I went to an event and got a Celebi on my Sapphire and Emerald. Went and erased my Sapphire file since I already had one on Emerald (stupid, I know). Then, guess what? Lost Emerald. Two legitimate Celebi, gone.
*sigh* well i could say my story is a general one for a new player of sorts...
i was playing ruby, got to groudon, and didn't freaking save before i faced him. yeah i know, what was i thinking. was wayyy too far from groudon on my save file to reset, so bleh i just let him die. later on, i had a great team that consisted of very high level pokemon, especially my beloved bubbles the swampert at like i think i got it to lv100, was planning on migrating them when i got there in diamond, then my nieces and nephew and their parents moved in, and i lost my ruby to them >_> havent been able to find it since. R.I.P. Bubbles.
(but on a side note, the firered game i gave my nephew for i forget what, they forgot and i took it back ;D)
since then, i have learned to keep a hawk's eye on my pokemon games, and ALWAYS save before you face a legendary.

wasting my entire week for just trying to get a shiny kyogre/groudon/rayquaza.
On a game file, I didn't catch this shiny Makuhita, although it was the first one I had ever seen and I think I missed the sparkles so I couldn't really tell it was shiny. On that file, I had caught a lovelyy shiny golden Magikarp and a shiny Seviper, and then I just deleted the save file for like no reason. Didn't even play the game after. =/

Erased my game that had my Shiny team Sandslash and one of my three legitimate Shiny Tentacools on it, as well as Modest 31 Sp.Atk/Sp. Def/Def IV Milotic and Modest Latias. *facepalm* Also finding a Volbeat on my first Emerald run (1% chance to find) after 7 days and letting my sister catch it. SHE accidentally used my Hariyama's Fake Out instead of Knock Off and KO'ed it. But in a stroke I got a Volbeat on MY VERY NEXT random battle. And finally, going into the desert with my Daycared Lv. 70 Registeel whose only attack was Zap Cannon and finding a Trapinch...I heard someone else has done that before too. (Luckily I had a few Ultra Balls and caught it after a few tries). Aside from that, I pride myself (now at least) on being an in-game buff.
