When you go in dungeons, you would often find Kecleon shops on some floors, starting from Mt. Blaze. They are very dangerous!!! But, they are also useful in obtaining rare stuff, such as the Kecleon Shop in Wish Cave, where you can get King’s Rock. They sell and buy just like the Kecleons in Pokémon Square, but they can go against you when you “don’t listen”. There can be more than one Kecleon shop in a dungeon, depending on the amount of floors.
About Kecleons: These Kecleon have about 200 HP, and their speed is naturally doubled, so don’t even think about fighting one of these in Wish Cave or Purity Forest. They know the moves, Ancient Power, Substitute, Screech, and Fury Swipes (I think). Screech is killer. If they screech you and use an attack, well, that’s enough to kill a lv. 100! If they use substitute, then, you’re lucky. All the other Kecleons will ignore you for the time being, and you can make a break for the stairs. Ancient Power and Fury Swipes are pretty much well said, but still avoid them, especially when they used Screech on you.
When making a purchase…
If you have enough money to buy the stuff, do not say no!!! That will make you a thief. Always say yes, so be wise about what you buy.
If you don’t have enough money, say no, don’t say yes, that will also make you a thief, so beware of how much money you have.
When you’re a “thief”: Millions of super tough Kecleons will go after you. The best way to get avoid them is to make them somehow unable to attack, or immobile. It’s really hard to beat one, unless you are on level 100, so don’t steal anything in the first place. All the other Pokémon will disappear sooner or later leaving you with a floor full of Kecleons. If you get to the next floor before you die, then congratulations, you don’t have to worry about dying. It will be added to the adventure log as: (number of times you stole) thieving attempts succeeded.
Really important note: If the original Kecleon dies in a weather condition such as sandstorm, Do Not Go Back And Take Any Of His Stuff. It will automatically make you a thief. Even if you leave anything there to sell to him when he’s dead, it won’t get sold. I found out the tough way in Purity Forest, so don’t even try this.
Another note: If you get defeated by a Kecleon in when you’re a thief in a dungeon, you can’t be rescued. At least, that’s what found out from that cruel lesson. I haven’t tested it enough to be sure.
Recruiting a Kecleon: When you become a thief, Kecleons will go after you, but there’s a chance to recruit one. Their friend area is overgrow forest. It’s really hard though, even if you’re a lv. 100 on Lucario rank with a friend bow.
I know Joe has a section about this somewhere, but I put this here, because I had a lot of trouble with Kecleon. Almost everyone does. Plus, it’s hard to find Joe’s section and this thread is more about how not to get yourself dead.
