Snakes are cool!
V.Nice LF Some of that stuff I didn't no about, I'd post mine but it not ready

Well here the unconfirmed start to the games
The player awaken from there bed, they walk down stairs when their mother alert them to the alarming news report that there has been a explosion in Sycamore Town concerning the evil organization Team Sub-Zero. The player then rushes to Scymore town where he/she is told be a tatty looking un-named proffesor by the ruins of her lab that a team Sub-Zero goon has made of with a pokemon she was doing experimants on.
She then allows the player to pick a starter. The player then runs off after the grunt. When the player catches them, they challenge them to a battle with the grunt using the starter strong to yours. After the battle the player is returned to a the proffesor house were she awards them the starter the picked for there courage. And the adventure begins

* The proffesor lab is rebuilt afer the player have 4 gym badges

Sounds good. Much better than Platinum, that one sucked. :) But yeah sounds good.

So I venerate the land of Kertonmel fairly often, but... what is it like?

Well, Kertonmel is a Mongolian region in its South Eastern most portions, bordering China at both the south and west ends. There is little water, there is no ocean at all. Surf could still have its uses though, especially as an attack move still.

Kertonmel, being somewhat consumed by portions of the Gobi, tends to be a bit arid and dry. There is a forested region by the southern end, but much of eastern Kertonmel is dry sand. The Western, grassier portions contain most of the major towns and cities.

Lipii is where Professor Jason Shcrum lives. He is your typical Professor who hands out Corvoldens, Fiyrants or Liqwierds to new trainers. He is the regional Pokemon Prof, but he has a dark, semi-secret loathing for the other starting master: Wilbur Brenetmos, a biochemist who in his free time does a bi-anual starting trend with Pokemon, his preference is Japanese starters, those he feels would handle the climate.

Brenetmos lives in a southern town of Hapsburg near the Listerin River that keeps the region more habitable.

Between these towns is a large city with a sewage system said to be haunted, and definitely filled with slimy Pokemon... it tends to be faster travel for the trainer on the go as well, not that bathing is a commonly available task for busy travellers.

West of this stretch is the gorge, a canyon believed to be caused by ancient disasters or epic battles. Scavengers like Revulture await foolish travelers to get lost or make a wrong step and fall far.

Strangely, many gym leaders are stationed in the eastern, mostly desert portion, and most of the interesting things are there too.

An abandoned rock formation that is believed to have been run dry of fossils is said to be haunted by the spirits of these primitive Pokemon that lived millions upon millions of years ago is at the very border of this desert.

And then there's the desert itself.... but that's another story.

Uhm dilasc, do you mean you're region is in mongolia? or based on a place in mongolia? cos no game has been set in our world yet, and i doubt that'll start.

TT + Dilasc: Both your regions sound exciting to say the least, I was especially intrigued by your haunted rock formation thingy, Dilasc.

ChaRichard: Most Pokemon regions are based on real Japanese regions (Kanto is actually a real place in Japan) and the games are set in an alternate reality of our world; Lt. Surge is American and Xatu's entries mention South America to name some of the evidence.

Nice gym roster, but some more info on the fakemon (like types and the like) would help us reviewers give more meaningful advice.

Edit: Dilasc's fossil mountain thing has spurred me to write up the dex info for one of my fossil chains. This is actually the third Aerodactyl-esque fossil of the region, the other two being invented by my partner - Team_Magma93.

The first stage of this two-Pokemon line can be obtained by giving the Black Fang to Professor Alder. Professor Alder is the Cuaro Region's main professor (in that he gives out starter Pokemon, etc.) but he is also an expert on ancient Pokemon and his de-fossilisation technique surpasses that of the research scientists in other regions so much that he is even able to fully liberate ancient Pokemon of the rock they are fissilised in, thus restoring them to their original typing and removing the Rock element.

@Tyranitaur trainer: Watch out when posting those large pictures. It stretches your post awkwardly. Nice work on the sprites, though.

@ChaRichard: Puns are Welnown to you, huh?

@JammyU: Well Poison/Dark would be most appropriate, given its hunting tactics. Could possibly be part-Fight. Or go with Normal/Poison... that's a bit of a stretch, though. And the obvious choice for the second evo is Tarfang. Or Tigtar, but that sounds like a first-evo to me. Whatever you like.

Some nice regions popping up. I'd review, but my connection's a bit unreliable right now.

I've decided to go with Poison/Ground and I've editted their movesets accordingly. It just seems right, even if Cuaro's gonna have a disproportionate number of Ground-types. Also, I like to make at least a few of my fake pokes competitively viable and a STAB Mold-Breaking Earthquake really is a force to be reckoned with. >;D

Ysavvryl: Tarfang seems a bit easy to me. I thought of Asphang as the 'tar' in tar pits is actually asphalt, but just having *** in its name really takes away some of its ferocious demeanour. DX I've tried playing with 'Smilodon' and different variations on 'Sabre' but I just can't come up with anything.

EDIT: HOW DID I NOT SEE IT BEFORE!!! *headdesk.... repeatedly* Scimitar :D It's perfect. I looked up 'sword' in an online thesaurus and it was right there. XD Yay.

JammyU: I like the sound of your fossil pokemon, the only thing is one of mine and Leaderfraser fossil pokemon was going to be a Saber-tooth tiger accept ours was going to be Ice/Rock or Ice/Ground. So when either me of leaderfraser posts that idea please don't think we're stealing. I think the other are going to be Ice/Ground or Ice/Rock mammoths. We were going for a Ice age theme. Although we may have some more sets of fossils.
Dilasc: Is your regoin accutually going to be in Mongolia or is it based on Mogolia like the Nintendo region are based on places in Japan
Ysavvryl: Thanks for the advice but what did you think of the pokemon
ChaRichard: I like the idea of Parakeets as pokemon but why has the Flying gym leader got a Eevee. Also we've seen the flying gym as the first gym before, it'll get boring if i repeated numerous times, like rock.
I waiting to speak to leaderfraser before I can post again, but I'd still appreciated some feedback on my pokemon posted on page 4, the begging story to my game and the team Sub-zero sprites. Thank You

T.T. In my region there is a flying eeveelution called aveon. In teh region you also have to verse all the gym leaders consecutively in part of the game, so his eevee evolves into aveon. My master plan XD

And can anyone see the image link in my post with the gym leaders? cos i swear i put the m in there.

Most Pokemon regions are based on real Japanese regions (Kanto is actually a real place in Japan) and the games are set in an alternate reality of our world; Lt. Surge is American and Xatu's entries mention South America to name some of the evidence.

But none of the games are set in our world, they are based on them yes, but one of the stories isn
t a kid in NY, or tokyo. They're parrallel.

ChaRichard: Oh, I get it now. But how many times to you need to beat the Gym Leaders in the story

ChaRichard

<--- WOOT WOOT!!
3 times. 2 of those are compulsory. First to get the badges(duh). 2nd, Before the E4, at the end of victory road, you see all the gym leaders blocking the exit. You discover that they have been brainwashed by team techno(I believe i talked about Leroy in FCIII) And you have to fight them tobreak them out of the trance. You fight adyn 1st, and he snaps out of it and you tag-team with him til u beat the others. then u go do E4. 3rd time is like on plat. There is a house after E4 that you go in and do E4 style challenges against them.

These are my other gym leaders:

Adyn
(u know about)
Badge: tornado badge

Malcolm
Male
42
Dark type
Skull badge

Ariana
Female
13
Light type
Beauty badge

Ricky

Fire type
Inferno badge

Alex

Electric type
Bolt badge

Bruno
Male
70
Grass type
Meadow badge

Jordan
Female
16
Dragon
Legend badge

Mikhail and Maxim
Male twins

Victory badge

I'm making sprites for the badges and ill post them here.

Pretty much it's BASED on Mongolia, the regions still claim their 'country' as Mongolia, but the history behind it and the rest of the world takes very different paths, much like how the game regions will identify as Japanese if needbe...

Anyway, Kertonmel Gym leaders aren't steamroller type fights, they have more theme.

Tyra is only bones but is still heavier than Callista Flockheart, the name is to somewhat make lols for connectivity to Tyra Banks, but you'll find few similarities.

Tyra is undead, and she'll estimate her age in the hundreds, she has dark necromancy and a phylactery befitting of a Lich. Still, she is not vile or mindless, she has deadpan sarcastic wit and is not one to be too secretive.

As a gym leader, she trains Pokemon with magic or undeath, not necessarily being ghost or magic types.

Win the Tibia badge and TM Battlemage, which raises your Defense and SpAtk by 1 level.

Rayne is the weather mistress, she focuses on Rain based teams, though not all of her Pokemon are water types. In fact, many are Thunderous, and some prefer Acid Rain. Either way, win and get the Cirrus badge and TM Rain Dance... you all know this one.

Mueler is the Farmhand trainer, animals normally domesticable for produce make up his highly diverse team. If you win, you get the Haystack Badge and the TM Wagon, a Wood Attack that has a high chance to boost the user's speed.

There are, of course, others.

Dilasc: I like that your leaders aren't the standard type-specialists. Its a good idea and makes for much less predictable teams. Acid Rain sounds good too, I think you mentioned it before but what does it do again?

Here's a new Pokemon from my project. This one's design is almost solely by my partner Team_Magma93 and the picture itself is entirely hers. The moveset and other dex entry info has been assembled by me though.

This Pokemon is quite unique. Like Castform and Cherrim it transforms depending on battle conditions but it's not the weather that causes this Pokemon's metamorphosis. Dholune, the Pokemon in question, is an Aether-type Pokemon during the day or whilst holding the Aether Stone, but at night or if it is given the Moon Stone it becomes Dark-type and all its Aether-type moves switch to their Dark counterparts. All Night info is to the left of the '/' and all day info is to the right:

Name: Dholune (Dhole + Lunar/Kitsune)
Classification: Metamorphosis Pokemon
Type: Dark (night), Aether (day)
Ability: Lycan (transforms depending on the time of day)
Egg Groups: Ground
Flavour Text: This pokemon is good-natured and loyal but at night it turns malevolent and dangerous and will even attack its own trainer. Because of this, many are made to permanently wear amulets of Aether Stone by those who keep them as pets.
Gender Ratio: 87.5M / 12.5F
Colour Class: Black/White
Evolution: None.
Move Set:
- Tackle
- Howl
5 Bite/Flare (same as Bite but special and Aether-type)
9 Odour Sleuth
13 Blackout/Flash (Blackout is just a Dark version of Flash)
17 Roar
21 Take Down
25 Scary Face
29 Assurance/Pity (Aether version of Assurance)
33 Glare
37 Crunch/Flash Fang (Same as Crunch but Aether-type)
41 Swagger
45 Dark Pulse/ Soul Blast (Same as Dark Pulse but Aether-type)
49 Embargo/HealBlock
53 Sucker Punch/Sybil Strike (Same as Sucker Punch but Aether-type)

In before the deadline ... my 'I'm still alive' post!

Also, a quick recap of my fakemon, plus some new ones. Hopefully to be followed by an entire region and its pokemon

Eelie (eel)
Type: Water
Ability: Torrent
A small, eel-like pokemon with four short and rather weak-looking legs. A mottled dark blue in colour, with slick, slimy skin. Evolves into:

Eelvore (Eel/carnivore)
Type: Water
Ability: Torrent
Evolves from Eelie. Has grown longer and the legs have thickened and lengthed. Has also become darker in colour and the skin looks rougher. The lower jaw now juts out slightly. Evolves into:

Eelmaw ( ... do I really need to explain this one? Eel/Maw)
Type: Water/Dark
Ability: Torrent
Although it has grown thicker, its body hasn't lengthened since evolution. Its legs are now thick and its skin is very rough and scaly. Its lower jaw is now much larger than the upper one, displaying several fangs.

The eel line is mainly a physical one, learning moves like Bite, Crunch, and Aqua Tail.

New! The grass starter line to go with the eels.

Thawn (Thorn/Fawn)
Type: Grass
Ability: Overgrow
A small, mossy green deer. Has very thin legs and no horns other than a pair of small brown thorns on its head. Evolves into:

Brambli (Bramble/Bambi. Couldn't resist)
Type: Grass
Ability: Overgrow
A little bit taller and thicker-bodied than Thawn. Its legs have grown a bit thicker too, and now look like they can actually support its weight. The thorns on its head have grown into a pair of short, thorny antlers that curve outwards and back. Evolves into:

Harbriar (Hart/briar)
Type: Grass
Ability: Overgrow
Has grown larger and more solid still. A second set of antlers has grown, this time growing backwards and staying close to the body. The fur on its neck has grown thicker and darker, giving it a short, messy mane.

A more defense-orientated line. Learns moves like headbutt, stomp, needle arm and maybe woodhammer. Will probably need a couple of new attacks that I haven't thought up yet.

And that's it so far. Next time: The fire type starters!

So, well, I've been thinking of a Pokemon idea for a while. It's a Pokemon that evolves at level 2 and actually becomes weaker. The evolution Pokemon is your average, basic normal type, very bland and rather weak (base 40 in every stat). It's prevolution, however, has an ability that doubles all of it's stats in battle (but the stats are base 30 each.) It would be a dark type, apocolypsish Pokemon. I don't know what I would base these on, however. Any ideas?

Ysavvryl

@ChaRichard: Wild idea, having a boss rush for Pokemon. But since 7 of the 8 battles are tag-teamed, it might be easy given the auto-heal and full-exp feature remains of tag-team fighting. Take those out, and it could be hard.

@Dilasc: I like that idea for Gyms, with more diverse teams. And adding the undead to the ghost community of Pokemon is fun!

@JammyU: Pass the word on that Dholune is great. Enough so that I can't really think of a comment for it... sorry.

@Joanie: Hi! So I guess Eelie is a Water starter. Nice work on both of them, even with shortish description (not neccesarily a problem). And Brambli is an awesome name.

@BynineB: Interesting concept, and a potential use for an Everstone. Looking at it, if you don't mind changing it to a three-stage Pokemon, how about a cicada (of DOOM! kidding)? You'd have the grub stage, the unexpectedly powerful 1-level Pokemon, then the 'cocoon' stage. Since cicadas take seventeen years to fully develop, you can have the final evo occur very late. Players would either have stop evolution to keep the grub stage, or deal with the cocoon stage for so long that they might give up (similar to Magikarp).

I know there's already Nincada, but it's a thought. You could also make the first stage a poltergeist or banshee type critter, then when it is 'calmed' by evolution, it becomes a more standard wandering spirit.

Wielding Übersaw.
Name: Grubanishd

Classification: Destruction Pokemon

Type: Dark/Bug

Ability: Raw Power (doubles users stats in battle)

Egg Group: Unbreedable

Flavour Text: This Pokemon's looks are deceiving, for it is incredibly powerful. If it were to concentrate enough power, it could devastate an entire city. For that reason, it is banned from tournaments and battle facilities.

Gender Ratio: 87.5 % Male, 12.5 % Female.

Base Stats: 32/32/32/32/32/32

Evolves into ??? (the cocoon Pokemon) at level 2.

Move Set:
- Thrash
- Scary Face
15 Bug Bite
30 Crunch
45 Energy Blast

Energy Blast has 180 base power, 100% accuracy, and is the ??? type. When used, it lowers the users stats slightly.

I figured I'd make it a psuedo-caterpie in terms to moveset. However, its stats more than make up for it, don't you think?

@Dilasc: I like the description of your region. Especially the large dessert. And your zombie gym leader is awesome.

And now for the water starter:

Number: #007
Name: Taddle (Tadpole + Puddle)
Type: Water
Ability: Torrent

Des: A small frog of a very young age. It still has its long tail from its tadpole stage and the tail has small translucent fins (like those of an eel) along the top and bottom. It is a light bluish color and has a pale yellow area under its mouth where its air sac is located. The air sac puffs up when it speaks. It has four short legs, each with two toes. Its eyes rest on top of its head, and as a result appear almost to bulge. Several pale yellow spots dot its back. A black band also wraps around each leg, right before each foot.

Dex Entry: Taddle have a habit of following others. They are said to croak loudly if they spot someone causing trouble.

Evo Line: Taddle -> Padawog (level 15) -> Bulboss (Level 33)

ChaRichard

<--- WOOT WOOT!!
@ChaRichard: Wild idea, having a boss rush for Pokemon. But since 7 of the 8 battles are tag-teamed, it might be easy given the auto-heal and full-exp feature remains of tag-team fighting. Take those out, and it could be hard.

The magic bit is, since Adyn has just come out of the trance, he can't heal your pokemon. I made each gym leader lower levels than the E4, since there are eight of them.

Did someone say Yanelder?!?!!?

Yanelder
The ancient pokemon
bug/rock type
Ability:Mesmerize(opponent cannot leave battle. When it tries, it is confused.)
Levitate
Desc: Yanmega, add rocks growing over the plates, - the wings, + weird light wings(like, made out of light) horns, whiskers, and make the front two legs proper arms. It holds an egg in it's arm.And its eyesare now split into two Ys, not just one.
It is a dark dark DARK purple on the body, with the plates and the head a forest green.

Dex entry: Yanelders have been known to live for thousands of years. It is possible to tell its age by the claws on its hand. However, removing its egg can be a dangerous task.

Evo line: yanma-lv up w/ ancientpower-Yanmega-Lv up in fountain of youth-Yanelder

The fountain of youth is an area in my game, where leroy plans to become immortal and rule the world. Ya know, classic bad guy stuff.

And now for the final starter line, the fire type. Which was the hardest to think of, really. I'm starting to understand why there were so few new fire types in D/P/Pt ...

Lindflam (Lindworm (wingless bipedal dragon of European myth/Flame)
Type: Fire
Ability: Blaze
A long, thin reddish-orange snake. Has yellow eyes and a line of yellow flames running down its back from just below its head to the end of its tail. Evolves into:

Firlind (Fire/Lindworm)
Type: Fire
Ability: Blaze
Firlind has grown much longer than Lindflame, although it has otherwise not changed much. Has a pair of glowing firey balls on the end of its tail similar to Dragonair. The major change from Lindflam is that it has grown a pair of short, clawed forearms similar to a T-Rex's. Evolves into:

Lindburn
Type: Fire/Dragon
Ability: Blaze
Once again it has grown longer, now with two seperate frills of fire running down its back. Its forearms have grown much larger and thicker, and instead of two balls on the end of its tail it now has a club-like cluster of them.

Hooray for the end of the starters!
Currently Nameless Region's pokedex so far;
1: Thawn
2: Brambli
3: Harbriar
4: Lindflam
5: Firlind
6: Lindburn
7: Eelie
8: Eelvore
9: Eelmaw

Coming soon: A strange new artificial pokemon, and possibly pokedex entries.
