Very conservative presidential candidate won (or is likely to win?)

I've read that he's said things like he would rather see his son die in an accident than his son be gay, to put into perspective why this is not a good thing happening over there.

Simple. By false promises and hopes and voters who fall for such lies. That’s how the US ended up with a bigoted misogynistic man for its leader.
