else. This analysis just shows how much he really distrusts others, no matter how convincing you are, even though you might not be faking it. But besides that, he's also smart, knowing rather advance calculations and information, like how the rare guns work, and the fact that he's memorized the typical behavior of animals and races. With that knowledge, he's gotten a bit of an ego on how much he knows, but he controls it for the most part.

But under all these façades, he's just a very guilt ridden and devastated halfbreed. He really just wants to die, but his primordial fears stop him from killing himself through the typical ways. And it's because of this guilt, he tries not to let anyone get too close to him, in fear of their safety, as he's actually very kind on the inside. But it's been years since he's shown his kind, sympathetic, caring, and true self to anyone. But he has a soft spot for young and bullied girls, as well as automatons, which is the only time he lets his cover slip a little So he's really just a seriously sad halfbreed.

Background: Frozen, or as he was first named, Isaac, was born in a town that somehow formed without a Noble Family running it called Avora. The town was near a desert, and thus how his mother met his father. Anyways, as Frozen grew, he was cared for by his parents, a human mother and a pygmy thorned lizard beastman. Through both parents, he was taught to be kind and symlathetic to others, as well as how to survive in a desert if was ever lost in it.

He first thought that everyone else was going to be like him and his parents, nice and loving, but was surprised to find everyone seemed to feel awkward around him, especially the adults. That's when he found out that everyone didn't think the same and so was dissapointed, he wasn't that much different from others, was he? Well, at first, every time he was teased or bullied, he just accepted it sadly. Until one day someone stood for him when he was being bullied.

It was a girl, but even more surprising for him, a human girl. He was enamoured and confused at first, wondering why she was standing up for him. And then an automaton came next and broke up the congression before a fight could start. When the girl and automata offered their hands to help him stand, he realized they were the newly moved in residents of Avora, Alishya and her guardian automata, Haywire.

After speaking with them, he eventually became their best friends and his as well. He also learned that there are people like him, but that doesn't mean he shouldn't defend himself. So after that, he had his dad teach him what he knew on fighting. Although not a great warrior, his father taught him how to at least survive a fight. He also became more confident of himself and his ideals, and eventually the bullying stopped, but not the teasing and the stares of disgust. At first, he didn't mind the reactions of hin being a halfbreed, but as he got higher positions, more specifically, being apponited as head of learning since the Village Leader found he was smart, the teasing became complaints.

As a young adult, and a sort of council member, he had to bear the complaints since he was supposed to do that. He seemed fine, Alishya and Haywire were comforting him, as well as some of the council members, even with his parents dead.

But one day...he just snapped.

A person insulted as usual, but then he went and insulted his friends, being companions with a freak of nature. That triggered something deep within him, and then he lashed out on the person. Unable to control himself, he ended up destroying the entire town. After that, he collapsed from exhaustion. When he woke up, he was shocked to find the town in ruins. He became more crushed as he looked at all the dead bodies, but froze when he reached the other edge of town.

Lying on the dirt were two more bodies. The bodies of Alishya and Haywire.

Completely crushed, he roared in agony before giving a proper burial to his two friends and took a part of Haywire and Alishya's necklace. Then he went to kill himself, finding no reason to live. The first attemlt didn't work, wuth his survival skills and fear getting him out of it. He tried several more times, and still didn't work. Then he decided to do something drastic. He remembered something about making pacts with devils and so did just that, hoping to give up his soul. He went to a forest, particularly a cursed one. There, he hoped to find a demon to make a pact with. At first, he was met with resistance from various monsters. It was difficult, but he managed to kill each of them by using the enviroment and his knowledge on their weaknesses. But he was injured and still no demon.

Seeing as this place had various monsters, he decided to kill himself then and there until something showed itself to him. It looked more like a red, ghost gargoyle and looked at him with a neutral look.

It asked, "What are you doing here, human?"

Frozen frowned, but answered anyway. "Looking for a demon," he said with an icy tone.

The creature blinked. "Well you have found one. Why do you wish to meet one?"

Frozen blinked. Somewhat surprised on how the creature was acting but kept up his stern face as he answered, "To give up my soul for a pact."

Although the demon visibly show it, he was surprised that the human would give up something even more precious than a body part or body sense. So he said, "Well I may grant it now, if you wish."

And so, after some chants and..stuff...Frozen couldn't remember strangely, but he didn't care, mostly because he calculated that the mistake could be lethal, still leading to him getting killed. It didn't go like he thought, instead he ended very weak to holy magic (which was okay, seeing that means he'll die quicker if hit by such) and so he wandered aimlessly, hoping there's a monster out there strong enough to kill him. As the years went on, he lost hope in his death until he heard that a Noble family was hiring people to bring back a legendary Artifact. Calculating the risks, he found that there was a higher chance of him being killed looking for it than just wandering, and quicker, and so here he is now, waiting at the gates of the family's mansion.

Equipment:
-Dagger: a small dagger with a simple, black, wooden handle with the word, "Geriro" on it, his father's name.

-Alishya's Necklace: A simple necklace with black string and a red pendent with the name "Alishya" inside it.

-Haywire's Brace: Originally part of Haywire's body to keep his guantlets fron slipping, the bracelet has no real use. But it can be used as a container since it's hollow.

-Protoplasm Vial: A vial with brass covers at the top and bottom, inside it is a red glowing liquid. It is the dwelling place of his devil, Garuyel.

Abilities:
-Strength: Though not quite as strong as say a gorilla, he is stronger than a fit and trained human, owing to his father.

-Agility: Because he's skinny, as well as being part lizard, he is fast, but not as fast as an antelope. Not only that, he has good stamina, which make up for his not-superspeed.

-Berserk: Or as he calls it, Rage Mode. Although he's not a shifter, his father was so he's gotten a little bit of it. When he's in this state, he can barely control himself and is very destructive. He doesn't actually get stronger, but since he becomes more reckless, it's almost like he's gotten stronger. He only goes into this state when enraged, extrenely saddened, or in life threatening danger, the former two, under nornal circumstances, only happens 5% of the time. Because he attacks more often, he gets drained and collapses afterward.

-Quick Thinking: He can do a quick analysis of an enemy and usually knows a way to kill it, or at least weaken it.

-Desert Survival: He knows how to survive in a desert and thus isn't affected much by the desert.

-Cold Blooded: Although not really cold blooded, he hates anything colder than the usual temperature of winter, and is not affected much by heat.

-Devil Summon: When he calls upon Garuyel, Garuyel comes out and becomes his figurative shadow, which allows Frozen to:
  1. Fly in the air up to twenty feet by Garuyel carrying him
  2. Have Garuyel shoot fireballs
  3. Make his own fireballs
  4. Use Garuyel as a substitute and a shield (usually a shield)
  5. Have even more strength when Garuyel goes in his body (which he usual doesn't do, but might do it when Berserk)

Companion(s):
Garuyel: A demon that has sworn loyalty to Frozen, Garuyel looks more like a gargoyle than a devil, with his beast head, but is still recognizable as one with his red skin and arrow tail. His body is more inclined to a spirit's than a demon, since you can see through him and he can act like a shadow (a red one though). He has yellow irises, black pupils, and white sclera. Garuyel is rather fascinated with Frozen on the fact that he wishes death instead of life.

VampirateMace: Awesome character. Approved!

TheCharredDragon: Dang, that's dark. Your character is fine, but I see you haven't determined what Isaac gave up to enter a pact with his demon. The kind of thing one would give up would be along the lines of:

-- An important body part (e.g. left arm, right leg, tongue)
-- One of the major senses (e.g. sight, hearing)

The soul is also a fitting sacrifice, but the idea is that whatever you gave up entails a disadvantage for the character, so if you choose to make Isaac soulless let's say that that makes him mortally weak to holy magic, just like a genma or a vampire. Is that cool with you?

Once you do choose what Isaac sacrificed I'd like you to edit in a little more info about how Isaac met Garuyel and how the pact-making process went down. Once you do that you're in.

Indigo IV

Shadowcaster
I plan on signing up as an Elf Sorcerer, but I have some questions about arcane magic. Would a spell that binds enemies in place or spell that turns an enemy to stone be considered offensive? Also, would a spell that has a damaging side effect be considered offensive in nature? I plan on having my character having spells that lead to some creative uses to avoid him being useless on the battlefield. He'll be more of a battlefield controller.

Okay! The changes are made and I hope it's okay now. But uh... I only asked that question because he might change his mind during the RP, he didn't actually break the pact, yet.

Crash & Charm: Much better now! Approved. Thank you for making the changes.

Indigo IV: A binding spell is fine. I'll let a petrification spell pass, but since it's quite powerful it would need to take a toll on the caster, or have some other kind of offset. If you're fine with that, go ahead. As for "damaging side-effects," it really depends on what you mean. A spell that blinds a foe, which leads them to fall and hurt themselves, would not be considered offensive. A spell that plants a bomb on a foe, which detonates if they move, would be.

Minteh: Of course. Reserved.

TheCharredDragon: Ah, it's much better now. I understand that your character hasn't broken his pact with the demon, I just didn't know what he had given up to enter the contract in the first place. But it's all cleared up now. Approved.

Oooooh, this looks very fun.

Name: Argus Benjamin Corsyfine VI (Goes simply by “Ben,” in an effort to conceal his family name)
Gender: Male
Age: 22
Race: Human
Class: Vagrant
Description:
Standing at 5’11” and possessing a heavily cultivated, muscular physique, Ben has an impressive and imposing stature. Physical training has been a top priority for Ben since his childhood, and his regimen has been calibrated over the years so as to provide him with a physique that stresses lean muscularity over maximum muscle mass and strength—a fact indicative of the superficiality and vanity that characterizes many of Ben’s pursuits. His skin is lightly tanned from his years of traveling. Ben’s face is most easily described in terms of its hard lines. He has a square jaw, prominent cheekbones, thin lips that seem constantly fixed in a small smirk, and downward-sloping eyebrows that betray his thoughts and feelings more than any other feature of his face. His eyes are medium sized and narrow, but very striking. They are a deep brown in color, with flecks of green that are visible only if one studies them carefully. The one feature of his face about which Ben is self-conscious is his large, very prominent nose—a family joke, being that all of the men in his line seem to be born with the “Cornsyfine Nose.” Ben keeps his light-brown hair short and well kept, ensuring that it is always clean and combing it back and to the right every morning so that it is out of his face.

As far as clothing, Ben tends to dress ostentatiously. He owns an extensive wardrobe containing fine, expensive clothes, usually in bright colors—his favorites being reds and blues. Ben has paid to have his clothes altered by physical or magical means to provide protective benefits, but the armor is necessarily quite limited. Outfits usually consist of a tight-fitting, brightly-colored, buttoned shirt and some sort of fitted coat in neutral colors. Weather insisting, he may elect to wear a scarf and (at the opposite end of the weather spectrum) he is certainly never afraid to wear only his undershirt or no shirt at all. He generally wears loose-fitting trousers in neutral tones of grey, black, blue or brown, allowing him to move freely. For shoes, he generally chooses lightweight combat boots in black or brown.

Personality:
Ben is, by all accounts, a product of his aristocratic upbringing. He is well-versed in matters of gentility and decorum, and is quite unabashed in flaunting his charm. In fact, Ben is quite unabashed in all that he does. He is driven most principally by a resounding sense of vanity verging on hubris. To Ben, he is the single most attractive, intelligent and talented individual in Refia. Many have conjectured that there is some element of superficiality to his pride and confidence, and that, in the end, it is a defense mechanism, a compensation for some deeper self-consciousness or doubt. This analysis, while plausible, gives too much credit to Ben. In reality, it is just a matter of Ben’s simplicity of being—he is (or so he conceives it) as he chooses to be, and, therefore, he has the most potential for cultivation because he believe fully in his unique superiority.

This confidence, mixed with his heavily cultivated charm and skill of tongue, causes Ben to feel very comfortable being placed (or placing himself) into positions of leadership. The difficulty in this is that validation of his pride by other people only worsens Ben’s sense that he ought to reflect on plans before their execution. Already a person driven by his intuitions and convictions, Ben becomes more impulsive and more hubristic the more he is positively reinforced. It is not that Ben is stupid—he is fairly intelligent naturally and has had the benefit of a private education—but he is too lazy to actually use his higher functions when he feels the urge to follow his instinctive inclinations.

As far as interactions with others, Ben makes decisions quickly about whether or not he trusts a person: If you are a man, you are trustworthy if you trust Ben. If you challenge Ben, you are deemed immediately incompetent and untrustworthy. If you are a woman, you are trustworthy so long as you pay him attention. Ben has a particular weakness for women, often being distracted by his feelings of attraction. He is romantic only in that he has learned the “old ways” of wooing a woman. His flirtations and gestures of chivalry are almost all superficial. In most cases, he comes off, upon a deeper inspection, as a bit of a misogynist—a reflection of the aristocratic values from which his social education was based.

Background:
Born Argus Benjamin Corsyfine VI, Ben is a descendent of a wealthy trading family from the coastal regions of Refia. While not one of the sixteen Noble Families, the House of Corsyfine is very well known in the coastal kingdoms, and the name often has been heard in more distant parts of Refia. Through the centuries, the Corsyfines have grown in prominence and wealth by way of creating trade networks with the kingdoms and families that rise and fall in Refia. Despite frequent warring among families, the Corsyfines have managed to remain largely untouched by the ebb and flow of familial power. This strategy has come to be exemplified by the family seal: “Commerce is always the winning side.”

The Corsyfines, as they grew in prosperity and notoriety, split into multiple families distinguished by the first name given to the male heirs of the Corsyfine line. The Argus Corsyfines, being a fairly new line that exists in the more peripheral regions of the Corsyfine sphere of influence, have a reputation for constant tension between the highly opinionated elder generations and the wilder nature of the younger Corsyfines, who are more exposed to the world outside of their opulent homes. Argus Benjamin VI lived a similarly sheltered life, training in swordplay, magic and marksmanship as well as in the social graces of aristocracy, such as playing the lyre and dancing. This social and practical training came too with a thorough education (most of which was wasted on Benjamin) in business, arithmetic, language and history. Benjamin became especially taken with the history of his family when he learned that the first Argus Corsyfine was also a “Benjamin.” Some believe that this bit of trivia was the initial spark that gave rise to Benjamin’s all-consuming sense of destined superiority.

Benjamin (or “Six,” as he was sometimes called), as he grew, tended to follow in the footsteps of the Argus youths before him, taking to drinking and carousing as fervently as he took to his studies and his own missions of constant self-improvement. Convinced always by his own self-righteousness, Benjamin became less and less concerned with the opinions of his parents, Argus Nathaniel Corsyfine III and Marilyn Corsyfine, as his capacity for independence increased. Having had little meaningful interaction with his parents throughout his childhood (largely out of his own self-obsession, but also due to the demanding nature of Nathaniel’s work in maintaining trade connections in the region), Benjamin was hardly crushed when the pair died unexpectedly at sea during a trade mission to an island kingdom off the coast. Instead of being a setback, this event made Benjamin feel liberated. He focused even more diligently on his own cultivation and also on his personal vices, developing a strong taste for the company of women and loud friends.

Upon turning 21 years of age, Benjamin, Nathanial’s only male heir—as was custom—was expected to take up the work that his father had left for him. Instead, he chose to steal away with a group of enterprising adventurers on the night of his birthday. He took with him an enchanted bag filled with clothes, the sword with which he had trained since adolescence, and a store of coins amounting to a modest fortune. After leaving quietly in the night, he dropped the ornamentation on his name, adopting a simple “Ben” as his moniker, and vowed to escape the simple, restrictive life of his family.

After traveling for some months with the adventurers (whose names ad faces Ben soon forgot) and distancing himself from his past life with every day (although failing to recognize the irony of the fact that he unabashedly carried with him the money and clothes that distinguished him as of noble descent), Ben finally decided to seek a new course of adventure. Hearing of the call for a party to locate and retrieve the Black Moon, and judging it a quest worthy of his talent and time, Ben set out to seek a place in that great adventure.

-Andul, a one-handed sword crafted in the Argus Corsyfine Forge. It bears a discreet Corsyfine Crest on the hilt.
-A small, brown leather pouch, enchanted (for a price, of course) to be much larger on the inside than the outside. Ben used this bag to allow him to carry his treasures with him without giving away his material wealth.
-Several fine outfits imbued with very light (but expensive) protective magic
-A simple blue-gray lyre
-A small, Corsyfine-Forged dagger. Ben keeps this in a scabbard on his belt in case he ever loses Andul during a fight.

Abilities:
Arms Training: Ben is fairly proficient in the use of most melee weapons, although he only has particularly developed skill with one-handed shortswords like Andul.
Marksmanship: Ben has learned how to properly aim and fire a bow and a gun, although he owns neither and does not have particularly good aim.
Weak Elemental Magic: Ben learned basic offensive elemental spells, including the ability to throw spears of ice and fireballs, during his training as a youth. However, his teachers found that casting even the most basic spells deeply exhausted Ben, and this led to Ben’s eventual fear of magic us. Ben is also extremely weak to magic used against him.
Athleticism: As a result of his fastidious physical conditioning, Ben has above average athletic abilities. This is nothing supernatural, however. He is just a tall, fast, strong, and fairly flexible man, and this works to his advantage.
Lyre Playing: Ben is trained in playing the musical instrument, which he mostly does for the express purpose of showing off.

Philosopher Knight
Name: Diego Vendrix

Gender: Male

Age: 21

Race: Human

Class: Monk

Description:

Diego stands at five foot, 11 inches. He has a rather soft and mildy round face that despite his harsh training, retains a boyish charm to it. His dark brown hair (almost black actually) has a mildly grown style to it. He has chocolate brown eyes that tend to turn gold during tense moments. They are also very expressive and those that know him can look into them to see how he is feeling. He is a stocky and well-built (but not overtly muscular) young man with light olive skin. He has a monk tattoo on the left side of the chest.

Instead of glasses, Diego wears gold-colored goggles. Beyond serving as corrective lenses, the goggles are enchanted to help detect magical anomalies. He wears mainly a sleeveless monk shirt along with twelve prayer beads around his neck. He also wears the matching monk trousers with underwear underneath and wraps along with sandals. To help keep himself protected from the harsher aspects of the elements, he has gotten himself a cloak from a mage. Beyond providing warmth and protection from participation, they also have some pockets where he can keep whatever he needs in it. Lastly, he wears special leather gloves that not only protects his hands, but also allows him to easier cause his chi to flow into his hands.

Personality:
Diego is a warm and emotional person with an occasion fiery temper and an adventurous spirit. He is very empathetic and has a great desire to help people out. Beneath this outgoing facade, Diego is a shy and quiet person. He is also a very artistic individual as he will often draw whenever he gets the chance to do so. He is very loyal, but can come on as clingy, especially around girls. He also likes to cook. When in serious situations, he knows it is time for him to use his intelligence and strengths at their full capacity. He is very creative and known to be devious for his ideas. He is regarded as being very smart in many aspects. Highly intelligent, he has gathered a wide variety of knowledge, from the practical to the esoteric, to the common to the obscure and the normal to the arcane and mytical. He is also close to his companion, Taiyō the phoenix.

He has his faults, however. Some of these are being blunt, sarcastic, laziness and often day-dreaming during certain moments and saying a weird comment afterward. Beyond that, he also has moments of self-righteousness, showing frustrated toward some of the less-than-savory characters, but holds his tongue when he needs to. He is prone to snarky or blunt comments and is often unable to figure out what to do in situations with people so will often mess things up, though he means no harm. More so, he seems to have a dark side, appearing only in his nightmares. Despite this or because of it, he tries to overcome these traits to become a better person.

Background:
Diego was found nearby a monastary by some monks when he was just a baby. The monks were quite curious about young Diego. He was not of the region based on the appearance. In fact, Diego resembled a mildly pale inhabitant of the Atzlan region. A powerful and wealthy tribal theocratic kingdom found in the tropical jungles, they were people who worshipped the suns and were surprsingly adapt at constructing stone pyramids as well as being masters of measuring time and studying the stars. Despite not being from around the area, the monks and the nuns took the baby in and raised him as if one of their own.

An intelligent, but energetic and curious child, Diego was fascinated by the various philosophies martial arts and mysticism of the temple he grew up in. He spent most of his early childhood in the temple, going outside of the temple grounds to run some errands every now and then. His youth was filled with learning about the mysterious of life while learning basic survival techniques, includng basic fighting and so much more. His curiousity was instiable however and when he was of age, he was permitted to go to the school of the local town. Beyond his exposure to various people from different regions and lands, he learned how to better communicate with people while also observing the various people with skills. Beyond learning the basics over at school, Diego would read about magic. While he didn't show interest in practicing it, he was fascinated about it nonetheless. However, there were downsides. Beyond the usual problems of communicating with students his age at times, there were the problems of bandits going into town. When the school was ransacked and was only stopped by a former solider, Diego approached the mons and desired to enter their warrior program. They found his reason just and pure and so he entered a rigid program to train his mind, body and spirit. Over the years, he showed great promise. He was able to help defend his school with ease and each teach the basics to some good-hearted students. Eventually, he desired to explore the world and see what the winds of change awaited for him. Granted several clothes along with his prayer beads, Diego set out to find his destiny at 15.

Over the years, Diego talked to various people and learned about many things by talking to sorcerers, shamans and so many more individuals. Having traveled across various lands and helping many people, he gainae d abit of a reputation. At 18, he entered his first fighting tournament, with one of the prizes being a set of enchanted goggles. Desiring to test his progress, he entered and did fairly well, making it to the semifinals. However, when he observed the simple yet powerful foreign fighting style of his western opponent, he decides to fight against a fellow fighter of the style before the day of the match. Despite his prowess, he lost fairly easily. He learned that despite the legeance and power of his martial arts, many styles of it are vulnerable to those with a few years experience of pugilist fighting and wrestling. Taking this to heart, he changed up his style in time to win the match, but exchanged the prize money for lessons in the punching style as well as wrestling to cover greater bases. He kept the goggles for himself and found he was able to use it instead of the spectacles he needed since boyhood. Since then, he developed and modified his style with what he learned.

At 19, he became one of the youngest monks who awakened their qi. After a week of solid meditation, he opened his eyes and he found himself able to sustain himself solely through his chi. He then recalled the teachings of his various mentors and developed his various qi skills such as fighting long distance through energy attacks as well as healing people. After one of the missionaries of his monastary saw his accomplishments, he contacted the elders and they congratulated Diego for his efforts and achievements. He was given two gifts. The first were special glvoes that would allow him to channel his qi and protect his hands whenever he fought. The second was the bird that carried package in the first place. It was no normal bird, it was a phoenix. Honored by this, Diego accepted Taiyō as his companion and the two continued to travel the world and help people.

Recently, he learned that a party was being formed to search for an artifact known as the Black Moon. While he has little interest in money, he found the opportunity to become friends with new people as well as explroe the World's Edge a potential enlightening experience. Furthermore, he knew that if this Black Moon was dangerous, he needed to make sure it did not fall into the wrong hands.

Equipment:
- Magic-Resistant Battle Gloves: Allows him to flow chi easier and protect his hands as well as assist in blocking magic attakcs that may come his way.
- Enchanted Goggles: Corrects sight as well as enhance it. Also able to detect magical anomalies.

Abilities:
- Basic Survival Skills: Tenna knows how to start fires, find water, and identify edibles the native way.
- Martial Arts: An advanced user of martial arts, he can fight many opponents in close combats and knows how to close the distance.
- Qi Manipulation: Through mediation and spirituality, he has trained himself to manifest his qi. He can use it to detect the presence of his foes or types of magic around. He can also augment himself, allow him to perform energy attacks. He can even heal his comrades. However, this healing power can only be done through direct contact and it's a gradual process.
- Stave-Fighting: Besides fighting with his bare hands, Diego knows how to use a staff to fight. Because of emergances, he does carry a staff with him.

Companion(s): Taiyō the Phoenix. Brave, compassionate and wise, Taiyō is a relatively young phoenix. Beyond this, he can be mildly mischievous as he likes tyring to set Diego up with other girls. Nonetheless, he is still a noble bird who follows his companion to do what is right. Like all phoenixes, he can heal and resurrect himself by fire, can produce healing tears, possess the famous phoenix song and is capable of lifting a good deal of weight. Taiyō is still kinda young so he can't carry Diego for more than a few minutes, but nonetheless, he is still very loyal and a powerful ally.

Could I reserve an Automaton? Should be able to get someone up on the weekend.

BenBot2500: I love this sign-up and this character. That's also pretty much how I envisioned the Vagrant class to a tee. Approved.

Titan500: Reserved.

Andydemon: Yeah, I don't see a problem with that. You're reserved! You posted at the same time as me so I didn't see this at first, but don't worry about it.

Okay, at this point I think we have a good number of sign-ups. From this point on, anyone who wants to sign up (and doesn't already have a reservation or WIP in place) will be considered an LSU. That means that you will still be able to have your character approved, but you will enter a queue and will have to wait for a certain point in the RPG where your character can be introduced. Which is to say, you won't be able to start playing right off the bat.

For a list of people with reservations or WIPs in place, check the first post.

The Admiral

the star of the masquerade
My internet connection ate it yesterday and I won't be able to get my sign-up up until probably at least Friday, just so you know. Sorry this is taking forever.

edit: You can, however, put down his name as Rutger Mulder.

Shampoo Thief: lol yes, I was about to say you may want to consider a class or at least race change since we already have a human rogue. You're reserved. You'll enter the queue.

Dang you started doing LSUs already, but not quite ready to start. Well, gives me time to work on my character and post for Shadow Club. I hope it won't be too long.

My WIP. I'm remaking the tektek and will update accordingly.

Name: Karai "Kar" Horoshi
Gender: Female
Age: 21 and a half
Race: Halfbreed (Human Man + Feline Beastwoman)
Class: Beastmaster Summoner
Description: (standard clothing) (colder climate)

She has a small nose, high cheekbones, and pretty lips that you just want to kiss and never stop kissing. Her black hair is long down to her hips, a little puffy due to hairstyle, and has wispy bangs that hang low enough to barely cover her eyebrows. The bangs and hair wave when she walks. She doesn't have ears like humans, and hers are on top of her head like pointed triangles. In the back they have black fur like her hair, and in the front they're the same color as her skin. She is very top heavy with a chest somewhere between a 38 DD and DDD. Her chest moves or jiggles at pretty much any movement. She has a sort of thin waist and wide hips. She has the average amount of muscle on her body, and just seems to not need to do much to stay in shape. She's basically very lean and curvy in all the right places.

Around her neck she wars a black necklace choker with a silver locket that has a painting of her father, so she can keep him close at all times. She wears a bikini top and tiny bottom as regular clothes. Of course the bikini bottom covers her behind, although not by much. The bikini top is metallic silver colored, while the bottom is a dark red fabric. She likes to wear black high gloves that go up to nearly her shoulders. The gloves have metallic gold plated claws on the fingers, which complement her real claws. The claw gloves aren't a weapon, more like an accessory. The fake claws can be removed if she wants to. She also wears black high boots with metallic gold plating around the soles.

When in a place where it would be too cold to wear her revealing outfit, she squeezes into a warm black skintight one piece suit that keeps her warm while still being able to expose her cleavage if she wants to. The zipper is on the front. The long gloves are switched for an insulated pair of long black gloves. She changes the high boots to a similar pair of insulated black boots. The cold weather gloves and boots look pretty similar to the warm weather versions.

She has a long fluffy tail with black fur (Ignore the color and extreme length of the tail in tektek) coming out through a hole in whatever she wears on her lower body at the time, down to about her ankles. She can move it like a limb to wrap around things if needed. It also helps with balance.
Personality: She is easy going and friendly, but only when somebody else approaches her first and gives her a chance to open up. Otherwise she's usually shy. She usually has trouble understanding other people's humor, but tries to make her own and usually fails at being funny. It takes a lot to scare her, which leads her to do things that other people would generally call crazy. Karai is friendly/nice to others, but can turn aggressive when insulted. She dislikes stupidity. Of course what constitutes 'stupid' is open to interpretation, but doing obviously stupid things will make her dislike you. There's a difference between being funny and just acting stupid.

She doesn't like those in authority roles, and generally doesn't like being given orders or commands. She is prone to unrehearsed sarcasm. (Read: My posts can have sarcasm in them without me knowing or intending it.) She is also prone to complaining or otherwise looking for somebody to vent/rant to on topics of interest or comment on whatever is being discussed at the moment. To friends, she is nice and kind. She enjoys helping others, and is proportionately upset when finding out somebody else was hurt by her actions (either emotionally or physically). Key word: Finding out. This means that if you're hiding your feelings, don't expect any sympathy. She's not a great judge of character, but can be encouraging and positive. Karai has very strong opinions and generally regards them as facts, so she tends to have a comment on anything she overhears and feels compelled to comment on.

Not sure if this is a necessarily a personality trait, but she has Asperger's Syndrome and ADHD (like me). This will be RPed out as well as possible, and if you write your emotions out as very visible it shouldn't be a problem. The ADHD just means she gets bored easily and can't pay attention for very long. The only exception is things she actually enjoys, in which case she can do them for many hours on end. She does get bored of everything eventually, though. Like anybody, really.
Background: Karai was born to a beastwoman who fell in love with a human man. The couple lived in the country ruled by the Atma family. Karai grew up going to school and the usual things required before adulthood.

In her early teenage years she figured out that she was able to get along better with monsters than people. Her mother called it a gift, but it could also be considered a curse since she was always getting into trouble in the neighboring forests while out with her monster friends. She would come home a bit dirty or scratched from such excursions with her clothes ripped. Karai got used to that, and since her clothes would get ripped on a regular basis anyway she decided to just wear few to begin with. Except when it was cold of course, then she stayed home anyway.

One day her house was attacked by a ferocious giant wolf. The wolf was hurt and lost, but in a blind rage her father was killed trying to protect his family. Karai was extremely sad, but grabbing a stick from the ground she started to wave it at the wolf. Normally this would be useless, but she had unknowingly unlocked her magic and tamed the weakened wolf. Sally decided to stay by her side and was extremely sorry for killing Karai's father. Since then they've been inseparable and Sally has been helping her and her mother take care of chores in the house.

After finishing school, Karai got some formal training in working with monsters and started to be kind of proficient at it. Not necessarily a master, but good enough to be considered capable of taking on jobs. And it just so happened that the Atma family had one such job for a group of adventurers.
Equipment:
- Beast Baton: This sturdy metal conductor's baton allows Karai to cast her Beastmaster magic. Depending on how the baton is waved, different magic and commands will be cast.
- Refia Map: As it sounds, she has a map of the continent, though it might be a bit outdated.
- Over the shoulder bag: Bag to carry her change of clothes and other equipment.
Abilities:
Regular skills
- Basic Survival Skills: Knows how to survive for a while in the wilderness. Pitching a tent if materials are available, making fires, being able to tell what berries or herbs can be eaten, and so on.
- Halfbreed Nature: Being part feline, Karai has higher agility and strength than the average humanoid. She can climb trees/walls with her claws and is faster than most animals. She also has an animal's tracking sense and can see better/further than humans.
- Basic magic: Weak versions of elemental spells (Fire, Water, Ice, Thunder, Quake). Not quite as potent as the magic known by actual spellcasters, but enough so she's not defenseless while her monsters do all the work.

Class skills
- Tame Monster: Attempts to tame a monster.
- Release Monster: Releases the named monster and sends it back to the place where it was originally captured
- Summon Monster: Summons a tamed monster from storage.
- Switch Monster: Switches one summoned monster for another one, but can't be used in quick succession.
- Monster Commands: Such things like Attack, Defense, Assist Ally, Protect Ally, Taunt Enemy/Enemies, and anything I forget that might be added here.
- Heal Monster: Heals chosen tamed monster for some of it's health and/or rids it of it's ailments. Amount determined by GM.
- Revive Monster: Revives a killed tamed monster.
Companion(s): Gigantic wolf named Sally who only Karai can understand. The two can be seen talking, but she talks back in grunts and roars. As the oldest and first of Karai's tamed beasts, she is very protective and will often act defensively without being given a command.
