The Knight Encountered in the Ruins (102)

Looking back on that episode (HZ057), I genuinely don't feel like they originally intended to bring back Charcadet and Gimmighoul and have them join the main cast, but I still admire the writing staff for taking that one episode they could have easily forgotten and building upon it in a cool way. One of the many reasons I greatly respect HZ's writing despite some of its major issues.

Fun fact: this episode aired almost exactly one year after the one in which Charcadet and Gimmighoul debuted (Episode 57, A Terapagos I Don't Know, aired on July 5th 2024, so the exact same week last year of this one).
...That isn't fun! It should've happened THEN! Not NOW!

One really small thing that slightly bothered me about the capture, is that we haven't seen the other three protagonist's reaction to Liko's new Pokemon. They were too brainwashed by Gimmighoul to notice that Liko had a new Pokemon with her in that moment, and then in the next scene they were back on the ship, discussing what Liko saw about the effects of the Strong Spheres. I suppose she introduced it to the others in off-screen, but I'd liked to see it on-screen (yeah, it's not a big deal, but I'd liked to see it).

It would be funny if Liko pulls out a Friede where they don’t realize she has a Charcadet and until she sends out and when they question her about it she is like “didn’t I mention that”. lol XD:p

You know sort of like how Friede use to do.

I mean, Charcadet was still out of its Pokeball when Liko came back to her friends. I think, they'd have to be pretty blind to not notice it after Gimmighoul stopped controlling them and ran away.

Well, well! This episode felt so good to me. Personally, it accomplished the two things what I most wanted:

-Charcadet's capture becoming reality, after working together in a battle and it aknowledging Liko's determination of protect the others (also, I like how Charcadet is truly a knight in personality, kneeling over and having a "cute but also serious little guy" protective actitude)

-The scene that PokéDoko teased about Liko and Dot not being an out of context pic, as It actually was about Dot remembering what Liko did back in HZ013 so she could have a picnic even inside the Brave Asagi <3 (Yeah, I may have been paranoid, but It's because I yearned for a Liko-Dot sweet interaction for a while... More so after Dot did tell Sazare the reason she went world outside was meeting Friede and the ship, when actually was Liko who did the most for her XD)

And about the Dot vs Penny battle... I can agree that It wasn't her best battle, the animation was meh and Quaxwell after evolution has not been treated too well in individual feats. However, I think is simply that Penny did have there both superior strenght and strategy that Dot... Who had the bad luck of being challenged without preparation and when she ressorted to defeat Sylveon in the end to prevent more use of its ability, she lost in terms of power.

She should have utilized tinkatuff more against sylveon.. while quaxwell dealt with flareon so that quaxwell wouldn't be affected from sylveon cute charm

Yeah, It would be the most logical action in type advantages... But from what happenned, maybe Dot felt overconfident in attacking directly after hammering the ground?
I don't know why she did all this in the end, but that's the explanation I can found.

As of this episode kilowattrel is the only one to not tera out of the whole maincast. Kinda sad... hoping it gets to shine soon.

Loved charcadet. The way it sat on its knee. True knight. Armourouge definetly incoming
Liko now has my fav gen 9 legendary, my fav gen 9 starter, my fav gen 9 non startermon lol

I have to be honest thought: I... didn't expect Liko (or any of the protagonists for that matter), to catch a fourth Pokemon. Before this episode started being teased two weeks ago, given how strict Horizons seems to be for the secondary Pokemon's screentime, I was expecting the protagonists to have no more than three Pokemon for each one, even thought the current arc has done a better job in giving the secondary mons more importance. Before this episode was revealed, the whole idea of any of them having four or more Pokemon never passed in my head, and I was pretty much sure that they would just developing/evolving the ones they already have (especially since I don't think Horizons will have more than 50-60 more eps... assuming it will end when the next generation starts)
