The Mystery Dungeon Sky Discussion

I started out as an Eevee and picked Pikachu as my partner. We're known as Team Rhythm. (My name was Melody and Pikachu's was Harmony.) I also liked the fact that if you said you played Explorers or Time or Darkness in the past, recruiting members would be much easier than before.

I have got to be the world's biggest idiot.

I thought that answering "No" had something to do with the personality quiz, and that it would help me get one of the new starters.

Beaten Aegis Cave (Team Charm died:p), and am now Master Rank.

Seeing as how I cheated my way through Bidoof's Episode (Facade, Swagger, and Dig), I only have to do the Team Charm one.

Wow! Happy Holidays everyone! And Merry Christmas to those who celebrate! ='D

LOL. Am I the only one who found that episode extremely annoying? First it's travel with Snover and get pummeled to near-death by Snow-Warning (because I was TOO CHEAP to buy the Orbs in the shop...) and then you get attacked by Snover, Bagon, and Gligar, is it?? Then You have to take on the dungeon on your own with Tackle until you finally level up to learn Rollout. And then you have to fight a Steel-type Boss (Jirachi) with a Normal-type. Joy to the world.
I'm done complaining. >>;
But in all honesty, I think that was the hardest Special Episode for me. In the end, for me, leveling up was the key to victory.

Well, ya see, that's why I taught those moves. Facade is STAB and 1/2HKOs practically everything, Swagger is good for the Team Rogue fight, and Dig 3HKOs Jirachi.

Then again, seeing the way my Treasure Bag was set up, it was hard for me to fail it. It went like this:

Page I

As for Hail damage, Rainy Orbs and Sunny Orbs are fairly common inside the dungeon.

Oh, and the second boss fight (with the Guild, vs. Team Rogue) is soooooo satisfying.

I can't be bothered to give this a spoiler, but...

In the Bidoof episode, go to Marowak Dojo for a gift.

That's pretty handy... really...

Just started a new game... No, not on my original save file, another copy... (it'll be a total waste of time getting my starter to max stats, Guildmaster Rank, a Golden Mask, 3 Miracle Chest, a Wonder Chest, an IQ Booster, bla bla bla...)

Got Eevee as my starter... was pretty surprised for the first time I played I kept soft resetting for a Piplup and during those times I kept on getting Vulpix. So... choose Vulpix as my partner, just cleared Mt. Bristle and Bidoof's Episode... with a bunch of Defense Curls and Growls ^^;

You. Are. Rich.

I believe that Growl doesn't work for Bidoof, because his Unaware ability cancels it out. Or am I wrong?

EDIT: Found a Look-alike item called a Y-Ray Specs . It gives the holder a Blinker status. XDDDD

I have 2 questions. First if you call yourself Totodile, if you're a Totodile, if you evolve will your name be Croconaw. Second whats the difference if you say you played Explorers or Time / Darkness

Why thank you
1. Though the Max Stats are thanks to the Gummis than the stat increasing items
2. Don't need to ask about Guildmaster Rank
3. Golden Mask and Wonder Crest are from Zero Island North obviously
4. For the Miracle Chests and IQ Booster, I won them at the big drawing. (and wow, I wasn't really expecting 2 more Miracle Chests after my first one o_0)

Hm.... luckily the Totter Seed made Jirachi confused for a while ._.

Oooh, where did you find it? I must have it! (cause I like Blinker Status, it's fun! XDDDD)

@ a person: You are SMART. =0 I just used Rollout to kill things. And spammed the boss with Seeds. Your Treasure Bag is made of WIN. Goodness... how many of those Reviver Seeds did you end up using?
And I agree, the Guild backing you up to crush those crooks was really funny. I just stood and watched... and grinned.

@ chosen_one386: Try to recruit one of the Lanturn in the Miracle Sea--they come with Discharge, which is very helpful. =) Also, keep in mind that Slowbro and Starmie are half Psychic-type, so you should be able to use Totodile's Crunch attack to 1HKO them. Bring Orbs for possible Monster Houses--if you do manage to recruit Lanturn, get it into the room and Discharge everything. Also, while you're walking around the dungeon, watch out for those projectile attacks. Octillery were a HUGE problem for me--I think they know Ice Beam, Octazooka, Bubblebeam and Bullet Seed. (Someone correct me on those moves--I'm not sure about them!) And almost everything in the dungeon, I believe, knows either Water Pulse, Bubblebeam, or Hydro Pump. So stay weary when you're in hallways or in the line of fire of a foe.

for question 1, idk, for question 2, yes = easier to recruit pokemon

I'm still stuck in Mt. Travail. My partner (Riolu) keeps fainting and all the tough Pokemon gang up on me (Vulpix.) Plus, I'm not sure where to get all the extra items I lost.

Aww. D'= Mt. Travail is pretty tough. Can I offer advice in any way? Would you mind posting your levels and movesets?
I always used to save during those harder Storyline dungeons--that way if I got knocked out, I could just turn off the game and start over again without losing items. Yes, you have to forfeit whatever you find lying on the floor of the dungeon if you do this, but it's what I prefer.
Also, bring Orbs for Monster Houses. The Petrify Orb is my favorite--it stuns all the enemies until they are attacked, so you can either walk right through the room and run away to the stairs, or take them out one-by-one.

Just for starters, your Vulpix can learn a variety of Fire-type attacks, which get STAB, and will deal with the Bug-type Pokemon in that dungeon. At level 44, you'll be able to learn Extrasensory, a nice Psychic attack that can cause the enemy to flinch... plus it does twice the damage to the Fighting-type Pokemon at Mt. Travail.
Sadly, Riolu's movepool isn't that impressive until it evolves. I'd recommend a Fighting-type attack for STAB (Force Palm and Brick Break are good), and then Dig, just because it's a handy attack that allows your Partner to dodge an attack from the enemy (provided the dungeon Pokemon don't know Earthquake) and then hit them back.

One (Team Rogue), but I found about three on the ground within the dungeon. Which I couldn't pick up.

Personally, I prefer the Foe-Seal Orb, since it doesn't wear off quite as easily. Any one of those Orbs'll get the job done, though.

I should be going through Mt. Travail, and probably can make it through without ReviverSeedhax (my name for it), but I'm either too cautious or too lazy, and cautious sounds better than lazy.
