So in my choir class, we were talking about the milotic scale (a variation of do re mi fa so la ti do) and in the milotic scale, you change the fa to fe. So i was like hmmm fe that sounds familiar and then it clicked in the MILOTIC scale FEebas is derived from the FE from the scale!!! anyone else agree

It might be a play on Milotic, or a combination of "mild" and "aquatic". Check out Wiki-san.

I don't know about Milotic, but Feebas = Feeble + Bass. So, your theory = probably not, but 'melodic' sounds right.

Hey people! just go to http://en.wikipedia.org , you'll find your answers there. Verbatim from Wikipedia:

Name Origin
Its name probably originated from Venus de Milo, a statue that, like Milotic, represents beauty, and the word exotic. The name may also be inspired by the term "melodic," which evokes images of grace and beauty.

Japanese name Mirokarosu is from Venus de Milo and greek word for beautiful, καλλoς.

A couple of weeks ago in science class my teacher was talking about Deoxyribonucleic Acid. > What DNA stands for. If you think about it it mixes well with Deoxys because, as you know, you have to have some samples of it's DNA in order to recover it. XP That's weird :p. Oh yeah my hamster just died. I'm sad now.

Sounds right, but then again Togetic has 'tic' on the end and isn't aquatic.
probably the "tic" from togetic is a variation of chic.

I think that the melodic and mild + aquatic are good reasons, but both can be true. we may never know.

and the deoxys thing was old (at least for me)

Of course, Deoxys is the DNA Pokemon.

Perhaps "tic" is used as an adjective, like the "tic" in "idiotic". (no offense, I couldn't think of another word ending in "tic")
