Since Gary was Ash's rival for about 2 regions do you like him, do you think he sucks, do you think hes okay and your other opinions.

CyberCubed

Yeah, ok!
He's run his course, for the most part.

I liked him in Kanto and Orange Islands, he was ok in Johto, but meh, I wouldn't want him to be back on the series anymore.

He's just another one of those characters that lost their luster as time went on, (such as Misty and Brock), and aren't terribly interesting anymore.

well since ash and his friends are in the kanto region again for the battle frontier you will have to see him again in a episode just like seeing misty back in the hoenn region

The Gary poll might be pushing it...I was hoping for a poll for the main character and second in command...TR is the only other characters who are really important enough to warrant a poll, considering the fact that they are a subplot in every episode. But Gary was too one dimensional and mean for my tastes. I prefer Harley

Gary was an interesting rival in early Kanto until he lost the 4th round of the Indigo league. Though it would be interesting to see him back in this filler saga but not as Ash's rival.

Gary used to be a jerk during the Indigo saga, but throughout the Jotho saga he became a bit kinder towards Ash and at the end of the Jotho region he was a totally new person. He even now respects Ash.

I like Gary. I like him over Ash because he's fresher and has a cool design.
That doesn't mean I love him over Ash though. I think in cases like this, like and love are two different things.
It'd be nice if he returned again, Ash surely needs a rival so he doesn't act like a goody-two shoes.

In the past I've never really liked Gary. His stuck-up attitude always annoyed me to no end. But as the anime progressed, a new Gary emerged, as well as a new perspective. I tend to regard Gary in awe for the way he's matured and even pursued another path (a researcher). Comes to show that he was willing to grow up, thus demolishing the old, pompous rival image that used to peeve me off. Although looking back, he was the typical nemesis suitable for the protagonist, and their little quarrels were interesting. However, the show seems to have developed multi-faceted goals, producing less emphasis on the one stated at the very beginning of the show, becoming a Pokemon master. Personally, I like to see character development, and Gary has earned my respect. I'm curious to see his attitude towards Ash now.

Um, he's okay...I think. But he was such a jerk to Ash in the beginning...T_T...But he changed throughout the Johto Region, and I liked him alot better ^^

I never liked gary, until he lost. Then I hated him. I had some respect for his fighting ability, but that all dissapeared and now I hate him. He ran his course and now he's done, thank God.
Over and out,;198;

The option I would have choosen would have been "He's annoying, but I don't hate him", if that had been an option. I just never really liked him. He was always one step ahead of Ash, and that was pretty much garunteed, so he had no new surprises. He was just bland to me.

Much better then Drew and Harley, but sadly his time has expired and Ash has not gotten a new rival since.

SOS! Its Not Healthy..

He Say Whaaa...
I put he was okay, I always looked as Gary as a mentor in an odd way. Even though he was conceited and always one step ahead of Ash, he actually wanted Ash to succeed. Around Johto, he got a hell of a change, but at times I did miss him as annoying brat that always bothered Ash. But during the league, I saw how Gary and Ash in battle were really giving their all. Since in the past, they never really got much battling until pre-Johto when Gary's Eevee beat the living crap of Pikachu, the battle opened Ash's eyes, and as then they started to see each other once in a while, but more acting like friends then rivals.

Gary played a huge role in Ash's life, and after Ash beats him, its surprising how he decides to follow in his grandfather's footsteps. Okay I was bored, but eh, my little stupid rant.

I miss Gary so much. He eats the majority of the characters for breakfast. XD
Doesn't anyone else love Gary? It was cool when Ash had a rival. I like Drew (partly because I've been brainwashed by my friend ^^), but Gary had more Pokemon and he showed up more often.

CyberCubed

Yeah, ok!

Heh, he didn't show up more often.

Gary only got two episodes during the Orange Islands, and only three in Johto before the tournament.

Drew makes far more frequent appearances than Gary.

Shigeru's great. He became kind of boring during Jouto, though. I liked him more when he was an arrogant arse.

Kanto Gary was good, but after that he was just...eh. Why the writers seemed to have suddenly decided that we can't have any of Ash's rivals be snooty is beyond me. :/ It's impressive how he's matured, which is good for him, but...any sort of Mr./Ms. Goody Two-shoes just can't interest me as a rival very much anymore. The only real exception to that was Masamune, but he actually ACTED COMPETITIVE while being a goody two-shoes.

Didn't like him durring the whole Indigo league thing, but when Ash went to Johto I began liking him more because he was starting to respect Ash more. Then he left.... =/
