Clearly we're great!
Is there a way to turn the swear filter off in this section? It really hampers some of what I try to post.
According to bobandbill, Serebii doesn't think it's possible to disable the filter for a single forum. Because the default font size is 4, you can use size tags to wrap one of the letters in a swear word to get around the censor but have the word render correctly. Like this:
fuck
Scripts: The format plays and screenplays are written to instruct actors. No scripted fics are allowed unless they are properly written scripts. This means they include details on the setting, character descriptions, characters’ emotions/tone of voice, and stage directions and actions. Fics cannot be written half in script form and half in prose – your format must be consistent.
Scripts are generally discouraged here, as a lot of people write them out of laziness, and it shows. These are one of the hardest types of stories to pull off well, as scripts are not meant to be read, but are simply directions for actors. Be aware of these things before deciding to write in script format.
Apologies for the delay!Sorry to bump the thread, but I've got a question and I don't want to post a fic and get into trouble with the mods.
So, I posted a fic here back in 2006, when I was much younger and under a different username. Fast forward to now, I'm a forgetful moron who forgot my password to my old account and therefore made this one. I would actually like to rewrite my old fanfic on here. But again, I was under a different name. I would like to post the rewrite, but I don't want to step on any toes.
Would I be in trouble if I posted the fic I wrote years ago under a different username? If there's any confirmation I can provide I will definitely try.
If the author has a new chapter, they may post it even if it would bump the thread. (However, if it has been a very long time, consider restarting the fic in a new thread and/or possibly proofreading older chapters before posting)
I'm not a mod but I'm 95% sure that you don't need to "restart" every single time since quite a few authors here, as far as I can tell anyway, take months between chapters and just post them in the same thread. There's even one that did have one year between the two chapters. So I think you'll be fine.Hey guys, apologies if I'm not supposed to reply here, but I had a question about part of the bumping rule:
I'm a (very) slow writer on account of my IRL responsibilities, and my usual update cycle usually takes 1-2 years for a chapter. Would I really have to "restart" my story in a new thread every time I publish a new chapter?
Absolutely not! Otherwise the last few chapters of Obsession would have been in *deep* trouble, but they weren't.Hey guys, apologies if I'm not supposed to reply here, but I had a question about part of the bumping rule:
