The Official (Bumpable) Sugimori and Co. Artwork Thread

Sorry, I didn't get it, I thought you were taking your time getting them together... Good thing I went ahead and collected as best as I could.
Also, as far as I know, those arts from the minisite are most likely the first batch of PKMN arts by sugimori, which I call "Pre-Classic", with the other batch most likely having come with the japanese Blue, which I call "Classic". I'm not sure as well, just stating my thought.

I've been asking all of this as well on Bulbapedia Forum and the answer was the same. I've also research as far as I could, to no avail...
Why couldn't Sugimori just release her art for all of us to see it?

Well, I guess I'll have to put more hopes on Bulbapedia Forum for this one, thanks anyway.

Believe it or not, those pieces of art are not the first set, IIRC. The first set was, I believe, from the Carddass card set by Bandai. If anything, I'd call the art from the minisite the classic art, and the art probably from Blue JP as revised classic art.

I doubt anyone at BMGf will help, as a great number of their Sugimori art was brought to them by myself (before stuff came out that made me close any ties with them). Ken Sugimori is male, by the way. :D

I know he's male, that "her" meant Blue :D
Yeah, that Carddass set, I have all the pics as well, not much interested but ended up getting them.
And your way of naming the classic arts may not be bad at all.

And here I thought BMGf could help...

Ah, okay, I was confused about the gender thing. See, I wish Ken Sugimori released all art he drew in high res (though, that will of course never happen).

Does anyone here know japanese?
I found his twitter account but I've been using Google Translator to try to exchange tweets with him.
I also found Junichi Masuda's Twitter, from those two we might surely get something...
Here: @SUPER_32X & @Junichi_Masuda

These have both been known for a while, as well as others such as Midori Harada @aireverte
Here's the tweets I tried to send them but so far got no answer... [1], [2], [3].
Those were the first ones I sent, in english. After that, I started using Google Translate to try to post them in japanese. [1], [2], [3], [4].

Wow, it's been a while since this thread was active. Anyways, some earlier requests in this thread were for a dump of PidgiWiki's art repository. I found an easy way to do it, so here you go!

CAUTION: This file is 6.091GiB, a HUGE file. Please, make sure that you are capable of saving this amount of data.

http://www.pidgi.net/wiki/images/images-12-jan-2013.tgz

Use 7-zip to unzip this if you cannot already.

The files are sorted in folders by a technical string unique to the file (checksum, for you techies), so there's really no good way of looking through it. If you're using Windows, doing a search in the unzipped directory of *.* will yield a listing of all the files, which should be easier to browse.

I'm SO happy I found this thread! I've been obsessed with Sugimori Art for years!

There is a particular piece of art I've been searching for years (literally), the artwork of all the gym leaders and elite 4 from the 2nd generation, I've only found this so far:

I'm desperate! I've spent so much time looking for them!

I was wondering how you found PidgiWiki, lol! Anyways, as far as these images go, that is sadly the best versions that we have, or so I believe. However, I'm finding more and more things every day, so hopefully, that'll come up sooner or later.

I found it because of this thread actually... but there is so much already there that there isn't a lot to contribute with... however I'm always looking on japanese websites for interesting things.

I love sugimori's art! I love drawing pokemon and all my drawings have been copies of his! I would take a picture and upload them to this post but I am confused with the image posting thing -_-

I miss the "marbled" look of the old Sugimori art, and saw some fan art that had that look.

Well hello, hello, hello! It's been quite a while, hasn't it? Well, fear not, I've got some goodies for all of you!

Pokémon.com updated their website today, and with it came the best quality Sugimori artwork we've gotten for most Pokémon (aside from those that we have high-res versions of). So I've zipped them up for all of you to enjoy - download your hearts out!
