i just bought them...is that normal?

FUN :D
...Bought which Friend Areas? If you bought Deep-sea Current/Legendary Island/Stratos lookout/Volcanic Pit, then it's not normal. Though I wouldn't know how one could buy them in the first place. XP

i bought the ledgendary birds' friend area, but everyone else says they don't know how to get it. they're all worried that they can't recruit the birds because they don't know how to get it.

FUN :D
...You can't buy it. o_O'
Were you cheating or something? You're not supposed to get it by buying. You're supposed to be able to get it only by befriending Articuno/Zapdos/Moltres.

Does anyone have know who gives the best experience for the least "challenge?" The best I've found was using Linked moves on Hypno in Solar Cave.

Fighting Team Hydro gives you about 3,000 exp points iirc.

I have a suggestion for the game. I got the idea when I was watching Naruto. It will be a good idea if you make a squad. Like a group for a certain dungeon. A special team metting all strengst ageinst a dungeon. A escort team is a good one for hard plases like Westen Island floor 98. The pokemon in the team would need to know far range attacks incase the csilet gets in a fight. Attacks like quick attack, it can skip one field in which the escortee can be in. Attacks like string shot, shadol ball, and mostly Vacum cut would be needed. String shot to slow down the foe to make it to the foe befor it makes it o the csilent. Vacume cut is super useful for monster houses, it is very weak so the user need to have hight Atk, and Sp. Atk. Then you can take out all foes befor they have a chance to get to your csilent.

When you go in dungeons, you would often find Kecleon shops on some floors, starting from Mt. Blaze. They are very dangerous!!! But, they are also useful in obtaining rare stuff, such as the Kecleon Shop in Wish Cave, where you can get King’s Rock. They sell and buy just like the Kecleons in Pokémon Square, but they can go against you when you “don’t listen”. There can be more than one Kecleon shop in a dungeon, depending on the amount of floors.
About Kecleons: These Kecleon have about 200 HP, and their speed is naturally doubled, so don’t even think about fighting one of these in Wish Cave or Purity Forest. They know the moves, Ancient Power, Substitute, Screech, and Fury Swipes (I think). Screech is killer. If they screech you and use an attack, well, that’s enough to kill a lv. 100! If they use substitute, then, you’re lucky. All the other Kecleons will ignore you for the time being, and you can make a break for the stairs. Ancient Power and Fury Swipes are pretty much well said, but still avoid them, especially when they used Screech on you.
When making a purchase…
If you have enough money to buy the stuff, do not say no!!! That will make you a thief. Always say yes, so be wise about what you buy.
If you don’t have enough money, say no, don’t say yes, that will also make you a thief, so beware of how much money you have.
When you’re a “thief”: Millions of super tough Kecleons will go after you. The best way to get avoid them is to make them somehow unable to attack, or immobile. It’s really hard to beat one, unless you are on level 100, so don’t steal anything in the first place. All the other Pokémon will disappear sooner or later leaving you with a floor full of Kecleons. If you get to the next floor before you die, then congratulations, you don’t have to worry about dying. It will be added to the adventure log as: (number of times you stole) thieving attempts succeeded.
Really important note: If the original Kecleon dies in a weather condition such as sandstorm, Do Not Go Back And Take Any Of His Stuff. It will automatically make you a thief. Even if you leave anything there to sell to him when he’s dead, it won’t get sold. I found out the tough way in Purity Forest, so don’t even try this.
Another note: If you get defeated by a Kecleon in when you’re a thief in a dungeon, you can’t be rescued. At least, that’s what found out from that cruel lesson. I haven’t tested it enough to be sure.
Recruiting a Kecleon: When you become a thief, Kecleons will go after you, but there’s a chance to recruit one. Their friend area is overgrow forest. It’s really hard though, even if you’re a lv. 100 on Lucario rank with a friend bow.
I know Joe has a section about this somewhere, but I put this here, because I had a lot of trouble with Kecleon. Almost everyone does. Plus, it’s hard to find Joe’s section and this thread is more about how not to get yourself dead.
Reply if you think this was helpful to you. Well, happy shopping…

You can't BUY the lengendary birds friend area! Your game must be really glitched up.

To get it properly,
Go and fight one, when it's asking to join your team say yes, and you will automatically get the friend area.

What Pokémon should I bring in Purity Forest? The fartest I've got is 31 floor with Alakazam.

I used Alakazam and went all the way up to see Celebi. Basically, i used a escapee technique, in which my main aim is to hunt for the stairs, and avoided difficult ganks by teleporting away. While i was there, i was lucky enough to buy a Warp Scarf and X Ray Specs at shops (using money from selling expensive items picked up along the way), which really help me alot. also learn those fix damage TMs like frustration. I learn Attract. pick up gravelrocks only, elixirs, petrify orbs (for monster houses at stair rooms) and apples. i was Level 16 only when i reached Celebi. this is my story, hope if gives you some idea.

Warp Scarf rocks that time. i kept warping around the rooms until I found one with the stairs. then, i'll switch out my Warp Scarf, defeat, immobilise or tank any pokemons guarding the stairs. if not, then keep the scarf, and warp around until you come back to room. Warp Scarf can save you some apples too.

oh, btw, i didn't buy those things, i Stole them from Kecleon. I managed to teleport to a stairs and ran. Lucky.. you could try to Petrify him..(haven tried this one)

sometimes the shops had something rare i Must have but not enough money if after selling some stuff. to escape them without too much scratch
1) on the complicated side,
take note of the stair's location before doing the thievery and making a run for it;
make your teammates attack/block him (sacrificing them >_<);
use every sleep, confuse, attract moves;
throw every sleep, totter, allure, blinker seed;
maybe hunger seed or petrify orb (i never tried, they dun work on bosses); teleport or warp out of the way (hopefully nearer the stairs),
until you reach the stairs =P
2) on the simple side, just make sure you have Escape Orb and use it.

note: maybe bring along a Pass Scarf? many many attacks get reflected back.

more notes: on trying to recruit it, i'm plannig to recruit the rest of the pokemons, send Jirachi back to its cave, go back there and wish for them. long long way to go for me.

The best for me are the Deoxys Mirages in Meteor Cave. equiped myself with Pass Scarf, an Escape Orb, a Frustration Orb, and XRay Specs. then defeating the Deoxys Mirages gives me 1320 per kill. without Tight Belt or Huge Apples, you might be able to beat up 10 Deoxys before you are forced to leave. learn and use Frustration on Defense form only. the only problem is Night Shade and belly problems.
