Yes, I think we’ve all established that it’s Sirfetch’d.
Which doesn’t thrill me because it just means GF is revealing something else from the Affleck Leak that we already knew. At this rate we’ll have only 30 new Pokémon, but they’ll defend it by saying “but we gave you 25 minimally different, situational and pointless Gigantamax forms as well!”
Yay. I guess they must be saving their energy and resources to make more than two models for the region’s evil team instead, so they can at least be taken seriously and not look like every member is a Harley Quinn cosplayer waving the exact same banner, or a fat punk rocker who lives in his mum’s basement with a massive porn stash. Oh wait... never mind.
Thankyou for posting it, I feel the same way. At this point Im more interesting in Pokemon Masters than Swsh heheI'm frustrated by how little has been revealed as well,. I think Gamefreak's/Nintendo's advertising team is being so limited in what is being revealed this time for a combination of a couple issues, or at least what they perceived as issues to the past reveal cycles. First being, there are those who say too much was revealed in advance of Sun and Moon. I personally say that group is crazy. If you don't want various aspects to be spoiled, then cut yourself off from social media in the months leading up to the games. I understand that is hard, but a larger majority of people like seeing the reveals, and part of the hype experience is being cut down. Are there preferences as to what specifically most people want revealed, of course, new Pokemon/forms is preferred over story.

Second being, Gamefreak/Nintendo has been burned in the past by leaks/datamines. Which is also why demos played thus far have had little info.
That is complete and utter nonsense. Along with, again, being pessimistic for the sake of being pessimistic because it's obvious you hate these games and feel that GameFreak is incompetent, 30 new Pokemon this generation has already been deconfirmed.Yes, I think we’ve all established that it’s Sirfetch’d.

Only that's not being realistic. The best thing is to keep spoilers under spoiler tags. Then people who like that stuff can view it, and anyone who doesn't can avoid them. And it's helpful in case someone makes an accidental click into a thread they're trying to avoid. It happens sometimes via mobile.I'm frustrated by how little has been revealed as well, but I don't think it's representative on many new Pokemon/Galar Forms/Regional Evolutions will be in Sword and Shield. Omg I fully agree.. Gen 7 had TOO MANY single staged Pokemon.1000000% Agree
But i wonder if this 'revealed too much' statement is really main reason for this... worst case is there are only a few to be revealed and my biggest fear is all the pokemons revealed so far are 1 stage pokemon....
well ... more then dozen of them in gen 7: bruxish , comfey, passimion, oranguru, drampa, minior, komala , tornornator, dhelmise, wishiwashi, pyukumuku, mimikyu and etc.
it is possible tho...
Putting aside your needless snark about a thing you don't like, I'd like to reiterate, I think it's likely that the reason we're not seeing much other than what was in the Affleck leak is likely because the Affleck leak arose from the poster seeing chiefly what was planned for pre-release reveals (with some exemptions such as Eternatus, who like its forebears is unlikely to be revealed pre-release). The fact that the news cycle has lined up with the leak is no indication of how much content there is or isn't in the game.Which doesn’t thrill me because it just means GF is revealing something else from the Affleck Leak that we already knew. I don't really think there's any statistical basis to throw around the idea that it's a 'minority' that wanted less revealed. Fair enough if you disagree, but, as WishIhadaManfi5 points out, if you engage in any kind of fandom circles, or even just follow people who are also pokemon fans on twitter, it's near impossible to keep things concealed for yourself. And a lot of us don't -want- to not participate in the discussion and speculation of the news that's been revealed, we just want there to be some more left over in the final game for us to discover. You may not be particularly hyped now, and to an extent, I agree, but while I loved Sun and Moon, and they're my second favourite games of the series, I can't deny that I was disappointed by how little content there was left for me to discover. I think it also makes the number of new pokemon feel smaller if so many of them have been shown off before the games release - by the time you get the game they feel familiar and you lose some of the wonder of finding and experimenting with new members of your team. Again, this is personal preference, but I'd rather we have some news, maybe a smidge more than currently but not far off, to keep us speculating and build the flavour of the games, and leave a good 3rd of the new pokemon for us to discover in game.I'm frustrated by how little has been revealed as well, but I don't think it's representative on many new Pokemon/Galar Forms/Regional Evolutions will be in Sword and Shield. I think honestly what we miss nowadays is the context-less pokemon reveals. We don't get stuff like the trailers of the Black/White era, where new pokemon would appear in them and you wouldn't get any more info on them for months, but there'd be enough for you to be speculating on their typing, stage, and a whole wealth of other things. Enough info for people to plan teams based on designs that appeal to them, but little enough that there's a real excitement about what they could turn out to be. The pivot to the more centralised and global means of promotion means that when we get news, we get a fuller picture, so when a pokemon is revealed before the games are released, all I usually have to discover about them is their movesets, and the closest we get to these kinds of mysteries is stuff like those pokemon statues, or squirrels on t-shirts, which, while nice, don't quite match the joy of seeing a full sprite of an unknown pokemon. For me, Sirfetch'd reveal gets closer to that level, and I really appreciate that tactic. Though I do wish they'd kept it up with some more pixelated arts as the days had gone on.
To be fair they cant really do much about the leak. They "don't" control that (Lets be real some leaks are highly calculated leaks directly from the source) so GF "Revealing" something that shouldnt exist to the public in the first place is subjective... Plus if the leak did not exist most people would have lost interest and if everything on that leak was wrong people would throw it out like any other leak so cant blame GF/Pokemon. They obviously sit on the internet and forums reading whats going on, its all calculated. The pokemon twitter tweeted about ash and all that has not even aired in the west yet but they knew the internet was excited, even news sites like CNN tweeted and made a whole article about it. But I get what youre saying. There is also new information that they changed up their marketing campaign. up and learned from revealing everything for sun and moon. Can they show more than what they have sure but maybe if they did it in away of like over 90 new pokemon to discover and left it at that would be good enough. Then show like 10 or so more newish pokemon with 1 being EVEE and like the regional bird and rodent and then just leave the rest to be a surprise. This makes competition fresh and makes you want to catch everything. I think if they just revealed vauge info like the example of how many pokemon we will see in the game people will be just fine.
I mean, I think the starter issue is a special case, as I imagine there are a great number of people who want to know how the starters turn out so they can make an informed decision on who to pick, and not be disappointed by poor typing/design down the line, that might care less so about every other pokemon in the dex. While there are certainly a number of are in the camp of 'I want to know everything so I can plan my team', I think there's also a significant number for whom this only really applies to the starters, as the one pokemon they intend to keep as a constant throughout the game. And they can't easily work around if they pick the wrong one - even if you trade for a different starter, you're still going to have any in-game pre-programmed dialogue refer to the one you actually chose, which makes it a much more pressing decision. No statistical basis you say... I'd point to the poll Gamefreak/Pokemon put out to their Japanese audience about whether or not the Starter Evolutions should be revealed soon or held off until the game launches, in which a wide solid majority responded they should be revealed soon, I'd say that is enough statistical basis. You put that same question, or any question asking should "blah blah blah new Pokemon be revealed soon, or held off until the games come out, I can guarantee you that the results will be the same, from any subset audience. I suspect that poll itself was meant as a weather-vane on a sentiment that Gamefreak/Nintendo probably thought has been building among its audience for a while now.

To be clear, I think the issue is less how much gets reveled in the hype cycle - yes, if you asked pokemon fans now, I bet 90% would say 'Yeah, give me more info!'. The issue is more how much is left in the game after the fact. I'd happily take more info now, but not if we're going to end up with only 2-3 new pokemon lines that I haven't seen before the game releases. And if I have to take less info now to be able to walk onto a route and have a chance of finding 1-2 completely brand new pokemon, that I can get excited about in the moment, I'll take that trade.
The Sirfetch'd leak could also be an accidental release of an incomplete page.I don’t think so. Huge difference between an official company accidentally spilling the beans, so you know 100% it’s true, and a leaker, which even if it’s accurate, most aren’t going to trust it.
That's very much not the case. They wouldn't program it to appear on the front page, have the rotom cry, or have left the tweet up, if it was accidental. This was an intentional partial reveal. What's surprising if they haven't made any in-fiction comment, along the lines of 'Oh no, Rotom messed with our research data!'. But it's definitely not some accident, or else the some action would have been taken to counteract it.The Sirfetch'd leak could also be an accidental release of an incomplete page.

It was clearly intentional, you don't create a unique art for something and then create an animated GIF to block stuff off as a place holder. I'm more likely to see (PH)Sirnite if it wasn't intentional. That's very much not the case.
