The Lost Lapras! (086)

I wish that those bullies who were picking on Lapras had gotten worse punishment. I didn't get why they were being so cruel to a harmless defenseless Lapras.

The three guys who were bullying Laplace were awful, but in an odd kind of way, it was somewhat refreshing to see some antagonists other than just the Rocket-dan trio in this episode. It made me remember that not all villains in OS were from the Rocket-dan.

Tracey seemed so cool here when he stood up to the bullies on the beach and Lapras made me sad since she couldn't trust humans. And who knew that Venonat had a radar.

I kind of feel bad for Kongpang since this episode was one of the few times during the Orange Archipelago arc where it managed to use its tracking skills, whereas later we'd see that role go to Kenji's Marill instead.

When Misty and Ash arrived at the beach and saw the bullied Lapras I was glad that Tracey also arrived and told off the guys who were bothering it. I liked that Tracey bonded with Ash and Misty during their attempts to save Lapras from Team Rocket because that made them all have something in common. And I had no idea that Venonat even had sonar so that scene was a pleasant surprise.

This might sound heartless but I didn't like that Ash got Lapras in the end. I thought that him saving it with Tracey's help was good and all that but Ash didn't need to be the one who caught Lapras. I wish Misty got it instead since she's a water Pokemon specialist and she once wanted to get a Lapras back in one of the Kanto region episodes. But I was impressed by Tracey's debut because his character was refreshing and his use of Venonat's radar was smart. 7/10

Is it just me or did you guys notice that when Tracey handed Ash the medicine to give it to Lapras while he went to get Nurse Joy, Ash looked kind of clueless on how to administer the medication to Lapras.

I think he was confused since as far as I can remember, he had never administered medicine to Pokemon before. In fact it was rather in-character for Satoshi to look puzzled about that.

Tracey... who? /s
Nice to see him here and he has a Venonat, one of my favorite bug types. Pokémon Watching sounds interesting. The part where he was interviewing Meowth was funny.
I wish we got more on Lapras's backstory and how exactly she got separated from her family in the first place. Ash was being too rash with Lapras at points but I like how he bonded with her.
