The Lord Of The Rings

Ok, this is my version of the lord of the rings. It’s different to the main one but… who cares! It’s from Aragon’s point of view.

Aragon smoked his pipe as he watched the Hobbits depart from Gandalf. Aragon had been chuffed when Gandalf had asked him to perform a special favor for him. Nut when he found out that it was to look after two Hobbits he was most displeased. He stood, leaning on a tree, watching the two Hobbits walk on down the path, on their own, not knowing that they were about to be guarded by the ranger of the north..
As Gandalf walked away from the two he shot his head towards where Aragon was leaning, in the forest, and nodded. Aragon nodded back. He pushed himself off of the tree and began to tread carefully over the broken bits of wood.

The forest was completely green, mostly a mossy green, with some blurred dull brown. The Hobbits seemed to be stopping a lot. Aragon thought that merely because he could walk great distances and not need to stop. Once they stopped at a giant tree that had fallen over. It was covered in moss and was quite damp, but the Hobbits didn’t seem to mind. The Hobbits hadn’t realized that on the over side of this great tree was a big indent where a group of orcs had cut into. It was their little home and the Hobbits made the perfect roast diner. Aragon swore and quietly stepped out from the forest. He crept behind the Orcs and swung his sword at one. The blade cut through the air and sliced right into the orc’s hip. This made a loud, and echoing, noise. Fortunately for Aragon, Frodo had just sneezed very loudly and the Hobbits heard nothing. Only one of the Orcs did and that one almost lost it all for Aragon, had Aragon not cut right up its chest with his swift dagger and Frodo not sneezed again. “Sorry Sam must’ve caught a cold” Frodo sniffed.
“It’s not your fault, Mr. Frodo” Sam replied.
There was 2 Orcs left. One was half way up climbing the trunk and the other taking out his sword from the tree trunk. Aragon growled to himself. He, swiftly and quietly, lunged forward at the bottom Orc and swiftly swung the sword around, and sliced into his pelvis. The Orc opened his mouth to scream but Aragon grabbed his face and smacked it against the trunk.

“What was that noise?” Sam asked. Frodo looked around. “I think that Branch just fell down” Frodo replied, pointing at a branch at the bottom of a tall and narrow tree.

Aragon gave a sigh in relief. He looked up and his stomach instantly turned. The Orc was centimeters away from the Hobbits. Aragon took a few steps back and drew out his dagger. He aimed for the Orc and threw the dagger. Fate took care of the rest.

Sam heard a slight noise. He couldn’t describe it. It was just a quick noise that wasn’t able to be identified. He turned his head around and looked at an oozing black substance on the tree. Sam crinkled his nose and scooped it up with his two fingers. He raised it to his nose. He sniffed. It was disgusting. It smelt of every good and tasty piece of fruit, except from it was rotten, rotten fruit and rotten vegetables. Sam coughed. “Frodo, I think its best we move on. This tree’s sap is vile” Sam said as he gestured towards the black substance. Frodo observed the odd substance and said “Yeah, I agree. Besides, we should go anyway”. The two got down from the trunk and walked onwards.

Aragon leant down against the giant trunk and swept the sweat from his forehead. He sighed with relief. The body of the dead Orc tumbled down from the tree.
When Aragon threw the dagger it cut into the Orc’s shoulder. The Orc fell but got caught on a big branch sticking out. The Orc’s blood had splattered onto the trunk and right next to Sam. Sam sniffed it and they then walked off. The only problem was when the Orc was on the branch its hand was sticking up the trunk. Had Sam raised his head any higher he would have seen an uncoloured hand lying in front of him.

The hobbits moved on, as did Aragon. They went on through the forest until they found some other peoples. They were Hobbits, Merry and Pippin, who’d been running from the farmer back in the Hobbiton. They’d run a long way because he’d finally had enough of the two and promised that if he saw them again then he’d kill them. “You’d have to get through my sword” muttered Aragon to himself. “So” Merry said “Why are you here?” Sam smiled and said “We can’t…” when he was interrupted by Frodo who said “Don’t be silly, Sam. Of course we can tell them.” and then told them why they were there.
“A ring?” Pippin asked. “The ring” Sam corrected. Merry asked “Err Frodo, Do you think, you know, do you think we could come… escort you to Rivendell?” and widened his eyes. “No...” Sam said strongly and sternly but then Frodo interrupted “Yeah, sure. Now let’s keep going, otherwise we’re going to freeze out here all night” and began to walk on. The others followed, as did Aragon.

Aragon was quite annoyed at the fact Gandalf wouldn’t let him be known to the hobbits until they got to Bree. There they were to meet Gandalf and he was to take the Hobbits onwards. Aragon was to be paid and that would be that. It would be so much easier to be able to show himself to the Hobbits and aid them that way. Nether the less he moved on with the Hobbits.

As they got to the outskirts of the forest Frodo became paler and paler. Aragon just strolled and watched as he weakened his pace and moved slowly. It was Sam who was first to recognize this, who rushed “Mr. Frodo are you alright?” and stopped. The group stopped and surveyed Frodo. “There’s something near, and it wants it” Frodo croaked and gestured to The Ring. There was the noise of hooves and all of the Hobbits leapt into a ditch. They watched as a black rider slowly strolled down the path. His horse has black with ripped cloth on it and had devil like eye with the evilest red ever seen. The rider looked much the same. He turned his head and looked right into Frodo’s eyes. It then looked at the ring. Frodo lay there, stone still. Frodo had then realized that the rider was blind, but could sense the ring. There was suddenly a large crack and Frodo thought that one of the Hobbits had blown their cover but was relived to find that it was someone else who had done so. The ride let off an ear piercing screech and rode off.

Aragon had purposely stood on the twigs heavily to catch the Rider’s attention. Now he prepared himself for a fight. He drew his sword.

That's chapter 1. I've done a secound chapter but I'll only post it if you like it...

Aragon had been chuffed when Gandalf had asked him to perform a special favor for him

'chuffed' seems an incredibly unlikely word to be used in The Lord of the Rings context. If it's from Aragorn's POV, where's the background information and his story leading up to Fellowship? He's over 80 years old, so his story starts long before Fellowship does, and if you want him as the main character, jumping in at this point is wrong. It gives the reader no connection with him.

The forest was completely green, mostly a mossy green, with some blurred dull brown

Yes, most forests are mossy green will bits of brown. Tell us something we don't know. The atmosphere, density, cries of animals within. Aragorn is following the hobbits, but that's all you're saying. There's no character there, all we get is "the hobbits stop" "the hobbits sit down" " the hobbits eat". Aragorn is a deep character, where are his thoughts, his worries, his emotion?

The fight with the Orcs was dreadfully boring. The Orcs are made out to be completely inept, with no fighting ability at all, each one killed by a single sword swipe. It's also unlikely that they would be completely silent, Orcs shown in the films to be constantly roaring, and making noises, that no sneeze would drown out. In a forest, the unnatural sound of metal on metal would be enough to rouse anyone's suspicions.

Since it's meant to be Aragon's POV directly, I imagine he would be able to hear things as they are being said properly, so the dialogue of the hobbits would be the same as it is in the books/film (whichever you choose as you're reference).
