The Haiku Thread.

I was told by a mod to post this here, so don't go saying "WRONG FORUM XDDDDDDD", okay?

Here is where you post haikus that you made up.

I'm pretty sure everyone that frequents this forum knows what a haiku is, so I think there is no need to explain.

You should explain it,
Fanfic doesn't mean poetry
They are not the same

Always watching...
Even though I frequent this forum regularly, I don't know much about haiku other than that it's made up of three lines, so I searched an online dictionary for its definition:
1. a major form of Japanese verse, written in 17 syllables divided into 3 lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables, and employing highly evocative allusions and comparisons, often on the subject of nature or one of the seasons.
2. a poem written in this form.

So... would it be something like this?

My life, hope and dreams
Shattered by reality
Are reborn once more.

Thats where the Misc. mod told me to post this.

He told me to post it here.

The Misc Mod Does Not
Mod Fanfics In General
So Ask A Fic Mod

I hate Haiku instantly now D: so hard.

Anyways, Before posting here you should have asked a FAN.FIC.MOD..

Sheesh :/

Need to follow rules.

I was told that by my langauge art teacher that you don't need to follow the rules. Heck, some award winning Haikus don't follow rules.

I've never been a big fan of writing poetry. I had a heck of a time writing some for a Poetry and Short Stories class I had in high school. But there was a type that I had no problem with and that was haiku/short poems. Sadly, I haven't written anything about Pokemon and I only wrote three for the class and nothing since, but I think people will enjoy this one.

A wolf and rabbit
at sunrise meet. Wolf is fed.
The rabbit is dead.

Hey! I need to clarify something important here.

Haiku isn't just about the 5/7/5 structure. It talks about Nature too.

So anything that doesn't deal with nature is a Senryu.

Example of haiku:

Whispering softly
Willow trees in the winter
Sway in the cold wind.

Senryu:

I had a wet fart.
I think I need to wipe it.
Damn! I shat my pants.

Blame Language Arts curriculums. They umbrella all kinds of poems with a 5/7/5 structure under the label of haiku. Style doesn't mean much anymore in the school setting. Its more "write this this way." I think its a waste of time to do it that way, but whatever.

I was thinking of
Putting a Pokemon in
My new fic who

Likes to speak like this,
In Haiku and Senryu; it
makes good poetry
