Raiders of the Lost Ark
So my parents pretty much got me to sit down and watch it for the first time, and I'll be honest, I don't see what's so great about the movie. I don't know if it's because everything about it (or at least the better parts) are just about everywhere, so it was rather predictable, but what I do know is I didn't care about any of the characters (if I could remember who they were), I didn't care for the action, I didn't care about the music... the only thing I was really impressed about were the melting faces, that's really about it. I'm close to saying the Nazis were the best thing about the movie for me, except not even the Nazis did much until around the third act. They were pretty much killed at the end because they're Nazis, there was nothing you saw on-screen that they did to deserve such punishment outside of "Ha ha, we got the Ark of the Covenant for our Führer, we shall be invincible!" or something like that.
I'm pretty much more-or-less indifferent about it, I don't see what's great or bad about the film except I wasn't that entertained. I wasn't bored, even though I felt the film dragged, but I didn't find any enjoyment out of it. Maybe if I had actually seen it as a kid like everyone else, I might have enjoyed it. Really, I think the Indiana Jones Adventure ride at Disneyland is more enjoyable and entertaining than the films it's based off of.
