The Nintendo At E3 2006 Thread

Ahh, Ninty, Ninty, Ninty. Deary deary me. You're really gonna spoil us at E3 this year, aren't ya'. I mean everything about the Wii being revealed, Twilight Princess info galore (maybe even a finalised release date), a horde of new DS games ([thread=111362]Phantom Hourglass[/thread] , [thread=111257]New Super Mario Bros[/thread] , Pokemon Diamond & Pearl, etc), not to mention a horde of third-party support, right. Right?

Yeah, right, I'm rambling. So what's this thread about then?
It's gonna have two uses... pre-E3, it's gonna be a good ol' speculation about what exactly Nintendo are gonna show us, then post- and during-E3 it's gonna transform into a super-duper non-stop action thread of everything being revealed! Yabba dabba doo!

So, until I bother to do some work on this thread. I will, I promise. It's up to you to discuss it. And don't be afraid to click on other links. I promise they'll link to something useful, honest. So, what'cha waiting for?

PREPARE FOR E3...
AND IT BEGINS... ... on May 10th, Nintendo Conference on May 8th

THE COMPLETE AND UTTER LIST!!!
  • The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Cube and Wii)
  • The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (DS)
THE STUFF THAT CAME IN PRE-E3

Megagames.com said:
Hideo Kojima has been contacting people in the gaming industry mentioning that he has his own little (Wii) surprise for E3 2006.

Nintendo gossip is reporting that various members of the games press have received a card from Kojima Productions containing the following six words: Rearm, Rebirth, Regale, Return, Refine and Respect. In each word the first two letters Re were colored red in an attempt to indicate that Nintendo's Revolution is somehow involved. The cards, apparently, went out a few days before Nintendo's Wii announcement. The rear of the card includes the bald statement, The REVOLT begins, Tuesday, May 9. It’s the battle for E3. Now if this was truly a Revolution related announcement it lost much of its dramatic effect due to Nintendo's timing on the change of name.

Last year Hideo Kojima had hinted that he was working on a Revolution (Wii) title that was unlike anything he has created in the past. At the time some had suggested that Kojima-sun may be creating a game targeting women gamers although no one had commented officially on those rumors.

The lead-up to E3 2006 is proving that Nintendo has still a lot to offer the world of gaming and the anticipation is rising on a day-to-day basis making the second week of May one of the most exciting times in gaming history. Unlike Microsoft's XBox 360 and Sony's Playstation 3, Nintendo's console is the only next-gen platform which promises revelations of substance at this year's exhibition. The other two competitors may offer pricing information or display new titles but are unlikely to provide any news that can match what Nintendo is suggesting. Let us hope that the Japanese gaming giant can deliver on the day.

AND AT E3

Yeah I'm pretty sure NSMB is realeased in the U.S. May 15th, for you lucky Europeans, you guys will get it June 30th. I got this from Gamefaqs, so don't say I'm wrong. ;p

I'm hoping for some information on Super Smash Bros. Revolution. I heard that it was going to be a launch title and I'm wondering if/hoping they'll confirm any new characters in the game.

You probably are. GameFAQs just posts the first date they hear and never update it... heck, I bet if I checked, it would still say that Twilight Princess gets released last November.

Nope, it says Q3 2006. Anyway, Nintendo.com says it's May 15, so I'm pretty sure this is the final date.

Isn't Wii set for a U.S. Thanksgiving (November) release?

BTW I'm one of the very few who actually like the name Wii. :p

It's not known. It's one of the things we'll find out at E3, probably.

And I'm also one of the few. Think of the spelling... not the pronounciation. It's good.

Aipom is on TV now!?
...Wait... You guys think DP will be at E3. It wasn't on the list was it? I think Pokemon is one of those games that will be revealed in JAP before the US. Was R&S at E3?

Well, actually Nintendo Reps have confirmed that Wii will arrive at or before the week of Thanksgiving. Though, a Thanksgiving release is the most probable course of action.

Big Pre-E3 news everyone.

I was at Nintendo World last Friday when Reggie Fils-Aime was signing autographs and answering questions. Somebody asked him how you would drift using the Wii controller, and he decided to drop a big hint about part of Nintendo's Wii showing at E3. He said Nintendo would be showing a game that uses the controller shell to steer (presumably like a steering wheel). On a side note, he also said he hopes he isn't fired for saying that :p

....Mario Kart? Only time will tell, but if developers have caught on to new ideas like that with more of their games, then the Wii should have an excellent showing.

Deoxys Prime

Time will tell.
Wii hmm? Sounds promising. I can't wait for E3, I also can't wait for the new info coming, I never go to E3, since I live on the opposite coast, but, I'll check up online about it. SSB: Wii should be good, if its available at launch, I'll be happy, if its available soon after, I'm fine.

E3 is only open to invitation anyway...

Well, I wonder if nintendo will show any new attachments for the Wii controller, I mean, the mentioned that there was going to be more than one. And also, i wonder if theren will be any peripherals that can be ided instead of a controller, like a stearing wheel. But I am sure that holding it up would make your arms ache after so long.

I cant wait for this years E3, I am sure that it is going to be great. I just wonder if they will release any info on DP there.

Only some of E3's events are invitation only, to get on the show floor you just need to be in the industry. I'm not sure how tight the security is on the invitation only events are either, I know an ex-Sega game tester (that's going against this year actually) that got into the Nintendo conference despite not having any pass or invitation
