Welcome to the Federation. This is the official star trek club. For fans of star trek or for people who like star trek but don't really know anything about it. Either way there is a ranking system and to gain rank you have to succeed in a series of tests (A good website to learn from is ccdump.org/ - no www. The level of difficulty in these tests increases as the stature in rank increases. The ranks are: (in accending order)

Cadet (To become a Cadet, there is no real test that has to be taken however your Star Trek interest has to be proven.)
Ensign-ENS
Lieutenant,Junior Grade-LT JG
Lieutenant-LT
Lieutenant Commander-LCDR
Commander-CMDR
Captin-CAPT
Commodore-COMO
Rear Admiral-RADM
Vice Admiral-VADM
Admiral-ADM = Steelwing, WaterTrainer243.
Fleet Admiral-FADM (Position is mine only unless anyone knows as much about Star Trek as me and I know alot!) Jay Jay

Please keep the discussion on the topic of star trek, whether it is on the movies, the games, the Original series (with William Shatner), the Next Generation (with Patrick Stewert), DS9 ( Deep Space 9) or Voyager.

*Holds his hand up and splits his middle and index fingers from his ring finger and pinky* Live Long and Prosper. I'm a Star Trek fan myself; I've seen all the movies, most episodes of the original series, TNG, DS9, and Voyager and a few episodes of Enterprise. My favorite movie is Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home with Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn in second, Star Trek Nemesis in third, and Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country in 4th. I even have a Klingon-English dictionary book and know a few Klingon words. Out of all the Star Trek characters, my favorite would probably be Data; I was really upset when he [spoil]was destroyed along with Shinzon's Warbird in Nemesis.[/spoil] I hope this proves that I'm somewhat of a Trekkie.

Note: Ensen is spelled E-N-S-I-G-N.

Yeh thanks for that, i can never remember how to spell ensign and i couldn't be bothered looking it up. I need a couple of Admirals to help me and you too seem to know alot about Star Trek so you too are an Admiral. I myself have watched most of the films but only once and can hardly remember them however I have watched the whole 7 seasons of DS9 2 or 3 times and TNG 7 seasons once. (I own all ds9 and next gen episodes, aswell as the first season of the originals. Oh and most voyagers)

Oh another thing, you know you said your favourite character was Data, well I went to a Star Trek convension resently and met Brent Spiner-Data and Avery Brooks-Captin Sisko!!!

Thanks, wow you got lucky to meet them! I only went to one convention in my entire life and I was only a kid. I do remember Mark Lennard(Sarek) being the guest speaker though. I still wish I could go to another convention though.

Can i join please?

My fave series is Voyager by a long shot although i still love TNG and DS9. My fave characters are Seven, Data, Picard and Sisko. My favorite one though is Seven because i like her history and i like her looks a lot. :D

Ive seen most if not all the movies i cant remember but my favourite one is First Contact because it features the Borg. [SPOIL]I was upset when Data got blown up and Kes left from Voyager.[/SPOIL]

I collected the official fact file that was released over here in england for a while (about a year) before i couldnt afford it. Plus i enjoy reading the books especially the Voyager ones. When Voyager ended i was upset as i felt like apart of it having watched the entire series (although i have seen most of it again), although i like the way it ends. Also, i watched the animated series a few years ago.

Hope this proves how much i like it.

yeh sure you can definatly join, you seem to know a good amount about star trek. However I am reluctant to make you an Admiral like Steelwing and WaterTrainer. They were the first 2 and both know alot. You obviously know a good lot too, but if I keep ranking ppl straight away because they seem to know alot then the ranking system I've tryed to make would fall to pieces. It may be that you do know enough to be an Admiral but still, would it be okay if I gave you maybe a test so that i could be more acurate in ranking you. (Don't worry if your not an Admiral you would definatly be something high ranked)

p.s I like Voyager alot too. Its theme tune is one of my favourites!

I downloaded the theme song to Voyager.

I'll join too. I put a little Intrepid in my signature for now, but its bigger than I thought, so I think I'll remove it.

Anyone play any ST games? I've been playing Armada II for a while, but I might not go through with it for much longer.

I have recorded every Star Trek episode (Enterprise not included) and I have every movie, save for the last one.

One thing I always wondered was that should the computer on Voyager be given it's own holographic "self", like the Doctor has one, would it be played by Majell Barret?(sp?)

By the way, in Endgame, [SPOIL]the Doctor in the alternate future as called Joe, but would you think he would be called Joe again when time "caught up" or would he have a different name? [/SPOIL]

[SPOIL]i dont think so i think he would not have met her as they would have been home much earlier and he may have met someone else sooner. And his name would be Bob instead :D[/SPOIL]

Technically, it was the citation(sp?) probe sent to find out why there hadn't been any communications from the humpback whales for so long, which is why they used the slingshot manoever(sp?) to go round the sun and travel back to 1080's America to pick up George and Gracie (and calf), slingshot back round the sun again, and then put George and Gracie (and calf) back into the ocean to re-populate their species.

The whales used were (for the time) high tech radio controlled models that had boosts signals as the signals wouldn't reach the models through the water, and were so realistic that various animal rights groups objected to the camera crew(s) getting so close to the whales!

At least, I think that that's it.

Brock Phillips.
