What follows is the story of several Gijinka.
In the recent age, Gijinka are recognized as atypical people; people with the hearts and souls of Pokémon. For the most part, they're all treated normally; no differently from one human as one to another. However, they are noted as being quite interesting; occasionally, some of them can even take on remarkably less human forms which are much more similar to the Pokémon they are truly. Despite all their differences and abnormalities, Gijinka are primarily considered to simply be... interesting.
Frequently, a Gijinka may arise to reach a revered position in modern society (such as N). Something far less common than for a Gijinka to belong to a species line is for a Gijinka to be of a specific type variety (or, as N was, a Gijinka of all Pokémon in their entirety). They may be appreciated as productive individuals with unusual personalities or, at their worst, absolutely detested as abominations of nature and thought of freakishly. Typically they would appear to be almost completely ordinary, with only a mild semblance of their Pokémon personalities in addition to an extent of such a Pokémon's abilities. They would also, in a regular society, perhaps be given various jobs to suit their capabilities (such as a Pikachu line Gijinka typically being expected to be a sort of electrician or something similar, like an electronic innovator or mechanic)...
...but that is not their story.
A young adult awoke to find himself immersed inside a stasis tank in a certain remote scientific laboratory.
What... the f*ck?!
He noticed around him several other subjects, all of which were trapped and contained similarly. At the center of the room he noticed someone - a somewhat younger girl - also restrained likewise, in a different type of tank, chained back against a wall. Multiple scientists and researchers in lab coats were standing nearby. They took note of the young experiment awakening.
"...how are you?" one of them, a woman who appeared to be quite young and acted subordinately to all the others (perhaps a college-age intern), kindly asked him.
"Who the hell are you? What-"
He was interrupted suddenly; the wall of the lab to his right was blown apart. Multiple troops from a certain region all started pouring in immediately. The scientists sent out their Pokémon; the numerous soldiers readied their weapons and did similarly.
"Wait; no!" the scientist who was looking over him exclaimed; she was immediately shot.
Several of the experiments began awakening. The soldiers were shooting at everything, and a few of the scientists returned fire. He caught sight of the girl in the center; she was waking. There were several mechanical limbs operating inside her container.
"Agh! W-what are you doing?!"
He tried to beat the glass keeping him imprisoned furiously; it was cracking slowly. The soldiers were slowly taking more ground. One of them used his semi-automatic firearm to smash in the girl's cell door. He discarded his weapon and brought out a knife.
"Someone, help!" she screamed.
He finally managed to break out of his tank; he began gliding across the room over to their general vicinity. The rifleman shoved aside the mechanical devices and raised his left arm, preparing to stab her. The test subject gripped his arm suddenly. He wrestled with the soldier, and they fell back onto the fluid-covered ground. The experiment got above the soldier and kicked him in the face. He proceeded to the girl.
The soldiers directed their attention towards the victims. They began to shoot down all the test subjects, breaking the glass tanks. A few of them tripped out of their cells and got moving. Some of them walked around for a moment, wondering what the hell was going on right before getting gunned down. A few of them caught understanding of what was happening and managed to escape. Still others were shot up in their tanks and never got the opportunity to go on living.
Amidst the chaos, the young adult used a type of aura to break her chains; they made their escape quickly.

There are 3 different nations secretly operating against each other: Tohjo, Unova, and Kalos. Hoenn and Sinnoh will gradually become involved in these matters. Almia, Fiore, and Orre may also be used as your characters' home regions.
I'd initially planned for the opening to be set in Orre; it now occurs on an island off the coast of Unova.
The requirements for Sign Ups have been shortened dramatically, seeing how "paragraphs" don't have much definition, and it wouldn't be reasonable for Sign Ups to have 2 or more sentences for every given Pokémon.

Name: Jon Theou
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Species: Togekiss
Moves:
Nasty Plot - Jon is a brilliant planner and tactician, and, by spending a moment thinking, can formulate an excellent plan as well as amplify his power over metaphysical energy.
Aura Sphere - he has considerable awareness of and control over aura and energy; he can use aura-based attacks.
Roost - he heals completely; for an hour, he loses his ability to fly or glide in exchange, in addition to also losing all Flying-type weaknesses, resistances, and immunities.
Air Slash - Jon takes control of Flying-type energy and controls the air to slash at someone; it may cause them to cringe frequently.
Ability: Super Luck - whether the fact of how his attacks frequently do twice as much damage as they do normally or how he's just so charismatic and successful personally, he's just generally f*cking lucky.
Appearance: He stands at 5'10" and weighs 140 lbs. or so; he's somewhat thin and even physically frail; at least whatever bulk he does have is muscle. He's just slightly better than adequate at running and really doesn't like fighting. He has an olive colored skin tone. He used to have brown hair with a red patch on the right side of his forehead and a blue one on the left. He has always been an unusual one. His hair now consists entirely of a bunch of scattered red and blue patches of color and every so often turns white (with bright red and blue pieces) and fluffy. He has sable irises. His appearance has been altered as a result of the experimentation. He's practically always glowing. After undergoing experimentation, the constituency of the hair on his body became substantially more... feathery. His arms are capable of outright transforming into wings if he uses a Flying-type attack. He has scars all over his arms and legs that he usually tries to conceal. He usually has a gray t-shirt and wears khakis. He's always wearing black running shoes.
Personality: In spite of what he is, he knows he's not anywhere near being some kind of angel. He knows he's not the best person he could be (or even good, for that matter), or even important to anyone, but he desires good. He always wishes for what's right; he wants what's best for everyone (no matter how painful it may be), and he realizes that no one should have to suffer, but he believes that people should definitely be willing to suffer (starting with himself). He may not agree with certain beliefs other people might follow or condone vicious actions they might take, but he understands; he'd care about them, regardlessly. He doesn't want to cause pain to anyone, but if he has to in order to keep people from causing misery to others, he will warn them, and oppose them until they stop. There was a time when he had once sought vengeance, and he's still occasionally driven by it. The physical injuries he's received from childhood that he doesn't usually unveil reflect his soul; he doesn't like making mistakes or having to put others at risk. He believes that people should want to do what they should do, although he hardly ever lives up to that standard himself. He always feels severe regret and penitence for whatever he realizes he's done wrong (even to his enemies). Some of his best and quickest ideas, however, involve committing some sort of wrongdoing.
History: He was born and raised in Aspertia City. He has a brother who's older than him by 3 years, a sister who's younger than him by 3, and another sister who, in turn, is younger than her by 3. His family was always kind and loving, and his parents cared about everyone they knew. He was known to be a Gijinka from a very young age (since he was about 3). In their youth, his parents taught him and his siblings a few things: that all people are born equally (what people do determines what they deserve), that all people are f*cking evil (including themselves) and they should try not to be (everyone should do what they feel is right), that everyone deserves to go to hell, as well as themselves, that hating other people because of what they do is wasting one's life, that life could always be worse (no matter how terrible you think life and people are towards you, someone's always suffering more; you have no right to hate others or to complain), that what's best for other people (what's right) isn't always what's easy or what makes someone happy (in fact, it tends to be what's painful way more frequently), that the only thing which is really worth living for is other people (you won't find a reason to live if you're living for yourself), and the only way to overcome evil is to forgive everyone.
Everyone always considered him to be a brilliant student. Once he reached high school, he decided he'd begin Pokémon training. He was decent at it, to say the least, and he became a rising star in Pokémon battling from Unova immediately. He began by training his Beldum, which his older brother had given him at the age of 10. He gradually managed to beat every single Gym Leader and defeat the entire League over the course of his high school battling career. He traveled to Tohjo, and, within a month, managed to defeat the Gym Leaders from both of Kanto and Johto right before overcoming its Pokémon League. After his training, he headed back to Pallet Town to meet the regional Professor; he was just passing through Viridian City (by the Trainer House) and took a rest after having trained his Pokémon at Mt. Silver extensively, at which point he was tersely kidnapped.
Pokémon Team:
Species: Absol
Name: Absolvens
Gender: Male
Personality: Absolvens always knows what he's doing; he's strong-willed and level-headed. He wants the best for others, even if it's painful for them or himself.
Species: Gardevoir
Name: Gardant
Gender: Female
Personality: Gardant is a kind, compassionate, empathic Pokémon who loves others. She tries to protect people as much as she can.
Species: Gallade
Name: Galant
Gender: Male
Personality: Galant tries to be courteous and kind. He's a selfless, clever kind of Pokémon who wants to do as much good for others as he possibly can.
Species: Metagross
Name: Metagross
Gender: Genderless
Appearance: It's shiny.
Personality: Jon's first Pokémon, Metagross is his absolute strongest; needlessly to say, they are very close personally. Metagross always tries to understand people, and does care about everyone; however, it will cause suffering and hardship to anyone's enemies if that's what's required to stop them. If he had to commit a misdeed so that good might result or so that people acting out of self-interest may be defeated, he'd take that course of action. He can think through (scientifically and mathematically) essentially anything, really.
Materials/Equipment: An empty M16 which he acquired from a dead soldier during the fight.
Name: Jacqueline Lief
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Species: To Be Revealed
Moves: None.
Ability: None.
Appearance: She has red hair and blue eyes, in addition to chalky skin (she spends most of the day inside). She's 5'7" tall and weighs about 145 lbs., with a remarkable musculature. She has a great physical appearance, and quite frequently does her best to run around and remain healthy. She primarily wears jeans and small t-shirts; she's currently wearing a gray one. She has red running shoes which she always wears. She has a black jacket for cold weather.
Personality: She's kind and sweet to everyone she knows. She always tries to extend kindness to other people, even if they've wronged her or her friends, or acted ungratefully (she honestly doesn't consider herself to be entirely innocent, which is probably a good thing). She knows how terrible everyone in the world behaves, but she still always tries to be kind. She doesn't like being judgmental towards anyone. She only really wants to accomplish what's right (not for any type of reward from anyone else; because no one should have to suffer). She is remarkably intelligent, and, given sufficient pertinent information, can understand anything. She's never personally met a Gijinka, nor does she have the faintest idea about why she was kidnapped.
History: She was born in Viridian City. She has an older half-brother who happened to be an exceptionally skilled Pokémon Trainer. She would usually wander around all the towns; she mostly enjoyed staying in Celadon City. She was given a fully trained Dragonite by her older brother when she was 13. Her parents got married about a year before she was born, a few years after her mother divorced her half-brother's father; they were both going out with other people during their marriage, and they were mutually aware of (although not particularly displeased by) it. Her mother settled down with her father in Viridian City, and they've since lived contently. Her brother frequently stops by (for a few days every couple of months, or, sometimes, in a rapid succession of alternating weeks if he's not busy). Her brother lives in Saffron City; he's a powerful, responsible young adult who's been attending a college there, studying to attain a medical profession (which limits every moment he would have had with her even more), and loves her dearly, as well as everyone else in his family.
She's always done well at school, and even got to spend her freshman year with her brother while he was a senior. She enjoyed science more than anything. No one actually knew she was a Gijinka; in fact, she doesn't even perfectly qualify as a Gijinka. During the summer, she would practice training her Pokémon frequently; she was a decent Trainer, and even managed to beat all the Gym Leaders up to Saffron City; she didn't know where to find the 7th Gym, actually. She was stopping by to meet up with some of her friends in Viridian City, and decided to spend about a week at the Trainer House. She practiced her battling and asked around where the Gym Leader may be. She heard that after Cinnabar Island experienced that horrible volcanic eruption, he had to leave, and established a new Gym in the Seafoam Islands, where he resides currently. She didn't even want to bother with her hometown's Gym Leader; she knew how tough he's supposed to be, and she knew she'd need more training. At the Trainer House, she kind of killed two birds with one stone by visiting. It was the middle of her week in training when she was suddenly kidnapped.
Pokémon Team:
Species: Pichu
Name: Pichy
Gender: Female
Personality: Jacqueline's beloved child, bred between a couple of Pikachu she caught in the Forest and left in Goldenrod's local Day Care; Pichy was given to her in Johto during a visit by Magnet Train. She knows better than to be cruel, selfish, arrogant, or avaricious. She's always sought to let other people know that someone cares about them.
Species: Eevee
Name: Vi
Gender: Male
Personality: A Pokémon Jackie caught and raised herself. Those who take him lightly, beware; he successfully managed to single-handedly knock out half of the Saffron Gym Leader's team just recently.
Species: Charizard
Name: Lizardy
Gender: Male
Personality: Jacqueline's first Pokémon, given to her at the age of 10 during a visit to Pallet Town in her brother's company. He has a close bond with her, and is the vanguard of her team.
Species: Dragonite
Name: Kawairyū
Gender: Male
Personality: Kawairyū was a gift to Jacqueline from her brother; he grew close to her almost immediately. He's from Johto; he's the trump card of her team.
She's practically a civilian who was just kidnapped alongside everyone else, and should be treated accordingly.
Name: Edouard Hugo
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Species: Dusclops
Moves:
Pain Split - Edouard reaches out towards a target up to 10 meters away and shares their life force.
Will-O-Wisp - he emits a ball of fire that inflicts a second-degree burn on a target up to 10 meters away, resulting in severe physical pain.
Curse - he causes an ethereal nail to materialize and stabs himself in the chest with it; a target is then afflicted with a respiratory illness that causes them to cough up blood for about a day.
Night Shade - Edouard causes shadows to move and frightening illusions of carnage to emerge from them, stunning a target while he violates their soul and erases their life force; it doesn't work on ordinary people, but it does affect psychics and Gijinka who aren't Normal-type, as well as Pokémon.
Ability: Frisk - Edouard can tell what people are carrying (even if it's concealed) by looking at them.
Appearance: Edouard stands at 5'10" and weighs 155 pounds. He's not physically outstanding in any sense. He has corpselike skin. He has jet hair and red eyes. He enjoys wearing dress clothes or gray collared shirts and khakis. He usually prefers to wear dress shoes over running shoes, unless it's not a reasonable option. His feet are round, pallid gray stumps.
Personality: Edouard is rather courteous. He acts nicely to people who care to go out of their way to converse with him. He doesn't like to appear intimidating, but he doesn't want to look like a degenerate punk. He believes that the first step to getting people to be friends is to act kindly towards them, and, if people respond cruelly, there's nothing you can do to get them to like you, so it's not worth trying to be kind to them. Furthermore, he knows better than to trust people, even if his policy is to be charismatic and kind.
History: Edouard was born in Mistralton City. He's an only child to parents from Kalos. He was physically frail throughout his youth. He had a few friends with whom he'd train Pokémon. He did exceptionally well in school, and some of his friends would ask him to explain the content of some science and mathematics classes for them. He was always recognized as a Gijinka; no one questioned it from the day he was born, due mostly to his red eyes. He'd often practice intangibility to help his friends get anything they'd need that'd otherwise take a ridiculous amount of effort.

Personality: Dr. Shiraga likes to give off the impression that the people he's with matter most to him; that others’ lives carry significance to him. He conducts himself with a charismatic behavior, hoping to be approachable and kind in others’ eyes. Above all else, he wants others to think of him fondly; for his life to have amounted to something good. He's made several mistakes in the past, and was incompetent for the most part as a child; he believes that these experiences helped him develop some extent of maturity in college, and he's usually willing to confess that he's the one to blame and strive to make amends if he can. He doesn't assume misdeeds or errors to be committed out of malice when they could just as well be attributed to incompetence or factors that aren't the (whom he often views as flawed) person's fault. He believes that it's inherent in everyone's most fundamental nature to act out of self-interest, which also leads to ignorance, but he doesn't blame others for that because he believes that it's not a person's fault until they wittingly elect to commit a vice. Name: Misaki Yamato
Gender: Female
Age: 24
Clearance Level: 2
Appearance: Misaki’s about 5’3” and weighs 130 lbs. with pale skin and a common physique. She has shiny brown hair and dark brown eyes. She usually wears a simple gray t-shirt and jeans, with red running shoes. She wears a lab coat whenever she’s tasked with performing an experiment.
Personality: Misaki’s never liked competition, but she recognizes that the people in the world often arrange competitions for everything, including, to her chagrin, academics. She’s always enjoyed school and understanding new things, but she doesn’t approve of people taking advantage of that knowledge (or anything they may have, for that matter) out of self-interest. She hopes to discover something groundbreaking that may be useful for everyone through research. She believes that people should care about each other before themselves, and to wish that things would turn out well even if there was nothing you could do.
History: Misaki was born in Goldenrod City in Johto. She never traveled much. She has an older sister who lives in Blackthorn City; she’s a renowned Pokémon Trainer. Her parents gave her a Lapras when she was 13. She never cared much about training, although her family was reputable for having skilled Dragon-type Trainers. She moved to Humilau City in Unova after being offered a job as a researcher for Project E.
Pokémon Team:
Species: Lapras
Name: Lapras
Gender: Female
Personality: Lapras has never taken part in a battle; Misaki never wanted to train, so neither of them would know whether or not they’d want to. Lapras does, however, enjoy using Surf for any reason Misaki may have in mind.
Materials/Equipment: None.
Name: Clemens Dumas
Gender: Male
Age: 21
Clearance Level: 2
Appearance: Clemens weighs about 180 lbs. and stands at 6’1”. He has tan skin, dark brown hair, and green eyes. He hardly looks interesting. He usually wears a gray collared shirt and khakis. He dons a lab coat as needed for conducting experiments. He usually wears black leather shoes.
Personality: He’s usually thought of as a tough guy, but he’s usually more fearful than he’d appear to let on, and, by his own admission, he’s more of a coward than most people. Whenever he participates in any experiments, he worries about the risks of accidents that could occur, and always spends a great deal of effort taking precautions to prevent them. He wouldn’t want anything to go wrong for anyone whatsoever. He believes that people should seek understanding before power.
History: He was born in Lumiose City in Kalos; he spent a great deal of his life studying fields of science concerning Biology and Chemistry, even before he decided he’d like to be a researcher. He was given a Gyarados with Gyaradosite by his parents when he was 18. He had never been interested in training Pokémon, but he was thankful for what he’d had and would use the Gyarados if he ever needed to defend anyone. He was recently offered a job as a researcher in Unova. He accepted the job and moved.
Pokémon Team:
Species: Gyarados
Name: Gyarados
Gender: Male
Personality: Gyarados is indifferent to most things; the only thing that he’d care about to make his life sufficient is doing whatever needs to be done so as to keep the people he knows safe, but he would enjoy putting his opponents in their place if he ever had to fight in a battle.
Materials/Equipment: Gyaradosite.
Name: Jack Anderson

Age: 40
Rank: Major (O-4)

Appearance: Jack stands at 5'11" and weighs 165 lbs., with a fairly thin yet well-built (although not particularly muscular) figure. He has dark brown hair and eyes. His face has a huge red blistered scar stretching from his ear to his nose below his right eye. He has a remarkably pallid skin tone. His facial expressions may be best described as stern and unrelenting. He shaves twice each day.
Personality: Work in Progress
History: Work in Progress
Pokémon Team: To Be Revealed
Materials/Equipment: Work in Progress
Weapons: Work in Progress
Name: "Hellknight" (his name is classified, and, as such, he's only referred to by his callsign)
Gender: Male
Age: Classified
Appearance: A man of unknown age and origin who moreso resembles a college-aged bachelor in his early twenties than what he actually (most likely) is. He stands at 6'0" easily, and acts with little regard for his posture or dressing habits, usually slouching heavily at 5'9"-5'10". He has blond hair, excessively tan skin, and blue irises. He has stitches across his arms and legs, at the sides of his waist, from his shoulders to the sides of his neck, across his hands, from the outer edge to the sole of each of his feet, and across his chest and back (across width and length, respectively). He usually dresses (when not in a standard Unova Marine Corps fatigue) in plain jeans and either a black or white t-shirt, or, in formal meetings, a grey collared shirt (and, during occasions in which people are expected to dress extremely formally, as in dress clothes, khakis). He's somewhat well-figured, but his physical durability is astoundingly more than what his seemingly lithe and even not well defined physique might lead people to believe.
Personality: He's really chill (so much so that it might even be comedic, if it was not for the gravity of the things he does), and takes everyone's lives lightly. He enjoys being able to affect the lives of others; to be able to hold some kind of significance to them, and being able to determine who does what, who lives, and who dies, and, on the occasion, even how people feel and think about things; whether or not they'd be willing to do something or forced, coerced into doing something based upon their motives and incentives. Sometimes he does things which ruins things existentially, or have horrible, twisted effects on others' lives, just to prove that nothing really even matters in the end. Some people might even call him borderline psychotic.
History: Classified (once it is unveiled, I'll post it).
Pokémon Team:
Species: Aggron
Name: Aggron
Gender: Male
Personality: The only living entity who has experienced the life of his Trainer alongside him. He has an incredibly strong, dark sense of humor, and is kind of a nihilist. He acts like a douche to everyone, likewise, and, unlike his Trainer, is prone to throwing fits.
Materials/Equipment: A BFK (Big F*cking Knife), a stone of Aggronite, a standard semi-automatic rifle, and a stealth fighter type of experimental plane.
Gender: Male
Age: 40
Rank: Major (O-4)
Position: Commanding Officer
