Evil Monkey!!!
Since the Democrats are the leaders of the House, how about they lead by example?
How about the Republicans just step up, and not have to be led?

Funny but it was PELOSI that made the stupid speech which ****** off the GOP. It was PELOSI that did not check to see which Democrats were voting for or against. It was PELOSI that gave Democrats in unsafe seats the okay to vote against. It was PELOSI that tabled the movement for a revote on that day.
Im sorry, I must be mistaken. Pelosi's speech mustve been a life threat to every house member who voted for the bill. IT DOESN'T EFFING MATTER!! The repulicans voted against the bill, and pelosies speech is a piss poor excuse as to why. They are playing party politics, and they should be ahamed of it. the dramatic drop in the market the other day was their fault. not pelosi's.

Both are leaders of their party and contain a large amount of Political Power. Obama could do Pelosi's job and basically get Democrats to vote for this.
Well maybe the republicand could vote for it. it was 2-1 against as far as republicans go.

Was it the Republicans that made the stupid speech?
It was them who voted.

Was it the Republicans that cut their own party out of most of the meetings on this?
That was a schedual mishap, and you better be ready to prove there was some malicious intent behind it.

Was it the Republicans that announced a deal had been made with out meeting with the House Republican Leadership? Was it the Republicans that tried to use Paulson to gang up on the House Republican Leadership at the White House Meeting?
All awful excuses when banks are failing, and people are losing their savings.

Republicans are not the leaders of the house right now. Democrats are, becuase of that the Democrats are the leaders. Now if you wish for the Democrats to step down, if they cannot handle the Pressure, the Republicans can take over.

Excuse me but the Democrats have been playing Party Politics for the last week. And alot of Republicans did not want to vote for this bill, Alot of them sucked it up and put their jobs on the line, but after Pelosi's speech and the actions that followed a lot of them reconsidered. Which they have the right to do. You guys couldn't shut your mouths and sit on your hands for one day with out going after Bush and Republicans, and it cost you.

And if it was the Republicans fault for the Dramatic Drop, then they should also be given credit for the Dramatic Rise the day afterwards.

Well maybe the republicand could vote for it. it was 2-1 against as far as republicans go.
Yes and they had the votes going in thanks to McCain and the Republican Leadership. Pelosi deciding it was best to secure most of the unsafe seats, and not Whip any Democrats, as well as insult Republicans were, is what lost those votes.

The day before the votes were there, you guys just blew it.

It was them who voted.
Yup and it was the speech that changed some of their minds.

That was a schedual mishap, and you better be ready to prove there was some malicious intent behind it.
On one of the biggest economic negotiations of the century and it just so happens to have a scheduling mishap? Sure...

Again if the Democrats cannot handle the big chair, then they should gladly step away from it.

Also lets not forget the negotiations on Wednesday where the Democratic Leadership announced a agreement, to try and poke it in McCain's eye, with out having consulted with the House Republican leadership.

All awful excuses when banks are failing, and people are losing their savings.
No it's not. The Democrats acted petty and tried to ram a bill through that needed a whole lot more consideration. As Obama himself put it, this is the biggest economic challenge of our life time, and the Congress wants to run a bill through to fix it in less than a week? With out any real consideration for alternative measures? I mean my God the House was so busy thinking about how they could pass a 700 Billion dollar Bail Out, they never stopped to think if they should.

Yes banks are failing, and if you have more than 100,000 dollars in the bank you are losing everything above it. But we have had over 10 years of Mismanagement on this, and now everyone wants to rush rush rush with out considering everything.

The Democrats love to scream about how we rushed into Iraq with out considering all of our options, and that really ****ed us up. Well look around guys, you are rushing head first into this banking crisis with out considering all of our options.

Edit: Either way it doesn't matter the Senate just passed it 74-25, off to the House tomorrow where it will hopefully get passed.

Edit Again: AP is reporting that Ifill never told the Commission about the Book, Uh Oh.

Leaving out information about a book coming out on the day in which the President is sworn in, a book in which if Obama wasn't sworn in, it would be hurt in sells. Is kind of a BIG THING TO LEAVE OUT!

Which is what most people seem to think, which should scare the living hell out of the Obama Campaign.

This is really being set up as the first Gore/Bush debate where expectations for Bush were so low people thought that if he could make a complete sentence it would be a victory.

Putting the expectations that low is disasterous.

It isn't fair of them to hurt America because they were offended by some speech. That's what you would expect from 5 year olds.

Wow. I don't even know what to say to that. That's a pretty lame reason to give the Republicans praise for.

This sums up my feelings toward this well.

Yup and it was the speech that changed some of their minds.
Aww. Were their wittle feelins huwt?

I didn't realise we had that much time to decide anyway... really. How much time do (or did) we have? ._.

The Democrats love to scream about how we rushed into Iraq with out considering all of our options, and that really ****ed us up. Well look around guys, you are rushing head first into this banking crisis with out considering all of our options.
How did Democrats "****" us up in Iraq?

Who cares about a book some lady wrote praising Obama? There are many praising McCain... really. I don't know what's so wrong about this.

Except in their minds they weren't hurting America. They were helping by going against a plan that they believe is wrong and is against their ideology. The plan was very very socialist, do you honestly believe that Fiscal Conservative Republicans think the plan was helping America?

Now if you believe this bill helped America, if you believe that following the Socialism in this bill would have helped the country then that is fine. A lot of Republicans differ, because they follow a different economic ideology.

Democrats on the other hand follow the socialist ideology in this bill, so if you think this bill should have been passed that's great. But the Republicans are not the ones in control of the House. That means the Democrats have enough votes to pass anything they want, they could have passed this bill with out a single Republican vote. But instead they let 95 Democrats run for cover.

So if you really truly believe this bill should have been passed, that it's failure hurt this country. Then why don't you look at the party that had the votes to pass this bill no matter what, and didn't.

Wow. I don't even know what to say to that. That's a pretty lame reason to give the Republicans praise for.
It's a pretty lame example to pin the fall on the stock market on Republicans alone.

Aww. Were their wittle feelins huwt?
Probably, and it cost you guys. So maybe next time Pelosi should shut up and act Bi Partisan.

I didn't realise we had that much time to decide anyway... really. How much time do (or did) we have? ._.
More than half a week. This is one of the biggest economic decisions for nearly a 100 years, and the Democrats want to try and fix it in a week? How utterly reckless and dangerous.

How did Democrats "****" us up in Iraq?
Read my statement again, I never said the Democrats ****ed us up in Iraq. I said that the Democrats "love to scream about how we rushed into Iraq with out considering all of our options, and that really ****ed us up"

I am not talking about what the Democrats did, I am talking about how from Obama to Kerry, Democrats have said over and over again how we did not explore all of our options before going into Iraq, and becuase we didn't do that, becuase we made a rushed decision, that it caused us to get into a war that was screwed up. Those are the Democrats own words.

Now you want to take that type of mentality, the "Lets Rush Rush Rush through this" which was the same type of Mentality Bush had in going into Iraq. And you want to apply it to the Economy.

Who cares about a book some lady wrote praising Obama? There are many praising McCain... really. I don't know what's so wrong about this.
* Slaps head in annoyance *

She is the MODERATOR.

Get that? Do you understand what that position means?

Obviously you don't, so let me put it this way, she is supposed to be non biased, she is supposed to provide fair questions and act in a non biased sort of way.

Because of this book, she had a economic stake in the outcome of this election. Her book is coming out on the day the next President is sworn in. Now if Barack Obama is standing on that stage, her book is relevant, if John McCain is standing on that stage, then a book on Obama is Yesterday's news.

So on one of the biggest debates in this election, in a debate in which 30% of the country says they are basing their decision. She is the Moderator.

DO YOU THINK THAT WITH A HUGE ECONOMIC STAKE IN THE OUT COME OF THIS RACE THAT SHE WON'T FAVOR THE CANDIDATE THAT COULD HELP HER?!

Palin pointed out that Obama said that we need to meet with the leaders of the threatening Middle Eastern countries no matter what.
Biden denied it, or at least tried to twist what was said.

Time to suck it up and admit that you were wrong man.

Welcome to the Sarah Palin Show guys.

She rose high above the very low expectations, and she did a great job, in fact as pointed out she was actually winning the debate in many parts.

"She was smart"

"She was main stream America"

"She was up beat."

"She was positive"

"It was her's to lose, and she won it."

All of these are comments from focus groups that overwhelmingly said Sarah won.

Palin said that Obama wanted to meet with the leaders of the threatening Middle Eastern countries without consent (or something like that). Biden pointed out her mistake... I don't remember exactly what it was. I'll have to see it again. I was trying to do my homework at the same time. :|

I'll admit. Palin didn't do as bad as I expected (or hoping :p) but she wasn't "top-notch" either, and she definitely didn't win. (in my view)

I'll get back to your previous post BigLutz tmrw, when I don't have anything to do. ;D (I'll also elaborate more on the points I made in my post)

With out Preconditions and Obama said that not once but TWICE! Once at the You Tube debate.

Here

And really do not get into who said what. Biden screwed up several times including once on the Constitution.

Of course she didn't win in your view. But in the end she sailed far above the expectations and in many times she took the attack directly at Biden. In terms of just spilling out information Biden did better.

But while that may be how a Debate is won in Debate Club it isn't won in the Presidential Level. She came off as nicer, more like able, and overall better, while Biden came off cold, distant, and depressing. In Presidential Debates Personality is everything and Palin won that.

I was fairly impressed with Sarah Palin. As people have already said, everyone was expecting her to fall flat on her face. She exceeded everyones expectations. I will say that Biden spoke for fluently than Palin which gave him the major edge. I noticed Sarah had given some vague answers that didn't really relate to the question. Instead she took some talking points and ran with that. However in politics sometimes it's best to run with talking points in a debate rather than sit there and try to come with an answer. Public debates, especially in politics are all about damage control. If we know one thing at all, the public is fickle. The aim isn't so much who won the debate, but who one the hearts and minds of the audience. As far as I know 59% of the American public thought Biden had won as opposed to 38%(which is still a fairly good result for a relatively unknown candidate that's been repeatedly linked to Bush) thought Palin had won. Bear in mind that these statistics I got straight from the news commentary afterward, I will readily accept an alternative source that's credible.

Unfortunatley I only saw the last half of the debate due to the fact that I had to set up antenna and everything....

I believe that is the CBS Poll? As I have pointed out in the last debate, Flash Polls are incredibly inaccurate. They are about as accurate as the 80%+ that think Palin won on Fox or the 72% that believe she won on Drudge.

It wont be out in a few days if ever. Debates are harder to gage becuase they are more personal opinion on something and other "untouchable elements" I would think a better one will be from Rasmussen or Gallup, who are much more professional when it comes to polls than say CNN or Fox or CBS, which don't really do polling for a living. And tend to do a Flash Poll over a small sample of people in one area instead of nation wide. Remember right now almost 1/2 of the nation has fallen asleep, 1/4th of the nation was heading to bed when the Debate was over with.

The only noticeable time was when they were talking about Bankruptcy I believe and she went back to Oil. But to be fair Biden also did that on one of the questions.

I think the McCain Camp told her that if she doesn't know something, just go to her strength instead of gaffing. Which in the end would be the lesser of two evils.

And really from you, a Obama fan to say "She didn't do as bad" that pretty much shows how well she did.

nothing out of what i normally expected from her really. the gay topic was quite confusing.
Well alot of people expect her to be some uber Conservative, when she Governed as a Moderate, including support for Gay Rights.

so she supports the rights but not the marriage? fine with me; however all i've ever heard from her on the subject was just 'not change the definition of marriage'.

Yeah but that doesn't mean to deny them the rights of Marriage. You will find that most of this country tends to not support Gay Marriage but does support Gay Rights which is why you have both Palin and Biden supporting the same thing.

what did you think of palin's constant reminder of 'i'm a happy go lucky mom! extra credit kidz!'
