well i've recently found myself using more hatched pokemon, on account of IV's. but as a rule, if they have the stats, natures and moves to stand on their own, i run with it. if it aint broke, don't fix it, right?

Mostly caught...is that such a crime? :(
No it isn't. I use a lot of hatched pokemon, but I have a Scyther that I'm training for competitive battling that was caught at level 52 in an Ultra Ball.
