Since Master 8 is a Tournament do you think the battles are randomized or is there any key to ensure no 1 and no 2 don't fight eachother in 1st match?

Maybe like this:

1 vs. 8
2 vs. 7
3 vs. 6
4 vs. 5

(1 vs. 8) vs. (4 vs. 5)
(2 vs. 7) vs. (3 vs. 6)

W vs. W

Then there would be matches between losers for their final rankings...

Though the tourney only happens during the end of a season (their Playoffs counterpart)... So Ash might battle each of his 7 fellow M8s and lose against the ones he'll be fighting in the M8 tourney before heading on into the proper...

They all fight each other until number Leon and number two are standing

#1 vs. #8 would be Leon vs. Ash right at the start lmao.
Not necessarily... Because Ash has to end up #8 at the end of the regular season at that scenario... The tourney will happen like playoffs... Ash will end up #2, #3, #6 or #7 before the playoffs/tourney kicks off...

The writers are setting Ash up to battle all M8 so he'll likely take everyone out except for those whom he will battle at the tourney (in the tourney he can only battle 3 so he has to beat at least 4/8 before heading into the tourney)...

I still stick by that this should be the best format (provided it's written and paced well) that allows for maximum coverage of the Master tier, both before and during the final tournament.:

This is almost what I was trying to say...

Wondering to which Rank Ash will climb after defeating Bea. Could see him crack top50.

Hopefully Ash will have another PWC battle till new year. I expect an filler on Nov 12th, than the Sinnoh double parter on 19th & 26th and hopefully one more battle before New Year.

Really hoping it won't get past 50... But it's highly possible...

Someone else brought it up first, but Volkner (27) + Ash (99) = 126, divided by 2 is 63. Ash ranked up to 64 against Volkner, so whatever rank he gains after beating Bea shouldn't be over 32.
Would be fine with that

EDIT: Brainfarted, forgot that Hyper tier only goes up to 9.
To be honest, I highly doubt there'll a mathematic formula to determine how much Ash will climb. The staff just make up the numbers they think it's convenient

There probably isn't. But that isn't surprising because the target audience probably doesn't want to do math.

Since we know Ash is getting a Mega Glove versus a Bracelet, I have a feeling we might see Ash use Mega-Evolution, G-Max, and Z-Moves against Leon.

Something similar to the Drake battle where Ash realizes Dragonite is simply too strong and uses multiple Pokemon to weaken it and take it out with Pikachu.

I wouldn't be surprised if this happens to be the same case with Leon's G-Max Charizard and Ash ends up using, G-Max (Gengar) and Mega Lucario to weaken it and finally win the battle with Pikachu's 10MV Z-Move.

I hope that won't happen. Why would the creators emphasize the fight between G-max Pikachu and G-max Charizard, if it were to be like your script?
Anyway, I think G-max Pikachu should beat G-max Charizard on his own. If the Charizard is weakened beforehand by Satoshi's other Pokémon, then for me the competition between the yellow mouse and the orange reptile will make no sense.
