THE LEGEND OF CELEBI
Ahhh... I told myself I would post this here in May so I guess I will now... *sigh*
I've been working on this fic since October 2004 and I guess it's about time to start sharing it with people. I posted it on FF.net (my username on there is blossomi) a couple months ago, so if you want to read ahead or anything, feel free... though it's only a few chapters ahead. As of today (5/21) I have written thirteen chapters so far.
I'm extremely shy about my work, so please don't bite my head off with reviews or anything. xD This is my very first Pokemon fanfic. Just so you know, there are a lot of characters and it is pretty long, I'm not exactly sure on this, but I'm thinking it will end up being around fifty chapters. And each chapter averages about 4200 words (and in later chapters, probably even more) so... yup.
This is an OT fic. Yeeah. It is set in my made-up (YES, made-up :O) region, Dione. The trainers do not go after badges, instead in order to compete in the Pokemon League they must obtain six gems that are scattered in certain places all over Dione. In many of the towns there is a Gym, to be exact a TEST Gym, in which they must battle the leader to prove they are worthy of the gem. If they win, the leader tells them where the gem they must get is, and then it's up to the trainer to find it. (For example, one of the gems is in a cave.)
Overall, I just want to improve my writing a bit and FINISH this freaking story that I've been working forever on. I'm making a promise to myself that I WILL finish this story even if it takes me years. XD I have it all planned out, and I really want to write it all the way through. Anyway, getting better is what it's all about isn't it?
RATING: I'm giving this story a rating of PG-13. In early chapters it's mostly PG, but I'm making it overall PG-13 because in the later chapters it gets really dark, and there is a LOT of swearing. So yeah.
Disclaimer: I don't own Pokemon, blahblahlabla.
Synopsis: Five thousand years ago, Celebi foresaw an event that could devastate the world forever...
Fourteen-year-old Kendal Hutton is just like any normal trainer, but once she discovers that she and nine other people are involved in a Legendary prophecy, she and her friends struggle to realize their destinies and their purpose in the revelation. While fighting off Team Rocket and Squadron C, they must deal with every issue that comes with being a trainer... and a teenager, for that matter. Whether it be relationships, training, dealing with a mysterious person who seems to be stalking them on-line, or even living... their lives will change in ways they never thought possible.
This fic basically fits into all genres... but for the most part I'm putting it into the General category.
OH and another thing. There are Legendaries. A lot of them appear in the first chapter. XDDD But don't worry, they go away...

Well, here it is, the first chapter. Ew. I hate the first one. *barfs* Well, enjoy. xDD

The Legend of Celebi
Chapter 1: Runaway
She awoke suddenly, her forehead burning and sweat dripping from her face. She turned her head to the side to catch a glance at the clock. It was three o'clock in the morning.
She had been thinking about it for a long time. At first jokingly, but now she was seriously considering it. It would be dangerous, and maybe even worrisome to the people in her life, but she didn't want to continue living like she was for who knew how long.
The girl rubbed her eyes hard with both of her hands, listening to the sound of the water in great big fountain splashing down endlessly from outside in the back yard. The dim green light that was being produced from the digital clock was enough to help her make her way across her room and out into the hallway. She pondered about what she was about to do for a few moments, and then she decided she would do it.
She got out of bed silently, not making a noise from even the mattress, which usually squeaked when she moved around on it. The hard wood floors were cold on her bare feet as she slowly tiptoed across her bedroom. She didn't know why she was being so careful, since there was no way anyone would hear her, but she wanted to make sure. She bent down at the doorway, picking up a backpack full of everything she would need. She had thought ahead, as she always did. Now the only thing left to get was some money. And she knew exactly where she could find it.
Opening the door was the tricky part, since the house was old and everything in it looked like it was about to break. She turned the knob and opened the door extremely fast so it would make hardly any squeaking noise. She made her way down the hall; the only sound was the sound of her feet softly thumping against the floor. She started down the stairs, grabbing onto the railing tightly with both of her hands. She couldn't risk making any noise now. With a backpack on her back and her stealthily going down the stairs, if someone were to come out of their bedroom, she would get in trouble… Perhaps more than just trouble.
When she finally got all the way downstairs, the turned left and went down a hallway. The floors were carpeted there, so she didn't have to be so cautious while walking. She went past several rooms until she came to the end of the hallway, where one last room stood in front of her. The door was opened, so she went right in, and spotted a file cabinet in the far corner of the room. She tried to pull it open, but it was locked. This was no problem, for she knew exactly where the key was located.
The girl walked over to a desk on the other side of the room, pulled it open, and dug around in it until she found a tiny silver key. Then she went over to the file cabinet and unlocked it. Inside was cash - lots of it. She didn't know whom her father knew or what he really did at his 'job', but she knew whatever he did was somehow illegal and that he got lots and lots of cash for doing it. She grabbed a handful of one hundred dollar bills and stuffed them in her pocket. Her father would never notice they were missing.
She locked the file cabinet back up and then let out a deep sigh. She was ready to go. There were so many things she couldn’t bring with her that she wanted to. After taking a good long look at the house she would probably never see again, she slowly opened the window in the office and slipped out into the cold dark night.
The girl bounded behind some bushes and zipped open her backpack, taking her normal clothes out. She was still in her nightgown, so after dressing properly for the cold night weather, she took out her cell phone and dialed a number she knew too well. After a few rings, she heard a voice on the other end of the line.
"Yeah, what is it?" a tired voice yawned.
"Zach, it's me... I'm ready. Now come and meet me, I'm right outside of my house!" she hissed.
There was a pause, and she heard shuffling in the background. "Oh, Kendal... all right, I'll be there in a minute. Hold on, I've got to get dressed."
"Okay, hurry!" Kendal replied, and she then ended the call, sticking her phone back into her backpack. She ran her fingers through her straight and long light brown hair, which she had forgotten to comb. As she waited for her friend to come, she suddenly heard a noise coming from the bushes around her. She almost screamed, but fortunately held it in. She jumped back, looking at the bushes hard, trying to make out what was making the sound. When she thought whatever it was had gone away, a small fox Pokemon jumped out of the bushes.
"Eevee!" it said, wagging its tail playfully. It looked up at Kendal with its big black eyes, smiling as it always did.
"Oh, Eevee, it's just you," Kendal sighed, as she crouched down, patting him on the head. "I'm sorry, but I'm leaving." Eevee frowned and started to whine. "I know, I know... but it's for the best. I can't keep living here with John and Mary, I just don't feel right here. It's time I go out on my own and do things that I want to do."
"Kendal!" Came a voice from behind her. She looked behind her shoulder and saw that it was Zach. He smiled at her as he approached her and Eevee, his blonde hair ruffled and his shoes untied as usual.
"Eevee, I know you'll miss me, and I'll miss you. I probably will never see you again, but I'll always remember you! I have to go now, Eevee... bye," Kendal whispered, waving to the little Pokemon, as she ran off into the darkness with Zach.
Zach smiled, looking out into the dark street ahead of them. He was glad that he lived next-door to her. Their neighborhood was a nice one, with plenty of beautiful flowers and trees planted everywhere. It certainly was a pleasant one to walk through, even in the middle of the night. "So, you finally decided. I knew you would sooner or later."
"Yeah, I finally got fed up with John and all of his 'work'... it just started to freak me out, so I wanted to get out of there," Kendal explained.
"Oh. Yeah, he always seemed suspicious to me. Wonder what he really did... Hmm... Anyway, are you still bummed about ditching school? I know it's your life and whatever," Zach said, his lips curling into a smile, as he looked over at Kendal, whose face suddenly looked sorrow. "Oh. All right, I guess I shouldn't talk about Westport Pokemon Academy anymore," he smirked.
Kendal frowned. School was very important to her. She loved learning about Pokemon; she wanted to know as much as she could. She had the top grades in her class, and always went out of the way to do extra credit or do something extraordinary for a big project. She was also a very skilled battler, whenever the class had matches she nearly always won. She was convinced that she knew almost everything there was to know about Pokemon. After all, she checked-out information books about Pokemon from the library ever since she was a little girl, and read them just for fun. To Kendal, learning was a very fun and important thing. To Zach, it was a joke.
Kendal admitted that she was going to miss her classmates, the Pokemon she trained, and the professors. But she knew that running away was the best choice at this point, as silly as it sounded. She just didn't need school anymore, as far as she was concerned. She was brighter than even the smarter students a couple grades ahead of her.
Her parents, John and Mary, wanted her to finish Pokemon School completely, which meant she would have to stick around in the town of Westport for two more years, but she couldn't wait that long. She had to get out now. She didn't think it was fair anyway, that she had to finish Pokemon School, since it was only optional to take classes for that long. The most the students needed to learn before going on a journey of their own was four years, and she had already had five. She had been going to the Pokemon Academy since she was eight years old, a year earlier than most trainers started attending Pokemon Schools, which meant that most trainers started their journey when they were thirteen years old. She and Zach were fourteen.
"I decided that this was the best thing," Kendal finally said. "But anyway, changing the subject... where are we going?"
Zach coughed. "Well... first, we should get out of Westport and get to Redgrove so we can get our trainer ID's and all that stuff. Then, we can get catch some Pokemon and we'll be well on our way. Sound good?"
Kendal nodded. She could hardly wait to challenge the Test Gym Leaders and finally become a trainer. She learned in school that in order to participate in the official Dione Pokemon League, one must collect six gems of Dione by challenging the Leaders at Test Gyms. If they win, the Leader tells them where one of the gems of Dione is and they must go and get it for themselves.
In order to get out of Westport and into Redgrove, they would have to go through a small forest, where there would be lots of Pokemon. She knew it was dangerous to go into places where Pokemon could be without your very own Pokemon to protect yourself, but the forest was small, and she had to take a chance. After all, it would be impossible to catch a Pokemon in Westport because the wild Pokemon population was so scarce you probably wouldn't be able to find one anyway.
They continued down the street until they came to the end of the neighborhood. This was where they would have to go through the mile-long forest to Redgrove. There was a tall fence in front of them, but it could easily be jumped. After climbing over it, Zach grabbed a flashlight out of his backpack and shined it in front of him as Kendal hoisted herself over the fence as well. She got out her flashlight too, and then they continued on into the dark forest where freedom awaited them.
Kendal looked over at Zach as they walked together in the darkness, lighting their pathway with the flashlights they grasped in their hands. His blonde hair was messy but cute and freckles were splattered on his cheeks. He was wearing a black sweatshirt and blue jeans, and was shivering as they walked. Kendal always saw him as cute, though she never actually liked him more than a friend. He was her first friend when she moved to Westport, and he had always been there for her when no one else was. They were as close as she had been with anyone ever before.
The forest was quite eerie. All the dark trees around them made shivers run up and down Kendal's spine as they went through the trees, hoping that they were headed in the right direction. After a while, Zach pulled out his compass just to make sure they were headed towards Redgrove, and they were.
The squishing sound of the damp ground made Kendal's stomach turn with every step she took. She grabbed a hold of Zach's arm when they started to get farther away from Westport and the light of the small town. The forest was indeed getting darker and more frightening by the moment. Kendal's heart was beating rapidly, as she waited for a Pokemon to pop out at her at any moment. But if one did, she was sure that she would be able to fight it off with a stick or two-- as long as the Pokemon didn't attack her in a group. But she put her studies to use and remembered that powerful Pokemon usually don't live in tiny forests like the one they were in.
They walked for a while longer, making their way through the trees with the only source of light coming from their small flashlights. After a few more minutes of walking, Kendal was quite sure that they must have almost been all the way through the forest. Only a little longer until she was free from all of the problems she had in her life. Only a little longer until she was able to make her own choices and do what she wanted. Only a little longer until she could start an adventure of her own.
Kendal nearly screamed when she saw that a small green caterpillar with large yellow eyes was right in front of her path. It had a red Y-shaped antennae growing from its head, right between its piercing eyes that were staring hard at her. Startled at first, by the fact that it could have been a powerful and more frightening bug Pokemon, Kendal realized that it was just a Caterpie, a virtually harmless Pokemon to humans, as long as they didn't make the tiny caterpillars mad. She walked around it and then continued through the forest with Zach.
They both were pleased that their journey through the small forest had been quite a safe one when they could see the lights of Redgrove City illuminating the starry sky in the distance. They were just a mile or so away from the city that would mark the start of their new lives. Kendal could hardly wait, and Zach went a bit farther ahead down the path just to make sure they were nearing the end of the forest, while Kendal stayed behind, not wanting to run in the muddy mush on the ground just to catch up with him.
"Oof!" Kendal groaned. She had tripped on a tree root, which was sticking up from the ground. She landed flat on her face, and her flashlight flew out of her hands, landing a few feet away from her, also turning off in the process. Feeling around the damp and mossy ground, in the pitch-black darkness, she tried to locate her only source of light. She felt around for a few seconds, until she put her hand on something right in front of her. She froze, and rubbed her hand against the vertical object. It was long and had sharp hairs sticking out of it. She moved her hand up a little. It felt like some kind of leg… She screamed, and kicked around, then managed to find the flashlight just in time. She snatched it and scrambled up to her feet. She then ran as fast as she could, straight ahead. She was shaking in fear, and had no idea where she was going, as she couldn't see Zach anywhere ahead of her, but she just wanted to get away from whatever she had just been touching. Suddenly, she ran into something sticky. Her hands were glued to it, and she couldn’t move. She screamed again, trying to break free of the gooeyness she was stuck to. "ZACH!" she screamed. "HELP!"
“Ari,” Kendal heard something whisper in her ear. She gasped, and wiggled around in the sticky stretchy goop again. She figured she had got trapped in a bunch of String Shot from the bug Pokemon. Kendal heard several other mysterious cries as she tried to break free, awaiting Zach's help. Tears started to stream down her face. She sat down on the ground, her hands still hanging up, attached to the sticky wall in front of her. Just then, she saw a blinding flash of light run through the forest at an incredible speed. She squinted, looking around, as her eyes adjusted to the light, wondering what it could have been. She looked up and caught a glimpse of what she was caught on to. It was just as she had predicted it had been: a thick, gooey clump of spider web. She groaned, and another light flashed. She looked around, noticing many Pokemon around her. The light went off again before she could make out what kinds of Pokemon were there.
"ZACH!" she screamed with every ounce of energy she had. "ZACH!"
"Kendal, where are you?" she heard his voice coming from somewhere behind her, and the squishy footsteps getting closer to her.
"Over here!" she called, hoping that he would hear her voice and run in the right direction.
She heard the Pokemon moving around again, and she cringed, shutting her eyes tightly. After a few moments, she opened her eyes a little, and the light flashed around her again. About twenty gigantic spiders with long, hairy purple and yellow striped legs crowded around her. They had red bodies, with two black stripes strung across their lower abdomen and neck. They also had a long horn sticking out of their foreheads, and two sharp fangs growing out of their mouths. Kendal shrieked, and the light went off again. She realized that what she had felt that was long and hairy were those Ariados’ legs. She shook, and chills ran up and down her spine. The light came on again, and she looked up into the top of the trees, trying her best to ignore the Ariados around her. There were hundreds of round little brown owls, perched up on the thick branches of the trees. Their eyes were glowing red, and they had only one foot. Their eyes stopped glowing suddenly, and then light went away once again. The light came right back on, once the owl’s eyes glowed red again, and this time it stayed on.
Kendal looked behind her shoulder. Hundreds of Pokemon were crowded around her. A couple of rats with one big whisker on either side of its nose scampered over to her. They were a dark purple color, and white on their tummy, nose, and face. They also had two large teeth bulging out from their mouths. Rattata. The two rats freed her from the spider web’s grasp by using their huge sharp teeth to chomp the web in half. Kendal got up to her feet, and looked around at all of the Pokemon around her, trying to break the spider web that was still connecting her two hands together like handcuffs. The Rattata soon took care of that one too.
The Pokemon in the middle of the crowd moved to the side, and Kendal walked down the path they had made for her, and gasped when she saw what was lying on the ground. She stepped up to it, and kneeled down beside it. Blood trickled down its chest, from a large hole where it had apparently been shot. The beast was a giant yellow dog with two black stripes on each of its hind legs, and going down the rest of its body. It also had a strange shaped silver tail, with a little spiked ball at the end of it. It had white fur on its chest and face, and two large fangs and two big whiskers on either side of its nose. A big purple feathery puff of fur grew out from the back of its neck. Its eyes were screwed shut, and it looked like it was in a lot of pain. Kendal was surprised when she remembered that this Pokemon was one of the three Legendary Dogs, which she had learned about in her Legendary Studies class in school. Kendal looked up, and was shocked to see two more gigantic dogs standing behind the injured one, looking down at her.
One of them had fluffy brown fur, and red spikes sticking out from its face. It also had a black heavy brace on each of its four legs. It had a white shiny puff flowing out from behind its neck, and two sharp white feather-looking parts poking out from each side of its body. She recognized it as Entei.
The other one was light blue in color, and it had a big diamond shape growing on top of its forehead. On its back was what looked like a giant purple cloud, and one silky white ribbon flowed gracefully around it on each side of its body. It had a small mouth, which was white. The dog was taller than Kendal by about a foot and a half when she was crouched down. It scowled at her. She stood up hesitantly and backed up, bumping into some of the large Ariados. The blue dog’s face softened, and it looked down at the injured yellow dog, and back up at Kendal. She cocked her eyebrow.
“You want me to help it, don’t you?” she asked the blue dog. It nodded. She kneeled down in front of the injured Pokemon, grimacing at its wound. “But… I don’t know how… I don’t have much experience with Pokemon,” she explained. “How did this happen?”
“Sui…” The blue dog whined, looking up into the sky. It howled loudly, and the injured dog’s eyes started to open. It howled as well, and so did Entei. All of the Pokemon surrounding them started to cry as well.
“Kendal!” Zach breathed, running up to her and the other Pokemon. “What’s going on?”
“I… don’t know… I don’t know how to help it… What should we do?” she inquired, pointing to the wound on the yellow dog. It looked like a bullet wound, but Kendal had no idea how to help it. She had never had much experience in nursing Pokemon, let alone a gigantic Legendary one. Zach shrugged, and kneeled down beside her. The Pokemon’s cries echoed through the forest. Kendal heard rain start to pound on the tops of the trees. Suddenly, a bright beam of light flashed right by Kendal, and a few seconds later, a Pokemon appeared in its place. It was very tiny, and was a white color, with a big yellow crown-looking item on its head, with three spikes coming out of it, one on the top, and one on each of the left and right sides. On top of each of these spikes was one small rectangular teal-colored ornament, hanging from the peak of the spike. It had a pair of tiny beady black eyes, and had a small lower body, with teeny arms and legs. It also had two golden silky wing-looking objects flowing behind it from its back. Kendal learned in school that this Pokemon was Jirachi, yet another Legendary Pokemon, and was amazed to see it floating right beside her.
“Chi…” The Pokemon said. It appeared to be sleeping, but was still hovering in front of the injured dog, beside Kendal. “Jira… CHI!” It screeched. All of a sudden, it got dark, and it started to glow. The injured Pokemon started to glow as well. Then, millions of lights that looked like twinkling little stars appeared throughout the forest. Kendal felt something moving behind her. She turned her head, and saw a creature, about two feet in height, floating there. It was green, and had two blue antennae growing from its forehead. It had a pair of big amazing blue eyes, with a thick black color lining around them. Big feet stuck out of its small body. Its arms and hands were small though, and it had a pair of tiny white wings on its back. Kendal knew that it was Celebi. It floated beside Kendal, next to Jirachi, who looked like it was still asleep.
“Celebi!” The green Pokemon cried, and several yellow balls spun around it. It aimed its hands at the injured Pokemon. The golden spheres flew at the dog, and started to spin around it. Soon the balls started to shrink, and what was left of the spheres got absorbed into the injured dog.
“Rai…” The yellow dog groaned, moving around. Kendal realized that Celebi had healed Raikou a little. Just then, all of the little stars that had been in the air, aimlessly wandering about, moved in towards the dog, and stuck right on its wound. After a few moments, the lights faded, but Kendal could still see the shadow of the giant beast stand up. All of the Pokemon cheered, and then the lights turned back on. Kendal looked behind her shoulder to see that Celebi and Jirachi had disappeared. Then, the red and yellow dogs ran away. The blue dog stayed back, and looked at Kendal hard in the eye. It murmured its name, and smiled at her, then bounded off into the forest.
“What the hell just happened?” Zach said, standing up.
“I don’t know… But whatever it was…” Kendal started, but was interrupted by the sound of a gunshot racing through the woods. All of the other Pokemon scurried away, leaving Kendal and Zach alone.
“Hey, you,” They heard a voice say.
“Run!” Zach shouted, and dashed through the woods. The lights suddenly turned off, though Kendal was still pondering about what was producing them, leaving her with no light, as she had lost her flashlight in all of the commotion. The two teens could hear people running after them in the darkness. Kendal looked behind her shoulder and saw that the people chasing them had lights. The two friends kept on running, until they suspected they had lost them.
“We lost ‘em, Zach… Zach?” She breathed, leaning against a tree trunk, frantically looking around for her friend, who there seemed to be no trace of. “Where are you?”
“Help!” Kendal heard Zach shout. She looked from behind the tree at where Zach was. Three people in black suits were carrying him away. The suits had a big red ‘R’ on the front of them, and other people with the same uniforms were shining flashlights through the forest, obviously looking for Kendal. She hid back behind the tree.
“Did you see a giant yellow dog?” Kendal heard one of the people ask Zach. She couldn’t hear what anybody else said, because the people started to run out of the forest, carrying Zach with them. Kendal gasped, breathing hard. She didn’t know what to do. She didn’t have a flashlight anymore, and she was alone. She slumped down to the ground and started to cry.
“Mew.”
Kendal gasped, looking around.
“Mew,” She heard the voice again. It was very high-pitched and sounded as if it was coming from a tiny person… or Pokemon. It was getting closer to her.
“Who are you?” Kendal demanded, standing up, trying to look through the pitch-black darkness.
“Mew!” The voice said again. Suddenly, a bright light started to glow right in front of her. Kendal could see a small pink feline Pokemon floating with the light illuminating around it. It had a very long tail, but was very small. It had two big light blue eyes, and a pair of pointy ears that grew on the top of its head. The light got brighter around it. “Mew,” It said again.
“Mew?” Kendal asked, touching the Pokemon slightly. She knew all about Mew, and from the previous events that had just happened, she admitted that she wasn’t as shocked to have seen it as she would have if she hadn’t have just seen five other legendaries before it.
“Mew,” it nodded, playfully pointing to itself.
“C-Can you help me get out of here?” she questioned, shaking slightly.
“Mew!” Mew smiled, and put its hand on hers. It kept a tight grasp of her hand as it led her through the forest, a small supply of light illuminating around it. It seemed like forever to Kendal, walking through the forest in the darkness, with a strange Pokemon holding on to her hand, and leading the way. Kendal kept walking, and Mew kept floating, and suddenly Mew’s light died. Kendal took another step forward, and tried to look around in the darkness, to see where they were.
“Where are we? Why are we stopping?” Kendal asked, still grasping Mew’s arm.
“Mew,” Mew said, and floated down to the ground, breaking its grip on her arm. Its light came on again, and Kendal saw that it had picked up a small berry with its other hand. It popped it in its mouth, and picked another berry off of a bush. It held it up to Kendal, who took it and stuffed it in her mouth, thanking Mew with a grateful smile.
Mew grabbed her hand again, and this time it was flying through the forest very quickly. Kendal had to almost sprint to keep up with it. Soon, Kendal and Mew had made it out of the forest. Mew giggled and flew around her.
“Thanks a lot,” Kendal said to the little Pokemon.
“Mew,” it responded, and pointed over to a city in the distance. The few lights in it were glowing like stars in space. Kendal smiled at Mew, and looked over at Redgrove. “Mew, Mew, Mew Mew!” Mew said.
“I hope I see you again… thank you,” Kendal grinned. Mew smiled once more, and then flew up into the dim sky, its long and skinny tail trailing behind it, whipping around in the wind.
Kendal had no idea what had just happened, or why, or how, for that matter. She was astonished to have encountered six rare Pokemon in just one night. She read in all of her textbooks that to see a Legendary Pokemon was a blessing, and that there had only been a few sightings worldwide of Mew, Celebi, and Jirachi. Maybe she was just lucky? Or maybe it was fate… Kendal wasn’t sure she believed in fate, though the whole situation was quite mind-boggling for the girl. She wondered what had happened to Zach as she walked towards Redgrove city, and how she was ever going to find him. That is, if she was ever going to find him at all. She sighed, as she knew that evil organizations like Team Rocket usually killed the people they questioned. But she tried to push it out of her mind as her heart beat faster, knowing that she might possibly lose her best friend in the world. But all she could do was pray. Pray for his safety and pray that Mew and all of the Legendaries had blessed her. Maybe they would look after Zach?
Kendal had nearly reached the big sign that read “Welcome to Redgrove City” in big bold crimson letters when she heard something whining on the side of the road. She spun around, trying to make out what – and where – it was with the light that was being shed upon her from the city lights, and then she saw it. Kendal ran towards it, immediately recognizing it as a Charmander. She scooped it up off of the ground, inspecting it. It had scratches on its face and all down its body, and Kendal wondered what it had been beaten with. The flame on its tail was hardly burning, and she learned in school that in order to stay alive, it had to be kept aflame. She gasped, and started to walk quickly towards the entrance of the city, where she saw a Pokemon Center just outside the gates.
