Topic:

Now do you think that remakes for the following games shall be released someday?

Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy VIII
Final Fantasy IX

Answer:

Depends on what game. I could see remakes for Final Fantasy VIII and Final Fantasy IX, but I'm curious about VII. If it is going to be remade, it'd be apart of the Compilation, but nothing has been revealed on it yet. Also, when the Tech Demo was released for Final Fantasy VII, Tetsuya Nomura said that he was merely testing the power of the Playstation 3 and that he doubts if he'd have the time to actually go on with it. But it is an interesting idea. If you want more information on the Final Fantasy VII Tech Demo, click here. But when you think about it, Final Fantasy VIII was also done by Tetsuya Nomura so if he doesn't have the time to remake VII, VIII might also not be in the running. However, Tetsuya Nomura had more control over VII so the staff for VIII could regroup and remake the game without him. He didn't do as much with VIII as he did with VII.

You can pretty well trust me on this one. IF they remake VIII they will have all ready remade VII, VIII just was not that popular (probably cause people are to stupid to understand what is going on and just how deep the game is) Pretty much same with IX (again, because people are too dumb to understand things like Necron) The sales for these games (for FF games anyway) just were not that good. They would remake VII before VIII and IX, and I am thinking that they are much to big to have multiples of them on the same game, since these games are huge compared to VI, V, and VI

I understand fully that if they remake VII, it'll come before VIII and IX. However, if these games were to be remade, there would be major differences so they wouldn't be considered multiples.

No, I meant have something Like Chronicles and Anthology. With all 3 on there, I am thinking they are to big for that. Also about VII, I am saying if they DON'T remake VII they WON'T remake VIII and IX. I am having a tough three days conveying what I mean.

given Sony's backwards compatibility, I can't help but question the possibility of complete remakes, considering the originals are playable on the same current system. However, if they were being remade for Nintendo systems, I could see it as a very likely possibility.

They are indeed playable with backwards compatibility. But consider this: so were Final Fantasies I-VI since they were released onto the Playstation, too. Also, like I said before, major changes would have to be made other than advanced graphics for there to be a purpose for remaking them.

I mean all three games seperately for the PS3. Also, just because VII might not be remade doesn't mean VIII and IX won't. The staff that was behind VII wasn't the exact same staff behind VIII and IX. Explain yourself there, please.
I don't give a crap about the staff, Fans WANT VII remade, alot. Not as many people bought VIII and IX as they predicted, where as VII out sold (Oh my did it outsell) their predictions. If nobody (comparatively speaking) bought the originals, why would they remake those, but not the REALLY popular one.

But Final Fantasy 1-6 are being remade onto Nintendo systems, and though they were originally released for the NES and SNES, Nintendo consoles have never been backwards compatible until the Revolution (and even then, the backwards compatibility only really extends to the Game Cube. Sure, you'll be able to download old games, but it's rather doubtful that the entire libraries of previous systems will be available). If a Final Fantasy game (besides 3, and if you wanna get technical, Tactics Advanced, Crystal Chronicles, and Mystic Quest) were being remade onto a Sony console, then you could talk.

What, I can talk. Nomura knows how desperatley fans want a VII remake but he still doesn't plan on going through with it. Not considering the Nomura's view on the subject and demanding for a VII remake sure seems smart. Also, even though IX doesn't have as much fans, the fans it does have are more long time fans of the original games who understand IX while 2/3 of the VII fans are mostly suck ups or people who started playing Final Fantasy at VII. Besides, if look at Wikipedia, they have a small article on the debate between IX's low sales and such.
