You know what's one Pokemon I'm looking forward to hopefully getting a buff? Dedenne, no joke. I'm hoping it gets a strong fairy-type special move because Dedenne literally has no fairy special move and it's best stat is it's special attack.

I did the little teaser mission in Sword where you catch Slowpoke in the Wedgehurst train station and meet Klara, though I couldn't help but feel Klara's character model didn't quite fit with the surroundings, she's a bit too over-detailed compared to every other character and it looks off. The other main thing I noticed about Klara other than "Awww, she cute!" is the bow in her hair kind of looks like Dustox wings in different colours, could this potentially mean Galarian Dustox is on the way?
I'm looking forward to this DLC, though I may not get it for both versions, maybe just for one.

No, but I'm assuming the free update will allow you to join people in a DLC raid online via the Y-comm so you can essentially piggy back off someone else using the expansion pack

Seriously though I’m glad they’re back personally. I love legendaries and they don’t ruin competitive for me.

To be fair there's a lot of options now that can completely negate pokemon that once dominated competitive. Landorus comes to mind and now it gets completely stomped on by Galarian Darmanitan and Corviknight.

On another note, I wonder how they'll handle Wild/Trainer Pokemon levels?
The highest level Pokemon we face are from both Hop and Leon who both range from the upper 60s to the low 70s, so could we possibly start seeing enemy Pokemon in the 70s-80s (Isle of Armor) and then 80s-90s (Crown Tundra)? Or maybe even higher since they said they're still planning future expansions?

I know we've seen Pokemon get that strong before in Gen 4, but it'd be the first time they'd be that high consistently right? I might just raise a new team because I don't wanna be too overleveled.

I'm hoping that the DLC will add more areas to properly explore, because that was one of things I missed in SwSd. The Wild Area is a lot of fun, but there's nowhere to really get lost in.

Oh yeah. One of the few exploration moments I can remember is traveling across this lake and find an Obstagoon blocking my path like a shield, reminded me of one of those high level bosses blocking off a route in Xenoblade. I hope we see more of that.

Well, Crown Tundra says it'll be more about exploration. I wonder how big the max raid dens will be like from the inside

I don't think that was even on the WA, IIRC that was on route 2

So they're doing a patch that'll increase the number of Pokemon. I guess that means they can re-add as many of the national dex as they like. Though they'll probably do so along side DLC, that can help pay for the work hours needed to make those patches. we know we're getting at least 600 of the 894 known species.

They've released Galar Slowpoke, but I want to know if the full expansion pass is out yet or not. Because if not, this gives me time to save money up to purchase it in Australia later on, maybe a week or two from now. I don't want to feel like there's a time limit to when I can get the DLC, or that by the time I get it my main team will be over-leveled. The latter, at least there's the yet to be played Sword in mind

who knows, if the dlc is popular enough and they have enough staff on hand they might do another DLC pack, beyond the first 2; and you'll get your cheese, pickles/onion, sauce, lettuce

tbh, having to pay for them separately instead of it being in the burger for the start would actually be scummy (on the other hand, I knew what the burger had before buying it, so I'll admit it's also on me)

so just what is free and what is available after paying for the DLC? i used the $40 eshop cards to get the online functions for 1 year. i didnt get any extra eshop cards but that can be fixed easily. what is available to me at this point thru general online features/trades that coincide with the DLC pack?

you're free to acquire (trades/home) and use all the new and reintroduced mon's. but catching them in game, or using new features and story content, will likely require you pay for the expansion pass.

thank you for the reply, i'll have to get the expansion pack then... i want to get the legendary pokemon in sword as it is, i also haven't really made use of any new gen8 pokemon at the moment. it doesnt help me that im also juggling evolving alot of pokemon in a 2nd hand restarted Y save file at the same time catching a few moments to play sword....

in the end nothing will be wasted, getting a 2nd switch and shield game for trade Evos is pointless. i still want to complete the gen8 pokedex at some point so the online features are needed.

I still think max raid battles could be a loop hole since we may be able to find someone doing a raid battle with a non-Galar Dex pokémon through the Y-comm & then catch it that way. I only got the expansion pass for Sword so I may try that with Shield to see if it works.

yeah though they still left out the Gligar line in the DLC but Zorua and the gen 1-2 legends do add some content that im looking for. apparently there is also some new character clothing options to look forward to.
