The MLP has 16 teams. Each team is fully run by one owner (one user) who drafts their pokemon, makes trades to improve their team, and fights other teams using the pokemon on theirs. The cool thing about this association as compared to others is that each pokemon only appears on one team in the whole league; it's like the MLB or NBA, or other sports leagues in that the players can be traded, released to free agency, drafted, or signed, except that the players are species of pokemon!

Each team will have a maximum roster of 10 pokemon; these are the only species of pokemon allowed on the team. Only 6 will compete in each battle. There will only be one of each species of pokemon in the league; for example, if team A has Scizor on its roster, then no other team can use Scizor on their team. Different species in an evolution chain still count as different species.

Draft​

The first thing that will happen will be a draft. There will be 10 rounds of the draft, so each team can draft 10 species of pokemon for their roster. The draft will be serpentine, so the order of drafting will flip each round. The person who drafted last in round 1 will draft first in round 2, last in round 3, first in round 4, etc. Pokemon with alternate forms only count as one species; Rotom is the only exception. All the Rotom forms count as different pokemon species.

The draft order will be announced when all 16 Team slots are filled. The order will be randomized.

I will provide a link to a chat box that everyone who is part of the league will be PM'd; at the time of the Draft (which will be decided to fit those who are accepted into the League) everyone will go to this chat box, taking their serebii username as their cbox username.

You will ONLY post in the cbox when you are choosing your next pokemon; I will post to 1.) claim my pokemon for the pick, 2.) announce who's pick it is.

If you can STILL not make it to the Draft, PM me informing me this with a list (of 55-100 pokemon) of pokemon listed by priority; I will take the highest available pokemon when your pick comes around.

Roster Management​

Again, the only pokemon species allowed to be used on each team are the ones on that team's roster. Each team gets to have up to 10 pokemon species on the roster, with a minimum of 6. Pokemon remaining undrafted at the end of the draft can be signed as "free agents" on a first-come first-serve basis. If you want to add a free agent to your team, you must post that you wish to do so in this thread.

Teams may trade pokemon species with each other. For example, if a team has Ferrothorn and Scizor, and wishes to acquire a pokemon who can help negate the fire weakness, they may trade Scizor away to a different team in exchange for Rotom-W, for example. The number of pokemon traded away do not need to be the same as the number received, although the number of pokemon on the team roster must stay between 6 and 10. If a team has 10 pokemon and makes a 1-for-2 trade, they must release one pokemon on their roster into free agency to keep their roster under the size limit. The same goes for when a team picks up a free agent.

Any pokemon drafted in the first four rounds of the Draft are pokemon that CANNOT be dropped into free agency. They can, however, be traded. Trades must be confirmed by both owners to me by PM, and roster changes (with free agency) must be told to me by PM. I will change the Roster list; it is your job to know which species of pokemon is where.

League Play Rules​

The 16 teams will be split into two conferences: East and West (there will be 8 in each and the spots will be on a first come, first served basis). Each team will play a total of 10 games in the season: the 7 other teams in their Conference, 2 teams from the other Conference, and 1 team that will double on their season schedule (these will be chosen at random).

Regular season matches, using your/the opponent's battle times will be assigned (both time and dates). The due date for each match will be announced right AFTER the last round of matches are finished. Please do not rush ahead, and remain with the battle times (which you have 7 hours after which to post the result) unless both combatants discuss an alternate time (that does not completely affect the other participants or the flow of the league) and both PM me.

After the end of the regular season, the top 8 (top 4 from each Conference) will move on to the playoffs. The playoffs will be a bracket sub-tournament to decide who will be the Champion. Each game in the playoffs will be decided by best out of 3 matches.

If a League Owner is inactive for two weeks, they will be replaced by another user. So STAY ACTIVE.

Rules for Battles: Standard BW OU Wifi Single Battles​

- ALL battles will take place on Pokemon Online (and be logged).
- Sleep Clause
- Species Clause
- OHKO Clause
- Evasion Clause
- No Ubers (but BL, UU, etc.. are allowed)
- No Hax Items
- Forfeits will count as a loss
- MLP Clause: you may only use pokemon found on your roster

Team Name: What you will name your team; please choose a location (city) and then give it a pokemon as a mascot. For example, my team name will be the Cleveland Escavaliers. Ideas to be taken are: Miami Heatrans and Oklahoma City Thunderus'; Chicago Snubulls/Taurus'.
Time Zone: In GMT format
Best Draft Time: In GMT-5 or GMT-0 (please say which); this will help determine a draft time for me to decide on.

edit2: how will draft order be determined..? we shud have a preseason where you can use any team and the top records in pre season get first draft picks! just a thought because randomizing isnt really, a good way of distributing picks

Well, we will be deciding the draft picks through randomization because a pre-season would take too long, to be honest. With randomization, and the tiers pokemon fall into (since ALL tiers are open save for Ubers) the spread of teams will be pretty even.... Though, there will be a twist that I will be announcing once the draft order and draft time is announce.

Also, for everyone: the draft time will be in EST (GMT-5)! Which I will re-state when it is posted, which will hopefully be soon because there are ONLY FOUR SPOTS LEFT!
