Musical Mayhem
~Simple and Clean~
~Katalina~
I opened my eyes; blearily aware of an alarm ringing wildy beneath me. I rolled over to find myself staring down at a small oaken table topped with a golden buzzing alarm clock. It read 6:57 a.m. I felt my ears rise up in shock; I had been out like a light for the last half an hour without hearing it! I shoved my colorful quilt from my legs and slid down the ladder to the alarm clock. My roomate Kirsty was already gone; she had to leave early for swimming practice. She was an Absol hybrid after all. She swore that someday swimming would save us all. I didn't really care. I slapped the button on the alarm, it's ringing had begun to annoy me, and you DON'T want to see me when I'm annoyed.
I walked across the midnight black carpet to a mirror so I could see myself. Even though it was morning, it was still dark here, which was quite prefferable actually. Lukcily, being a Mightyena hybrid, I could see in the dark. It was the same me as always; my black hair tassled up from the night's sleep, my ruby eyes bleary from just waking up, my teeth and claws sharp enough to kill, and my Mightyena ears taking up too much space as always. Same me; same routine, same morning. I grabbed my shorts and t-shirt from the laundry shoot where the laundry came in every morning from the laundry boy. He was a Ralts hybrid; he had long shoulder length green hair and big inquisitive red eyes. I sort of had a crush on him. Okay, not really, but he WAS cute. Those red eyes were so ooh-la-la. I flicked my claws through my hair, winding each side into a perfect braid. Tying a red ribbon on each pig-tail I slid out the door, into the moonlit halway, black gym bag, (with the number Mightyena-K written on it, clearing it as 'me') around my shoulder.
I looked at my schedual for serving, hanging on the wall, written in glow-in-the-dark pen; I had lunch shift. Nice. I hated lunch shift, too many people. Luckiily, so I could go out and do a swim. The scientists treated us like little kids, well they were our parents after all. In a way anyways. They were just our foster parents; taking care of us as they went. I began to walk down the hall from my dorm room; all the dark hybrids lived up there. In the dark. The perfect home. Same old, same old. The mass e-mail screen was lit up, I looked down the list: Mawile, Francis; Mightyena, Katalina. My name was lit up. I pressed the button, carefully curving my claw, so I wouldn't scratch the screen. There was an e-mail from. RattataR@hybrid.net. I clicked on it. It said.
Family Bathroom: Meet me, 3'oclock. It's time we learned the truth. Don't tell anyone!

I cocked my head. What a crock! It would, however, get me out of math training, we were doing "Algebra" which was only needed for engineers. Me, I just need sales tax, addition, subtraction, and multiplycation to get through my day. But hey, stupid requirements.
I passed by Torkie the computer guy; he was cleaning one of the automated screens placed around the floor.. I'd heard many rumors about his strength; he was too strong to be in the army, or anywhere actually. He sort of scared me like that, but I reached out with my claw and poked his back; but he was more concerned with the repairs then me or the army. Thank Mew. I got to the golden elevator doors; and presed the down button. The doors slid open slowly, revealing a general eleveator: it had green flowery walls and corny elevator music playing in it. The light flooded into the floor, my pupils retracting quickly, allowing the blindeness to subside quickly. Same as usual. I hit the basement button; that's where the gym, pool, and rock climbing areas are located. The elevator remained open for a while longer; just to make sure that there wasn't anyone else coming on.
When I saw there wasn't, I allowed the door to slide shut, the view of the dark floor disappearing, leaving me alone with the corny elevator music.
